In this video, we go over the ending of the film 'Abigail.' In the film, "A group of would-be criminals kidnaps the 12-year-old daughter of a powerful underworld figure. Holding her for ransom in an isolated mansion, their plan starts to unravel when they discover their young captive is actually a vampire."

The ending shocks me more than when she reveals herself as a vampire. Turned out she didn’t do everything only to manipulate people and she really was just a little girl in front of her father.
My understanding is that she pretended to be helpless only to see who’d take advantage of it and who’d try to protect her. She isn’t a psychopath cuz she has sympathy for those who are kind to her. Also she is pretty weak compared to other vampires so maybe in the vampires’ world she is exactly what she seems to be except all vampires in general are way more powerful than humans
My takeaway as well. A recurring theme in this movie was abandonment.
I don't think it's quite that. Or rather, it would be hard to judge her on our tolerances of sympathy. I think it's more than showing kindness. It's showing strength of character. I wholeheartedly believe that for the most part, she would've offed Joey if given the chance earlier. It was only when she was on the backfoot, and Joey upheld her promise DESPITE everything that has happened.
It's one thing to show kindness to a little girl. It's another to show kindness to a centuries old vampire who has just killed your temporary partners and was also about to kill you, while having fun.
So I'd say this errs more into villainous respect. But I won't deny there was some sympathy involved. But that sympathy could only come through once the truth was revealed and not before.
@@GoodwillWright villainous? Vampires feed that is what they do along with whatever else in their spare time.
@@randallbesch2424 It's one thing to feed, it's another to take joy in making others suffer. I think that counts as villainous.
Also that for majority of the film, she opposes the "hero". Also making her a villain.
Relative to everyone involved, Joey was a hero; being the only one who cared about Abigail's wellbeing. In a cast of crooks and monsters, she is essentially the hero.
I don't think Vampire Frank was stronger than Abigail she is just tired and already battered while Frank was newly turned and so he has that extra energy but if Abigail wasn't really tired she could have killed Frank with ease
I agree the trailer gave away too much. It would have been better if they didn't include that Abigail was a vampire in the trailers.
I probably won’t be watching this at the cinemas cause the trailer gave too much of it’s story even do the trailer made me laugh
@@pomo1697i just watched this movie. The trailer doesn't give too much away. Her being a vampire isn't the big twist of the movie, it's revealed in the first 30 minutes. How were they supposed to market a vampire movie without showing vampire shit in the trailer? That's why people are gonna go see this movie. Because people love shit dealing with vampires
The plot of the movie was that she was a vampire though, they shouldn’t have shown as much deaths but they had to show she was a vampire cause that’s the plot
So glad we decided to watch it on a whim and I never saw the preview.
@@pomo1697everything in the trailer is act 1 or the start if act 2
Just saw it this morning. I loved it and want a sequel!
So would I
🤔 might have to actually kill of Abigail or her dad which turns her human because that little girl is going to quickly grow up
I loved it more than expected and really feel sad for Abigal's character. I think she let her go because she saw her as a mother but also as herself. It's sad that she'll always be in a little girl body. It really gives Anne Rice vibes.
I think them showing Abigail as a vampire in the trailer acted as the “bomb under the table” that is a troupe from literature. Making it more suspenseful as we wait for those out of the loop to find out what we know, or for the “bomb to go off”. If not then it could likely be a play on the book depicting Dracula where the reader is aware of the vampire, but not the characters. So it’s just chapters of us yelling at the characters about something only we know, nonetheless great video!
Also loved the memorial at the end for Angus Cloud.😢
😢😢😢 likewise. It was good to see him.
There was a big leak that there was going to be a daughter of Dracula film, which ended up spoiling so much, to the point they just revealed it in the trailer. I believe they are trying to set up their own version of the old Hammer films universe (which I love), and originally the name was to be a reference to Hammer. My assumption is that if this does well, Goode will appear as Dracula at some point in his own film.
Her being a vampire wasnt the twist
It's only a twist if you didn't watch the trailer or see any of the marketing
@@roderick8167 There isn't one trailer that gives away any of the twists. Not one.
Is it just me or dose the one guy look like Elon Musk.
Facts
Do you mean peter???
I thought it was him 😂😂 had to look for the credits
He is also in a Vampire series I forgot the series name though.
How can you talk about the ending and not talk about Abigail saying "see you real soon"? This is the whole question what that means. Do they become friends? Does she turn her and her son into vampires, because she doesn't want to be alone anymore?
That’s what I wanted to know. Those words made me wonder if that meant she would be watched or turned in the future.
@@alexisevans1775 Yeah, that's really the beauty of this film. It's over but you keep thinking about it.
Loved it! Alisha played an awesome role
The problem with the reveal in the trailer was as soon as the movie came out it would have been All over the internet anyway.
I stopped watching trailers years ago for this reason. I went in blind to see this and was blissfully kept in suspense 45 minutes into the movie. Playing the guessing game makes horror way more fun
That moves was amazing 10/10
Thanks for the detailed explanation. 👍🏼
Holy crap! The story base is fantastic. Already love the girl. Thank you. Might go see this one ❤
Looks like gus made a full recovery after the hospital explosion
😂😂😂😂
Her dad at the end i shit you not im positive its dracula! Gave off those heavy draco vibes, great film was really impressed
your not positive. Of course it was. This is the remake of Draculas Daughter.
@@nonyabusiness2510 I'm aware of that now but when I was I'm the cinema I wasn't! It was the Mrs suggestion so I didn't really know what i was going to see lol so suffice to say you can imagine my surprise when abigail turns into a fucking vampire 😆
Aside when he eventually shows up even without being told anyone who's seen Dracula would know straight away
That scene fuckin' killed it (in a good way). The cinematography and the actor portraying "Dracula" actually gave me a sense of who's in charge. Problem with a lot of these late reveals in movies is that the real "big bad" tends to be underwhelming compared to the "bad" we've been following throughout the film.
joey was so cool. like faith on buffy the vampire slayer. ..could of used buffy and faith as cameos
New listener broski … great review 🫡
I would have preferred the concept if Abigail was not even a little girl at all but a really old vampire that had been turned as a little girl. It's more scary to deal with an adult manipulating the body of a child than dealing with an actual child.
I think she already has an adult mind. All those yrs being an immortal like Claudia from Interview with the Vampire, she matures but not her body. She is an adult forever trapped in a child's body.
Children who turn into a vampire don't age
Well... thats... thats what she is bro 😂 she's a vampire who was turned as a little girl, she has no child's mind, she even tells the group she's had centuries to perfect the 'lost little girl act'
@@OdinSmilesRavensLaugh72051 I didn't get that from this review
That is what she is. You need to pay closer attention. Good grief.
Love the use of dramatic irony. we know what they dont, so its fun watching them figure out, but also, we dont know in the beginning if the little girl is already a vamp. I was thinking she got turned by something in the house at first. Good watch imo
Im watching this because I pulled up to the movie high and late because my boy was there (this was on 4/20)
😂😂😂😂
That’s why I always go in blind I never watch trailers if I see clips I ignore them and act like I never saw them lol
I really enjoyed how you spoiled this
So this is a Usual Suspects & Bullet Train scenario, Abigail doing all this for her father's love and by doing so kill all the people who worked for him in a way then betrayed or wronged him in a way and just don't know it, but main thing is she just being daddy's girl here
Oh so she isn't Dracula's daughter? Then how does a human have a vampire daughter? How did that happen?
She probably still is, Dracula would just use different aliases throughout the years
@@chrisbowers2450 He mentions that in the movie, he used so many names. And she says that he turned her, so he made her a vampire.
read enough fanfiction or watch enough sci fi...life finds a way
@@chrisbowers2450 Just came from the movies. He (Abigail's father) doesn't say that he's Dracula but he implies it by saying that he has had many names over the years.
I would like to watch part 2 already
8:57 Ages ago I saw this actor at a train station in London and I was trying to work out where I had seen him and I was sure it was a vampire film. But at that time he hadent been in any vampire films/shows. It was before the witch series he was in.
havent hard that danzig track in some time...
Good movie.
Highly recommend.
Movie was amazing… only part I wonder about is if Joey son died that’s why Abigail told her she’d see her again.
The movie would have been better if they didn't reveal the monster in the trailer. Then again, that is not the twist.
Probably be hard to sell the film.
Then again, I guess they could've made a trailer that just focused on the mysterious identity of Valsev (or whatever Abigail's hitman alias was). Like a fake trailer that's not really fake.
Seen this yesterday and I’m happy I didn’t watch the trailer
yeah it would have been better if they hadn't told us Abigail was the villain. but then i wouldn't have come to see the movie. but it was a fun funny movie
Abigail being the vampire isn’t the twist?! What is everyone moaning about. It’s a vampire movie. You have to sell it as a vampire movie. Move on.
Bro, no one woulda been interested in this movie if they didnt reveal her to be a ballerina vampire. That is the pull. You still got time to learn what good advertising is.
The vampire film, Silent Night???? I think you have confused that movie with the television series, The Discovery of Witches.
I thought it was Livid Remake.
Her father killed the first 2 people while she was still in the room upstairs.
Curious, what makes you say this? I may have missed some clues and details. It seems weird he'd only participate in those and not the rest. The only clue I can think of is that if Abigail could do that, then there is no way anyone else should remote be able to physically hold her off.
Not really. We saw her getting out of the cuffs, so it's safe to assume that's what she did
Hello everyone I a fan of horror movies ok I would like to ask this question ok the conjuring 4 that's will be releasing owt very soon is it similar to Abigail 2024
The trailer ruined NOTHING. WHO would go see a film about a kidnapped ballerina?
Exactly- her being a vampire isn't even the major plot point
I want a sequel where Joey becomes a vampire married dracula and become Abigail mom vampire family
Why did Abigail's father show up this time??? Abigail has been luring people to this house for decades. Maybe even a hundred or more years. Why would her father show up now?
I had a great time watching this . I think Dan Stevens was one of the very best part of the movie . I think if they do a modern Dracula I think they need to keep this version of him . And Abigail needs to be in it . And maybe it will reveal Mina harker is her mother
The ending is clearly explained....What's to explain. It's not confusing in anyway it's actually pretty clear.
My question is.. Why frank is stronger than abigail?? And does frank have a chance againat lazar?
So was her Father Dracula? 9:50
yes,
Idk if I’ll watch this at the cinemas cause I felt the trailer gave too much of it’s story even do the trailer made me laugh
Could have explained why there's vampires all over the place.
Oh it's a crime caper...with vampires!
Whatever. Why there's vampires would have been a better story.
Sweet. We get an explanation before the movie is even out. I can't wait to not watch this until later.
😂😂😂😂
Most characters are lame and predictable, but the guy with the glasses actually grew on me and i was disappointed when he didnt turn into the anti hero but instead sold out. I also didn't find his vampire performance very good or even scary. I think the low iq guy would have made a more menacing vampire and even the hacker girl was creepier. The Father of Abigail was very creepy in his performance and had great makeup. I also thought abigail letting the protagonist go was unrealistic considering she had no morals and had bodies stacked in the pool rotting. As a vampire her empathy shouldnt exist but i could buy the you saved me i save you pass and maybe i can believe part of her was still holding on to the little girl she once was with the whole pinky promise thing or it could have been her attempt to manupulate the antagonist to teaming up with her to defeat the glasses guy. I do or would like to see more of Fathers background story in the sequel or prequel. And i loved that creepy bat transylvania castle portrait with abigail. Wonderful Art. An obvious complaint is that the top cellar addic where the hacker turned to vampire had weak boards covering windows they could have just broken through and escaped or the top window where they all got in the sunlight seemed to also have no barrier and all they had to do was stack shelves and furniture and quickly climed out. Lastly, the Cross not working on a vampire doesn't surprise me as hollywood lefties wrote this to knock on religion. Which was tasteless. And sacrilegious.
I think the best twist would have been the Abigail was a vampire. But they ruined it in the trailer. They really screwed up in the trailer I think.
This what they did with Terminator 2. The audience were supposed to assume that Arnie was the bad one like the first film but the film's marketing ruined it just like this one's
Normally, I hear of a movie I'm interested in, I avoid the commercials as long as necessary. I didn't hear of Abigail, didn't know any warnings, so I saw all the ruining images. No interest left I'm afraid.
i loved the beginning, i loved the concept but the ending was meh
It was a very enjoyable film until the last twenty minutes or so. Turning the crooked cop into a vampire was just silly, dum, and over the top. To bad because it had been a good film to that point. I have a feeling we'll be seeing Abigail in a sequel. She and Dad look like we should expect to see more. Hopefully the writers won't do anything as stupid in it as the cop was.
I don’t know what they were thinking with that trailer giving away the twist that was silly
Who makes these trailers anyway?
Whats there to explain lol, its quite obvious
Just saw it earlier.... 4/10
Her father was there he killed the first 2 people
of course they made the girlboss junkie won dont like her, frank should've won.
killing everyone but joey 👎👎👎👎
I thought this movie sucked. It was too long, apparently everybody becomes a vampire and then dies, Abigail's father doesnt like her but likes her at the end...it was trash.
Stop talking just play it why do you always freaking ruin these clips damn it
couldnt agree more
Sounds like they got the idea for Megan the movie
