This a great idea if you make it with waterproof concrete, rebar and concrete sealer. This is just a skim coat on the Styrofoam not structural. This tank is going to have 2,500 lbs. of water being held back by Styrofoam.
Yeah it was a beautiful job but I'm having a hard time seeing this lasting a long time without falling apart from the pressure of all that water.
Its ok.. the styrofoam is waterproof. The concrete is just for looks as well as prevent flaking when things are moved around. As for pressure the styrofoam can hold it just fine, some people store water in these.
@Rick, so how big a tank can someone make by using styrofoam you think? This opens up a whole new perspective for my fish ^^
@@thenande It would still be better to reinforce it with more concrete. Or cloth reinforce the cement.
@@gwendolyn9300 I think that as long as water level is not too high (no more than a foot or so), it might be fine.
Good Idea, but I think that tank will not stand long enough, because the cement layer is very thin and not reinforced with wire-mesh (ex: chicken mesh).
If not and If it wall accidentally push by children or tank fully of water, the cement layer definitely will be crack

If you decide to do something like this reinforce the cement with chicken wire or mesh you will get a longer life out if it. But this size with the water pressure... it doesn't have a long life. One knock and its.... more suitable as a planter though.

Anh cho hỏi kích thước mỗi thùng xốp DxCxR bao nhiêu. Và tấm kiếng ráp vào DxR bao nhiêu? Ngoài trát xi măng thì anh có chống thấm gì nữa không? Xin cảm ơn!
thùng 0,8x1,1 cao 0,8m , trét xi măng nếu trộn chống thấm thì ok hơn , nếu kg thì dễ bị rỉ phải sửa lại
đa số hồ mình làm xong thì đều có sửa lại .
