You can drive for 5 hours on a single charge and it takes 10-30 minutes to charge. If you're hungry and have to use the bathroom, there's your 30 minutes. Doesn't alter a roadtrip much at all. You rented a crap car. Old technology.
I am pretty sure the goat with the funny haircut is actually a Llama, You could sort of think of them as the South American version of a Sheep. :D (cause they raise them for the meat and wool.) But actually they are members of the Camel family. ;)
I believe that was an alpaca, a relative of the llama.
Hi Eric, thanks for showing Utah. I need to go there when it gets cooler.
I’ve seen a sign like that in campgrounds in remote areas because they generally get their water from a well, not from a city water system. If every RV filled up a 40 gallon tank the well would run dry eventually. Yes, you could grab a bucket and fill up your RV tank, but that would only be 5 gallons. That being said, I once had a camp host tell me it would be OK to use my water bandit and fill up half my tank.
We travel with our Tesla. 300+ miles and only takes 30 mins. to charge at a supercharger. Camp in it, pet mode, with a/c or heat when it’s needed :)
the smart car electric is more comprable to a electic golf cart than a modern electric car... why he started exploring there is beyond me.
I knew there would be one
Agreed entirely on this. We travel in my husband's Tesla all the time and I don't think we've ever spent more than 20 minutes at a supercharger. Usually it pushes 20 minutes because we take the time to give our dogs a short walk, plus bathroom breaks.
@@gcs8889 Exactly! We do the same thing :)
Just an FYI, Eric, The 8 hours to charge a Tesla are the home and low output charging stations. Those high output Level 3 DCFC stations only take 15-25 minutes.
Really? That's fast!
My public experiences were shared on this channel. I'm not "pushing" anything. I made an entire video about my FACTUAL experience.
@@LODOG419 I'll always have my: V-8 Coyote a 5.0 liter, naturally aspirated V8 engine puts a smile on my face every time I start her up💯‼🏁
@@nomadicfanatic I'll always have my: V-8 Coyote a 5.0 liter, naturally aspirated V8 engine puts a smile on my face every time I start her up...💯‼🏁🏁
I don't think I have ever stayed longer than 20-25 minutes at a SuperCharger unless I was at a restaurant across the street having a sit-down lunch or dinner because I was hungry. About the same amount of time I spend at a rest stop... And no, I'm not a Tesla fan boy; I actually prefer to drive my Fiat 500 Turbo tow vehicle as it is fun to drive, but 8 hours comment was about 7 hours and 40 minutes longer than my actual experience...
I loved that petting zoo!! I also love RED ROCK. lived in NJ FOR 34 YEARS and now Midwest State for 15. My trips out to Garden of the God's and Bryce Canyons were my favorite! I am looking forward to more trips to Sedona and others. Thanks for sharing.!!
I work rebuilding USFS campgrounds, and no fill-up for RVs is pretty much the standard for USFS campgrounds without specific dump facilities, which it looks like that was. It is a sanitation thing with the connections and possible backflushing with a hose. If the water was contaminated at one spigot, it would contaminate the entire system for that campground, and there wouldn't be any water available at that campground.
Hole in Rock is pretty cool. I saw it back in the 70s. Rooms carved into the cavern. If I remember correctly, he even carved a bathtub in the rock. There was also a fully taxidermied horse.
Maybe the well was just going dry often with everyone filling their RVs....
It's a sanitation issue. They can't allow it because of the possibility of contaminating the entire water system at that campground
A dog would love that spot.
Wow that Jeep was insane! 😱 I can't imagine the time spent just to make ONE of those wheels nevermind all 4 and the seats/rest the car. Too cool 💕🤙
FYI, the teslas don't have to sit there for 8 hours to charge. Those are supercharger, they'll charge in about 30-40min if at 0% battery. Otherwise usually a 15min charge.
I am enjoying your journey with kitties. Its been a long while but loving you back on roads. Love from India. 🇮🇳
Hey Eric...Im a huge Utah fan....a helpful hint...when you get time and are off the back roads of Utah BE SURE to wash the RVs undercarriage...some of the dusty dirt roads there have some concentrations of potassium or other rusters that will rust the under side of your rv...I learned the hard way...I was mainly in the grand staircase escalante area when I was on the dirt roads...not sure if Moab/San Rafeal Swell areas are an issue but just in case...be aware.
Eric, Thank you for sharing your travels. It has always been my dream to see America traveling in my camper van. Times have changed and safety is my biggest concern now while traveling. Traveling with you is the next best thing!
That was a tongue in cheek electric chair. With the electric station with the glass insulators right next to it. I have been to Hole in the Rock, and was one of the lucky ones I got pictures. but that was a long time ago. They did not have the jeep then. Lots of new stuff there.
I have a new appreciation for you after a long trip from NC to KY the bug guts covered the windshield. All your forward video is so clear.
No, I clean it often, but my viewers are SO QUICK to complain after just one mile and 1 bug lands... They are the first to comment on why I "never" clean my windshield... If I pulled over ever 1/4 mile to clean my windshield, they'd still throw a FIT in the comments about 1 bug.
Eric, good to see you and the kitties on the road again. Hope you can find some cooler temps soon...stay away from Atlantic Canada...nothing but rain this year.
Eric, your camera is fantastic. Like being right there with you.
I plan to get a trailer for my RV too but plan to add 2 or 3 panels on it too. Will be easy to quick connect to the RV solar and use the ac while driving and not suck my battery bank down. Keep up the adventures!!
Nothing better than a good roadside attraction! Thanks for sharing!
Those were fun stops, with quirky stuff. Lol, big foot 🦶. Pretty neat Jeep. Always nice to see animals. 🙂👍
Ah I remember TwirleyBirds & the musical Ferris Wheels! They’d be outside grocery stores and such when I was a kid in Alabama. So from ‘77
VERY cool Jeep!! THAT took some dedication 😮
I’d also prefer to feed & pet animals than see a “hole in the rock” if I had to choose
Should add chapters to his videos. If you notice, everyone is slowly moving to add that feature.
Great video! Just 2 weeks ago we were in Estes Park Co. and the weather was awesome! U can also go up in the Rocky Mountains to get even cooler.
Back on the road again. Nice.
Those Teslas have about a 300 mile range and will charge in about 30 minutes at those Superchargers. You were trying to charge using 120 Volts which is really worthless and takes forever
Meanwhile back here in Concho the monsoons are keeping us in the 60s with 70s as a high. Thank god that heatwave ended.
Happy to hear! I was getting tired of the locals exclaiming "record heat" day after day after day... At least I was there for all those record highs...
Not a weird goat, but an "alpaca."
2 donkeys and brown(sorrel) mini horse!
I remember riding the twirly bird rides as a kid. We had a very small amusement park in the town that I grew up in.
Love bologna sandwiches. If you like peanut butter. Try peanut butter and bologna. Good. Thanks for taking us.for a ride today. See you next time.
More Utah please especially SLC!!!
Eric, that funny little goat is an Alpaca! That place was sweet!
Just a thought, my AC went out and rv tech went all over it, finally figured iut it was the thermostat! Replaced that and bingo AC back working, no problems since.
Have you considered that with the drought and heat, there isn't enough water to go around and that your using water to fill your tank might make it so that someone who just needs a few gallons for drinking/washing can't get theirs? Sometimes we need to think about others, dontchaknow?
Surprised that the tourist trap says they'll prosecute anyone who carves on the rock, but they've defaced the rocks with all sorts of gimmicky knickknacks. Still ... the rest of the area is really beautiful.
It’s private property. They own the rock there. It’s the same as a business decorating the side of their building versus kids coming by and spray painting graffiti all over it.
Loved Hole in the rock! I took the same route from AZ to pick up my sister in Colorado! The jeep was so different and cool!
❤ Eric I would like to say thank you for sharing this video with us I enjoyed it .❤😺❤️😺. Have fun and be safe in your journey.
Old equipment with big gears. Isn’t no Digger it’s old Pulling Crane.
Pulling crane! Got it, thanks!
You don’t have to defend needing a rv park. Makes sense. Nice video.
22:00 - going to clear this up right away. Tesla Superchargers charge at 150 kW plus, compared to the outlet you used which barely put out a 1-2 kW charge rate. Those cars will be back on the road in less than 20 minutes.
Try peanut butter with your bologna. Or with mustard and butter!
It was interesting to find out that the Green river killer, was in Green river, Washington, I used to stop at the truck stop in Green river, Wyoming and I have always thought, that's where it was.
I didn't even know that there was a Green river in Utah or Washington state.
I guess now I can feel less creeped out, if I ever get back to Green river, Wyoming👍🙂
I love that part of Utah! Years ago we went through the home/museum, it was cool, still decorated in the 50's-60's style. The family lived there for many years, operating the cafe and possibly a gas station, I can't remember for sure. We stopped there again this June, and really enjoyed the stop, although we didn't go through the zoo or home because we had our little dog and couldn't leave him in the truck in the crazy heat!
first time i saw a live peacock was in Mexico. The local restaurant had them as an attraction. They had their own habitat. They kept spreading their tail feathers and squeaking loudly.
My first time seeing one and, a whole flock was when I vacationed in Florida!
We went to Sarasota from Bradenton to shop at the 'then' World's largest outdoor Flea Market, "The Red Barn".
There were dozens just walking around!
ummmmmm yeah... it doesn't take 8 hours to charge your Tesla.
He said Smart car, not Tesla!!!
@@tmapes1989 yeah well in the video he directly shows Teslas and makes inference that it take them 8 hours to charge.... sooooooooooo
They have nice magnets at the arches visitors center 😎
Those Tesla chargers dont take 8 hours takes bout 15-20 mins
You know if you cut a little slot on both sides of the treat tube they could both eat at the same time. Love your videos no matter where you are 😊
Nice vid eric thanks, the tesla doesnt take 8 hr to charge and a tesla can do more than 200m.
Hmm I think we got a idea for where to visit this month for Utah. Thanks for the idea to stop there.
I can't believe you called an alpaca a goat, too funny.
Evergreen University's finest!
I’m on the floor laughing
That was definitely a donkey.
@PyroDREW. well, yeah the donkey was a donkey. The "goat with funny hair " is an alpaca.
Where's Tig?
It was not really working out. Eric found Tig another home. There is a video on the subject.
The Moab area is one ofmy favorite areas in the entire country, have fun! 😀
lol Eric, those Teslas at that charging station won't take 8 hours to charge. Tesla superchargers are a whole different thing to what you tried. It's rare that a Tesla is plugged in much over a half an hour before getting back on the road for the next 200-200 miles.
Come to where I am near northern Minnesota. It's beautiful up here and a lovely +20C. 😂
Wow. I really want to go to the hole in the rock now! Bucket list addition.
Great road trip
Thank you for all the awesome videos! 😘
Been to Moab it’s a beautiful place took a side x side tour it was great
Thanks for sharing ur awesome video see yah Eric an Tara an Opie hugs always
Thank you Eric. Pretty cool. Love the Jeep. Loved Bigfoot. Love your videos.
My cab AC doesnt work so I have been trying to drive only 2hrs this summer.
I am happy watch you in the hot sun but I'm glad not to endure the heat. Happy Trails from the NW Oregon. currently 68 degrees on the north Oregon coast
If it is 68* there in August how the heck cold does it get there in the dead of winter?
Remember driving by the "Hole in the Wall" but didn't stop. Enjoyed your showing it to us.
looks like an alpaca!
I live in Utah, drive by this place all the time as a trucker but never been. Thanx for the video. They have a jeep perched up there at the very top of the rock. Also stop by Wilson's arch
Hi Erik, I live bt Dinosaur National Park in Jensen,UT would be fun to see you 80° here HWY 191 TO HWY 40 EPIC DRIVE
Too bad i didn't see this when you were here you could have stayed at my place 60 miles from SLC.
I think that ride was supposed to be a donkey. ❤️ love the old gas pumps! Thanks for sharing. 💖🤗💖
I hate to tell you this Eric, but that was not a donkey that was a llama. You should stop stopping so much in playing tourist and head to the RV repair shop and get your tv junker work done. also, vegetables are good for you and all that not so much fried food either. you is getting older.
The State of Utah, looks very very very Cool 😎 Eric😎😊👍
😂 The Rabbit ride was a Donkey. You had me laughing with the animals too. ❤
You completely mistook a poorly designed, antiquated electric ‘Smart’ car with a modern Tesla or Rivian.
Also, stage 3 chargers finish in 15 minutes.
SOME HAVE QUICK CHARGE 1/2 HOUR IF SHORTER
YESSSSSS!!!! Back on the road again! Oh how I missed it! And how I miss driving on trips! Haven't had a vehicle since January so I am missing that sooooo bad! Hopefully soon I will be out there too! You seem to be doing better despite the heat...I think the road is truly your home no matter what you say Eric! lol...kitties! :)
Been nice and cool here in Central Wisconsin, low 70's during the day and low 50s at night.
Get yourself some Green River watermelon or cantaloupe you won’t be sorry, should be several stands around in the town.
Great video Eric.
So glad you are back on the road with the kitties... Utah is very nice!!
Just because you rented a garbage electric car doesn’t mean they all are bad.
The next state is Wyoming and then on to Sturgis South Dakota for the biker rally. And then you need to ride your bike too Deadwood and tell Buffalo Bill that we all said Hi.
That Jeeeeeeep! 🤩 Add..
The zoo animals snack time was the bast part. What a treat 😍 🐫 🐐 🦚 The very first one you saw literally looked like Shaun the sheep 🐑 LOL, adorable. 🦚
Awesome vid Eric👍👍
Have fun Eric
Fun fun stay safe
Eric, load your trailer roof with solar panels, some more batteries and controllers. Park it in the sun, and run wires to the RV.
Tara loves having her daddy back 🫶🏼♥️🌵🤠🐾🐾🍻🌹
As allways, loved the video. I would question your comments about electric cars though. What batteries did you have in your electric car AA ?. My electic car runs for about 280 miles per fill up. It is a 75 KW hour battery and costs around $10 to fill it up at home. It is always full in the morning and unless I am going on a road trip, I rarely use superchargers but if I do, they fill up in under 30 mins.
I have been to Hole 'n the Rock!
Meow meow Tara and Opie. Thats why we drove by that hole in wall on way to moab. Be safe and have fun Eric.
Seeing you back on the road is great and making me miss our road trips over in the states.... Still, we're off to LA and Vegas again next year, this time with our 2 year old boy. Nice easy drive to take him on.... When he's older, back to driver around the south and mid west
🙏🏻 My Condolences RV Prepper Wayne With The Loss Of Your Father 🙏🏻
Eric claims Wayne is a convicted pedophile
profection at its finest amazing video moab is prettty!!!!!!
Love the video, beautiful scenery, cool zoo, and I love Hole in Rock. It is so nice seeing you back on the road again taking us to fun places with those darling kitties. Enjoy Utah, it's a lovely state.😊
Thats the Toys R US Geoffrey the Girraffe kiddie ride
Ever hear of the hole in the rock gang from the western days? I’m thinking that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were members of that gang for a little while. I’m not sure, it’s been a long time since I watched the movie.
EVs aren't for everyone but you're a little off on the charging. If that is a supercharger, those Teslas will get 200 miles in 15 minutes. 8 hours would be a standard 110 v plug.
I remember riding on the twirlybird and the musical ferris wheel.
Very good see you on the next one.
