Watching Gavaskar hook Malcolm Marshal for 6s and 4s was a treat of early 80s, in a black and white TV set entire friends and family members would sit together to watch India bat against deadly bowling attack of West Indies Marshal, Holding - class fast bowlers
Sunny Gavaskar had all the shots in the book and could play the hook shot as well as anyone else you care to name. For a large part of his career he curbed many of the riskier strokes mainly because the Indian team relied heavily on its batting strengths since the bowling for most part of the 80s and 90s was not good enough to get an international side out twice in a test match . It would have been a dream if he could have played in today's Indian side opening with Rohit Sharma at the other end !

The most successful batsman against the full strength pace attack of WI was Graham Gooch, he scored over 2k runs averaging 45 with 6 centuries. Sunny was a fantastic batsman....to face these dangerous bowlers...it's a great thing ❤
Sunil was an incredible batsman. To face fast bowlers like Malcom Marshal & Holding without helmet is like climbing Himalayas without trekking poles
What brilliant batting by the two Mumbai batsmen
Yes undoubtedly Gavaskar is the finest batsman India has ever produced
What a beautiful memory.,sir sunil gavaskar got advice and blessings from his uncle mr.madhav mantri who told him to attack west indies fast bowlers.,I was studing in first year b com.,didnt go to college just to watch gavaskar equalling record of sir don bradman it was like a diwali festival in mumbai after scoring a century against the best fast bowling of world during those days.
Sunny bai was a legend

Narrotam Puri the best commentator, now we have to tolerate Bhogle’s antics
Thanks for upload
He is one the best batsmen who played without helmet against world fastest bowlers.
Sunny just murdered the fearsome trio, Marshal, Holding and Garner, to score a 100 in 93 balls! An innings which might even make King Richards proud. Sunny was all class and determination. 💓💖💓
Gavaskar was a pain in the backside for many teams.
Garner did not play this series. Roberts played only the 5th and 6th tests. Marshall, Holding, Davis and Daniel played most of the tests.
@@srikantshankar7595it was 5 test series only not six.
Please share the Ahmedabad Test first innings.. The Little Master scored a scintillating 90 in the first innings
