i recently just used 60 dollars on xbox gold to specifically play fortnite on my xbox. i usually played on pc. linked to xbox and tried to get on saw this, emailed epic games. got a respond saying they're looking into it and will get a resolution asap
You don't have to get gold again. Just make sure you have on the account to share gold. Then you can just make another xbox account play on it without having to purchase another gold membership.

This is new to me, never heard of using google account to play on PC. I should try this tomorrow and see what I get from it but have you tried to recover password using your gmail email and see if that will get you to the right spot.

This does not help because when you launch the game on Xbox it takes you right to the error page. There is no where to type in a new login or to make a new account. I switched from PS4 to Xbox and used my ps4 login that’s why I’m getting the error message. I would make a new account if I could find the screen where it originally asked me to type in my login or make a new account on the Xbox. If you go to their website and try to disconnect accounts it says contact customer support. And they do not respond to emails. Is there a way to get to the screen where you type in your login info on the Xbox??
With Xbox you could go to their website and unlink the account. But since they changed the options to be able to do that it has been more difficult for people to accomplish. You could just make another account on your Xbox in the mean time to play the game. Yes it's not on your original Xbox account but at least you will be able to play the game since on Xbox one can share gold on the console.

Why did you unlink it? Epic respose: If you receive this error when attempting to launch Fortnite, it means that your account is locked out of playing on PS4. In order to play on that platform, you will need to unlink the PSN ID you are attempting to play on from your Epic account, and then re-link it to a new Epic account.

True you can't cross lay with Xbox & PS4 but everything would still transfer, could just play ps4 and not unlink the Xbox. Seems like Epic doesn't like you unlinking it when you link& earn/pay for anything.

I've seen few reports of this one that all ended in dead ends. Try making a totally seperate account for PC with a different email and see if you can login and play.

I'm guessing you mean on PC. When you load th game, select log out. And try signing in. If you still with the original login do not quit to game just go bacc to the menu and select logout again.

No I did not create a new account on Xbox, only unlink my Xbox account from my epic account from the website myself (took about 10secs) and I was up and playing with no problems on the XBOX.

IT's automated on Epic Games' End. It's just an auto-responder that says "thank you for submitting issue" followed by another email stating it is not being monitored. I'm furious because I just purchased this game for xbox and cannot play. I'm disputing with my credit card to return the game as well

It seems as though most peole still having this problem are the ones who made in-game purchases. Unfortunately you will need to contact Epic since anything without them will cause reset your purchases and I know that is something you don't want to do. And alot of people are reporting it may take them a month before they even respond to you.

XBOX has problems when you link the account most of the time. I solved it by unlinking my account from my epic account. Mind you this could cause you account to get reset and the lost of any in-game purchases.
Then you are going to have to use that method now. Some did say the removed the option for you to unlink yourself but since my accounts no longer link didn't have to worry about it. From what I heard, the response time for unlinking the accounts is not good.

Similar events and what got alot of people here. You can unlink your account from your Xbox but that will reset stats and items and more then likely also additional purchases.
For PSN, I don't think so. For XBOX it says you can't if you don't do it from the start. There's a warning sign that usually comes up. The problem that many others ran into as well as myself is if you do we got the error mention in the video.

I've seen a few people have this error. This is a server side issue. People said resetting their modem/gateway help but in all honesty I don't think that actually helped. The server is temporarily over loaded and it just happens to work after some time has passed. The only thing my test have shown is that when this happens is ghost your connection, meaning your partially connected, enough to make other attempts respond with the error, but not enough to play the game.

I'm unsure how. It's a online only game and you saying you don't need to be online (xbox live). Don't see how that would ever work. Unless you was playing the other mode.
The game says that? Look at your privacy settings on your xbox. Making sure it allows you to play with others ...etc. If everything checcs out, contact Xbox Help services.

well you will need to make a epic account to be able to link Xbox to ps4 but a lot of people are still having problems. So I would proceed with caution since once linked a lot of people are unable to play on Xbox once linked.

This will either locc or reset your account. So far it's only supported between PC and PS4 and even then it can be glitchy. There's a few people who got it working on Xbox but most of them do not.
I'm able to switch bacc and forth with no problem. Once the account is banned from console Epic current stance is that a new Epic account is required before linking your account to that console. Experiences of others says something still doesn't help.
I've heard severally people say that work. I just logged out and logged bacc in and was good to go as well. This just goes to show you, if you on PC; keep the installation file on our harddrive for a while.... just in case.
At this time no. Epic currently doesn't have an option for that on the accounts. You can not transfer "most" between accounts. VB's definitely can not be transferred as far as I know even with unconventional options.
I did the second method now it tells me that I cannot verify the email address for my new account as the verification code is linked to my Xbox account. Anyway you can fix that?
Let me make sure I got the whole picture, you trying to play on pc, can't verify email because code is link to your xbox account but xbox don't have verification codes.
Well kinda Basically I played on xbox for a while and recently got a PC and tried to sign in on the email I used for my Xbox account and it gave me that message. If you go to epics website and login you should be able to unlink it form there but mind you there's a change to lost stats and any purchases made in the game. So proceed with caution.
Hi fortnight server would not work, all I did was go into another game made sure it worked then pressed the ps button on the control and held it in for one minute then let it connect and it let me play fortnight straight away

Ok wow that's weird, in the beginning you had to sync an account to play on PSN. Unsure if that's change but you might as well try it. I would suggest making sure the email on your psn is different then one used on epic.

This is a weird error. Basically it's Epic bot protection. NO I'm not accusing you of using a bot but just informing what the error is. Epic official response to this error is that the username is in use but many people still having the issue. f you located on say a college/school or something that has alot of computer at one place the chances of this error increase. Let me know if you on a network system like that.

I've been playing mostly on XB1 lately so it shouldn't be a server error. Did you connected you account with an epic account? It gives you that option when you first load the game and tells you if you don't do it now you will not be able to do it in the future.

If they ever linked the account to a PS4 account before and unlinked it would give an error about platform can't play. If you getting that error a new epic account is most likely required. If you getting another error lease let me know
Changing your email may still link any account with the old one still. so changing it wouldn't really help you. You should be able to change email address through the website.

But you xbox info makes another Epic separate account if you don't link it in order to play the game and record stats.

So when you go to epics website and login. What do you see when you go the the "Connected Accounts" Section?
It says my Xbox live account name and underneath it says "contact us to disconnect this service"

Most problems occur when you link the Xbox account. Once link can no longer play on xbox. Do you mostly play on pc or xbox?

I've seen a few people have this error. This is a server side issue. People said resetting their modem/gateway help but in all honesty I don't think that actually helped. The server is temporarily over loaded and it just happens to work after some time has passed. The only thing my test have shown is that when this happens is ghost your connection, meaning your partially connected, enough to make other attempts respond with the error, but not enough to play the game.

In the first builds of the game it stated that you only get one chance to link your xbox account to pc. There is a possibility that this has been changed but have you ever played it on the xbox account already before linking it?

I'm unsure how. It's a online only game and you saying you don't need to be online (xbox live). Don't see how that would ever work. Unless you was playing the other mode.

The game says that? Look at your privacy settings on your xbox. Making sure it allows you to play with others ...etc. If everything checcs out, contact Xbox Help services.

I think PSN still requires it to be linked to play but if you need to unlink it I found doing it from the website itself is a much more easier way.

well you will need to make a epic account to be able to link Xbox to ps4 but a lot of people are still having problems. So I would proceed with caution since once linked a lot of people are unable to play on Xbox once linked.

This will either locc or reset your account. So far it's only supported between PC and PS4 and even then it can be glitchy. There's a few people who got it working on Xbox but most of them do not.

I'm able to switch bacc and forth with no problem. Once the account is banned from console Epic current stance is that a new Epic account is required before linking your account to that console. Experiences of others says something still doesn't help.

Epic official response is the account is already blocced from that console for 1 reason or another. They not specific as to why in any way.

the easiest way is to reinstall the game and sign in back... trust me 100 percent works...
Please specify if on pc or a console, this didn't work previously on console before.

I've heard severally people say that work. I just logged out and logged bacc in and was good to go as well. This just goes to show you, if you on PC; keep the installation file on our harddrive for a while.... just in case.

How do you change your email?
Just make a new email account for now until they fix the issue. Once the email is registered usually will not unlink it.

At this time no. Epic currently doesn't have an option for that on the accounts. You can not transfer "most" between accounts. VB's definitely can not be transferred as far as I know even with unconventional options.

You may need to do a 3rd account. I've never heard of that happening. I'm guessing you already tried to unlink the account.

Let me make sure I got the whole picture, you trying to play on pc, can't verify email because code is link to your xbox account but xbox don't have verification codes.
Well kinda Basically I played on xbox for a while and recently got a PC and tried to sign in on the email I used for my Xbox account and it gave me that message. If you go to epics website and login you should be able to unlink it form there but mind you there's a change to lost stats and any purchases made in the game. So proceed with caution.
Hi fortnight server would not work, all I did was go into another game made sure it worked then pressed the ps button on the control and held it in for one minute then let it connect and it let me play fortnight straight away
Basically sounds like you just reset the game and force Fornite to try to reconnect to the servers. For PS4 owners this help people in the future, Thank you for sharing.

Ok wow that's weird, in the beginning you had to sync an account to play on PSN. Unsure if that's change but you might as well try it. I would suggest making sure the email on your psn is different then one used on epic.

You can still use it but looks like only available on the platform you paid for it on. Once this error is gone that should fix that problem though.

This is a weird error. Basically it's Epic bot protection. NO I'm not accusing you of using a bot but just informing what the error is. Epic official response to this error is that the username is in use but many people still having the issue. f you located on say a college/school or something that has alot of computer at one place the chances of this error increase. Let me know if you on a network system like that.

I've been playing mostly on XB1 lately so it shouldn't be a server error. Did you connected you account with an epic account? It gives you that option when you first load the game and tells you if you don't do it now you will not be able to do it in the future.

If they ever linked the account to a PS4 account before and unlinked it would give an error about platform can't play. If you getting that error a new epic account is most likely required. If you getting another error lease let me know

Changing your email may still link any account with the old one still. so changing it wouldn't really help you. You should be able to change email address through the website.

Supposedly yes you can once they fix the multiple platform link. Last I heard this was suppose to be fix earlier this month but yet it has not. I have no heard of any updates of when this will be corrected. I'm also wanting to play this on pc mostly.
