I don't need no backup camera even if tight cities like Kuala Lumpur. Lousy drivers, even with 360 camera they can still ram into something static and stationary. Speaking from experience.
I apologize, as a Gen Z member. I myself don't fall under majority of categorization associated with Gen Z cause I was raised right, it's miserable being stuck in the middle of it. I'd never even purchase a car with a backup camera cause I believe as a philosophy it shouldn't be the ultimate goal to just not have to think or sharpen skills or work your mind. Humans need to reconnect with their own senses and the earth to be fulfilled.
The first problem could be solved if you actually know what you are doing. These gaskets last forever if you put them in with high temp silicone. And the leakage could be fixed with a new coolant container for like 30 bucks.
Not difficult to replace worn parts but use genuine quality parts. You don't buy a BMW and watch the fuel guage, you watch the rev counter, otherwise buy a Fiesta
1. Do the job right or get a knowledgeable mechanic. 2. Have a lighter foot or buy a 323 or 325 or even a diesel if u can’t afford it and 3. Do you really need a backup cam on a very small coupe?

As someone who has an e46 330ci 05 if you just do it right and don’t let the car sit with issues. You’ll be golden, besides parts on these cars are cheap
I own 2005 325xi with 103k miles currently. No leaks. It does drink gas, but not $100 a week worth. Depending on the grade and price, $40-70. And backup cameras were not standard back then, if the technology was even available then.

If someone needs a backup camera, emphasis on the word "need", they really cannot drive sufficiently. Parallel parking is actually a skill necessary to complete ones drivers exam. It's really about having, or not having, spatial awareness. If one needs a camera, they don't have adequate spatial awareness.

I parallel park every day picking up my kids from school... And I do it in a manual e46, backing up a hill. Dude obviously just got his license or something and just doesn't know how it's done. Trick is to back in first, not nose first.
You should see my ZHP it has no leaks. If you replace the expansion tank it won’t leak anymore and it might prevent it from overheating in the future. I did have to replace the oil filter housing gasket because it was doing the BMW thing and leaking so yeah, maintain your car and it will be fine.
check for cracks in the expantion tank if you dont put antifreeze and dont drive it in the 40 degrees cold, i had to help my dad replace the expantion tank not too long ago bc of that, also bmw plastic yk
Install a catch-can delete stock ccv system you sir will never have a leaking valve cover again it leaks coz too much pressure in crankcase blowing out the gaskets I learned the hard way
It’s quite bizarre to see Others complain about bmw leaking oil I had 1994 730i and 2001 530i and 1992 525i none of them had that problem and I kept them for 10-13 years .
the first and second one are just user error. Change out 20 year old plastic and rubbers because they crack (simple preventative maintenance) as for the backup camera not working thats all your own wiring, tap into reverse lights and wire it to ur head unit and done

All the things you dont like about the car is litterally fixable, leaks especially thats just general maintenence, and check your engine for evap leaks, it will cause you to burn more fuel, i have been tinkering with dozens of e46s since 2015 they have been the best gas milage vehicles i owned.. and a real m3 would have the backup cam and sensors

If you gotta fill it every week it needs maintenance, new fuel filter/ cleaner for the injectors and redo the hoses you'll probably get close to 28 mpg
I had one with 140k miles, i replaced everything and maintained it properly, one of my favorite cars i owned, this guy is trying to make content but it is misleading, these are great cars

I have an e46 and i thought id just do the valve cover gasket without a torque wrench and sure enough i still had a leak but then i did it properly with a torque wrench and havent had any leak since
I have an E34 Touring with an M50B25TU engine and a ZF automatic transmission. This is a very comfortable car, it will be 30 years happy birthday next year, the original mileage is 250,000 miles. Within a year of ownership, I replaced the cylinder head with gasket due to a crack. Then three times (!) I did a rebuild of the cooling system. First the radiator, then the thermostat, then the pump. Now there are pipes and a stove. Older BMWs love to be a hassle with cooling problems, so do it right away and don't skimp on it.

Valvecover is going to be a yearly thing, just get good at replacing it. The expansion tank (really the entire coolant system) is also a regular maintenance item. There are kits for either. The expansion tank itself is maybe $20. Replace it before you wish that you did. As for the 93, can't help you there. Good motor needs good fuel.
Haha I’ve replaced my valve cover twice now. Used some RTV the second time and it doesn’t look like it will leak anytime soon. Also did the expansion tank and whole cooling system. Went with all OEM parts. Cost me almost $500 but hopefully that will last me a lifetime
@@giolascala7 You'll be good awhile. Main thing with these cars is to get ahead of problems before they're actually problems. The rear subframe should be reinforced if you plan to really beat on the car (track days basically) but otherwise it looks like you've got it sorted at the moment.

Replace all o rings on coolant system replace resevoir and two hard pipes....if do thermostat and water pump i have no trouble with my zhp leaking and replace ccv system valve cover is leaking due to pressure in the cylinder head better if you do the m56 valve conversion with the m56 air distribution and oil dipstick to eleminate ccv
Hoses must be replaced. This car is not a new parts of it are not eternal. Camera is not a E46 part so if it doesn't work you need to check your mistakes while installing it. The only thing where I can say bro you're damn right it is about ⛽️ ⛽️ ⛽️ 😂😂😂 with full tank which is 65l (~17 gallons) drive about 450-500km (~280-310m). 1l gas costs about 1,85€ and I tank always 55-60 I have 100-110€ to pay all the time 😂

Idk my 2000 323 only has a small power steering leak from my rack n pinion boots n seals. Everything else is leak free and only have to fill up my tank once every two weeks. These are great cars and easy to work on but definitely the most cramped engine compared to previous models.

One thing I know about buying most bmw is that they were probably used HEAVILY e34, e36, e46, e60, e90 it's hard to find one in good condition

Yeah! So far I’ve replaced all of those parts with OEM except for the m56 valve cover. My m54 one has been fine and hasn’t cracked

Idk my 2000 323 only has a small power steering leak from my rack n pinion boots n seals. Everything else is leak free and only have to fill up my tank once every two weeks. These are great cars and easy to work on but definitely the most cramped engine compared to previous models.
