Sniffed through multiple videos but to no success. I honestly had no expectations but tried to take out the lint. It actually worked. You're a life saver man.
Thanks a lot. I used a sharpened matchstick (be gentle and patient) and eventually got some fluff out and that solved the problem. Both my iPod cables have been reluctant to connect for a while - in other words my iPod was trying to tell me something and I wasn't listening...!
Thanks. Was planning on going to Apple Store but you save me 5 bucks for a trip to the store. It actually work cleaning it out. It was too much dust in the charger port.
Thanks was freaking out this morning when it wasn''t charging after my Desktop and Fridge freezer dying I just don't have the £££ at the moment to replace or fix anything. God send thank you so much!
air compressor works great too. my iPhone kept having issues offnand on after trying toothbrush method but after compressed air it's worked great ever since
Yeah I had forgotten about the toothpick / toothbrush solution. I keep my iPod Touch in my pocket when I'm out and about and a lot of lint was building up in the charge port. I would add that it really helps to utilize this solution under a bright light so you can actually see the lint you're trying to remove.
I cleaned up the usb cable and switched to the android wall adapter to charge my iPod touch. It charged successfully well. Thanks for all of your help.
My problem is defiantly not my cable but the ipod itself only allows to charge if connected to my computer. Used to be able to use an adaptor for years then it chose to only allow when connected to a pc even if I change the cable.
I bought an ipod touch 6th generation, the guy who sold said it need battery replacement but the thing is in 10 minutes it s battery drains but when I plug it in for 5 minutes it gets full. Do you think it can be an ipod issue
The cables work great but in my experience with my wife and her phone they shit out randomly with no warning. She's gone through like 10 crap cables. I spent some money on some good quality Anker ones and it's been a year now without issue. Buy reputable cables guys.
I have a old iPod that I just found and it has like a shiny case and can you like make a video where you charge it cause I don't know where like I don't know like how are people charging it cause this thing is old Like it says it charges from the bottom but my charger doesn't fit on ITIT says like lightning 1 it's called it's called it's It's supposed to be a lightning 1
Wow thanks so much for this video! I was thinking that I might have to buy a new ipod, and then started picking in there. I couldn't believe how much lint kept coming out.
I have an itouch wit da wide opening an it’s doesn’t charge I plug it into ma ihome charging dock an it jus shows an apple then da whole screen goes white an it keeps repeating dat please help thank you
Have tried your fix but no joy. Mine keeps saying 'No Siri because not connected to internet' which it most definitely is and then says 'Ipod disabled try again in 15 minutes or 5 minutes').
It's nuts to think a brand new cord could be the issue, but when I angle my other cable right it works. wtf. I had a store check if there was any dirt in there. none.
yeah, mine too. the Icon says it is charging, but nothing is really happening. I left it plugged for the whole night thinking that it will charge eventually, but nothing happened :(
I have an iPod Classic. It charges when in my Bose Sound Dock, or if I connect the iPod to the USB port of my computer. However, I cannot get it to charge using any of my USB wall adaptors. I wonder if it requires a specific Apple charger. I do find this bothersome when travelling because I have to use my computer and while plugged in, I cannot use it because it goes into some syncing/charging mode.
The primary reason a good battery won't hold charge is that the Hard Drive indexing system has been damaged by charging the ipod via a computer USB port and then pulling it out but not ejecting it. Fix it by plugging it into a windows based computer without iTunes installed. Then after the driver is detected and installed the windows computer will say it detected a memory with a damaged filing system and asks if it should automatically attempt to repair it. Say yes. It will repair it. Check if you can see the files on the drive. Then EJECT the drive and wait for the message it can be safely removed. Then unplug it. It will charge and work correctly after that. DON'T UNPUG IT WITHOUT EJECTING THE IPOD AGAIN !
I took my husband's old IPOD and cleaned out the port area, and now instead of showing the constant red battery, it's now showing green in charge mode. Now I will see if it completely charges
It only charges in my computer USB, but will not work with my charger. I tried all the other ones in my house. I even tried my brother/mother's, didn't work, I tried my charge on their phones it worked. So what does that mean, my wall charge use to work for me so why doesn't it for me now, but on my mother/brother phone does? I want my charge to work for trips after all and long car rides. So people saying "you can use your computer" Ya, but will not work when on road trips or want to take pics.
Mine works on my moms charger but hers is too powerful it'll mess my iPod up and it works when it's completely dead then once I start using it and it's still plugged in the symbol is off. Idk what's wrong with it 😔

Does anyone know about the middle tab on the battery ribbon cable, is it a battery data line or a temp sensor? Thanks!
My problem is defiantly not my cable but the ipod itself only allows to charge if connected to my computer. Used to be able to use an adaptor for years then it chose to only allow when connected to a pc even if I change the cable.
