I want Mittens and Wiggleby to be Nathan's Schmando. Alien cat boyfriends on their 5th anniversary vacation to earth. Wiggleby always comes off as serious and strict, but he has a genuine love for Mittens. As their vacation goes on and he realizes no one cares that Mittens isn't in disguise, he loosens up and lets himself enjoy his boyfriend's goofiness.
@Momma Nessy@@selfdestructivecat4922 Not even kidding - Solar Opposites (of Rick & Morty fame), did a really good job of that premise with their buddy comedy duo. Laziness is just an overabundance of efficiency. And if it gets you the art you want, and doesn't like break any laws or whatever, it's basically fair game. Just get art done
As far as I’m concerned it’s just more tools in the toolbox. People call light boxes or the grid method in traditional art cheating, some people say the entirety of digital art is cheating, I think it’s just a slight bitterness that they learned “the hard way” and think that’s the only way to go. Use the shortcuts!
My art teacher told me that digital art was lazy because you could use the tools rather than have to master the techniques to make a piece look decent. Advice and criticism should serve two purposes, improve the end result or speed up the process. Tracing over the 3D models does both. Criticism over that being "lazy" does neither. That means they aren't offering criticism, they're just complaining.

I know you're joking but Jacob really does make sense as a bard. Or I dunno, maybe a sorcerer or a warlock or something, but he's definitely just charismatic enough to get into Situations and have a string of terrible luck that leads to highly embarrassing Happenings
I simp for the background character. I don’t care who he is, what he does, I just need to know he’s here, and everything is gonna be fine. Main character energy. Honestly tho, I would read this 1000%.
Jacobs piece has perfect energy for a Tragic moment in a show- a former villain turned anti-hero who the audience has finally grown to appreciate, only for him to actually be fully devoured by the Cubes, which we learn are created by the final villain. With his tragic death, He completes his redemption arc, saving the heroes and motivating them to finally fight the Dark Lord of Cyberspace, Isometrikos
You know i never noticed, but i fully love how thanks to the beard, half the time Nathan talking *visually* does not render his mouth like an old ps1 character lmao
Jacob's pose looks like the person in the back is picking up bugs to show to their friend while the person in front just wants to continue walking and is kinda tired of stopping to look at bugs
Had this paused right at the start, and couldn't stop laughing at how the crew all have wildly different looks. Karina looks like she's done with you, Julia looks chill as fuck, Jacob looks like he's having a photo taken, and Nathan looks like he's high as fuck and scared you'll notice.
Nathan needs to partner with a good comic writer and make Mittens and Wiggleby a real thing. Edit: I want all of these to be comics, they all came up with such good stories.
Yo, seeing the drawfee crew actually just chilling and doing their "Iiii'm (insert name)" thing on-camera, it brings a whole different vibe than when the character portraits energetically pop up. It's wild and I dig it
karina's pose reminds me of the genre of meme images where it's generic silhouette characters erupting into chaos over a game of monopoly or something, and then people come by and redraw it to be fanart of whatever series
Nathan: "So I was thinking Cat Person!" Me despite clearly hearing Nathans voice and seeing him explain it checks if this isn't Karina drawing after all 😅

He was waiting for the “who needs em?” meme irl
You guys have no idea how important this episode is to show people that they are allowed to use 3D models for their art and the art is just as valid. Like, idk if this means as much to others, but it means a lot to me who uses them to make sure I keep the proportions correct. You're all angels.
I've traced HeroForge models, and I need to stop feeling bad about it.
Jacob: maybe if their faces are recorded they finally won’t take me so far into meme town.
I can't wait to see they break Jacob on camera, its gonna be great!
@@dudumangs7140 I would have loved to see the reaction from the tarot card episode when he drew the fool. That was the funniest thing.
@@rosieacious that's just what I had in mind lol sad how that's probably not gonna happen again.
But in Karina we trust that she will lead the squad so they can bully Jacob on camera.
The most surprising part for me is that Julia did not make the connivence store.
Julia actually was one of the lead programmers that designed Clip Studio Paint, she just didn't feel like flexing that hard on everyone.
Them all looking straight forward, Nathan smiling through his beard, Jacob idling like a Sim who's gotten stuck, Julia making direct eye contact from the back, and Karina looking super uncomfortable is oddly perfect
I love how throughout the whole intro Karina just looks on the absolute VERGE of saying "who needs 'em" if anyone gives her the smallest window to do so.
suggestion: give each other your rough sketches for an art piece with no additional context or just a vague title and see what the other can come up with using your sketch as a base (ideally a very rough thumbnail sketch)
Ooh this is cool
Yaaaasssss!
That's a great idea, thought most of them usually have very clean sketches
It would be awesome to take this to the next level and have the second person do refined line art and a third person do the final render
This is a great idea
I want Mittens and Wiggleby to be Nathan's Schmando.
Alien cat boyfriends on their 5th anniversary vacation to earth. Wiggleby always comes off as serious and strict, but he has a genuine love for Mittens. As their vacation goes on and he realizes no one cares that Mittens isn't in disguise, he loosens up and lets himself enjoy his boyfriend's goofiness.
You somehow made the already perfect concept and story even better.
@Momma Nessy@@selfdestructivecat4922 Not even kidding - Solar Opposites (of Rick & Morty fame), did a really good job of that premise with their buddy comedy duo. Except they also have two minis they pretend are their kids. The gags are about how lazy & sloppy they are at fitting in with humans. Until they just flat out give up
Also, now that I think about it. Invader Zim & Gir vs Dib. Similar too
Everyone’s Hot Guy P.I. this, Moonpaw that, where’s the Mittens & Wiggleby fandom?

"Man in cube" is a sculpture I can easily imagine being shown in outside any Modern Art Museum.
The way you've phrased this makes it sound like you are the person in the cube.
it does look pretty sick
Anyone else jump-scared by seeing them all onscreen unexpectedly?
i thought i was about to get a stern talking to
Same, I was already half asleep until I opened my eyes and was pleasantly surprised to see all four of them! (Outside of stream)
I set my phone down and was grabbing something and when I turned back I saw all of their faces and it felt so personal 😭 but I love seeing all of their faces too
oh my god the absolute relief i felt when nathan started drawing over the 3d models... i was always told it was lazy to do that so i feel bad when i do it with csp, but the scenes are so big and detailed and i can't structure it properly without the guide. this made me feel a whole lot better about it.
Laziness is just an overabundance of efficiency. And if it gets you the art you want, and doesn't like break any laws or whatever, it's basically fair game. Just get art done
@@Erhannis based
As far as I’m concerned it’s just more tools in the toolbox. People call light boxes or the grid method in traditional art cheating, some people say the entirety of digital art is cheating, I think it’s just a slight bitterness that they learned “the hard way” and think that’s the only way to go. Use the shortcuts!
That's what the 3D models are for! It'd be a waste if you didn't use it
My art teacher told me that digital art was lazy because you could use the tools rather than have to master the techniques to make a piece look decent. Advice and criticism should serve two purposes, improve the end result or speed up the process.
Tracing over the 3D models does both. Criticism over that being "lazy" does neither. That means they aren't offering criticism, they're just complaining.
They should really embrace the stare-deeply-into-the-camera thing and make us terrified as hell
"we're in a desert"
Actually, umbrella sounds really reasonable in a desert for blocking out the sun.
They stubbornly refuse to switch to parasol sales
Hence the "Umbr" in "Umbrella" for the latin Umbra meaning shade.
@@zippydipity42 in Spanish doesn't work the same since the word for umbrella is paraguas (Para-aguas) wich translates to "for water" or "water stopper"
@@Nehu_22 It works in "sombrilla", because it can also mean paraguas in some places.
they exclusively sell transparent ones
"Julia, you didn't make the whole convenience store, did you? Because I wouldn't put that past you..." I love Drawfee I love Julia
Nathan’s graphic novel could be called: New York Kitty (get it like in New York City)
I get it!
Dad joke
NYK
I never stood still at how the four of them are the perfect stereotypical RPG party. Nathan gets a big sword and shield, Julia gets an axe that's bigger than her, Karina gets knives because of course she does, and Jacob was last to pick so he's got the guitar
Honestly tho, I would read this 1000%.
he’s the one that doesn’t talk, is just staring either planking or standing stiffly in the background, but he’s the favorite.
Nathan's beard is so thick that it looks like his mouth isn't moving when he talks
I scrolled back up to check, and yupppp
Omg, I literally thought the video was lagging at some parts when he talked!
The dream
@@Caitilizzie i thought that too
Jacobs piece has perfect energy for a Tragic moment in a show- a former villain turned anti-hero who the audience has finally grown to appreciate, only for him to actually be fully devoured by the Cubes, which we learn are created by the final villain. With his tragic death, He completes his redemption arc, saving the heroes and motivating them to finally fight the Dark Lord of Cyberspace, Isometrikos
_flashback to when his mother was chased off of a cliff by cubes when he was a child_
@@bobshnitzel2608 that reply made me chuckle very hard.
Isometrikos is an excellent cyber villain name
You know i never noticed, but i fully love how thanks to the beard, half the time Nathan talking *visually* does not render his mouth like an old ps1 character lmao
Suggestion (again): Draw "de-makes" of modern cartoons. Instead of a 90s cartoon remade today, a modern cartoon if it had been made in the 90s.
oOoh !! This !!!
Jacob's pose looks like the person in the back is picking up bugs to show to their friend while the person in front just wants to continue walking and is kinda tired of stopping to look at bugs
Nathan: Great composition and colour
Jacob: The Good Inks (TM)
Karina: Anatomy expert
Julia: Asthetic Queen
The Four Horsemen of the Artpocalypse
No matter what Drawfee goes through, there will always be the good ol' "Hey, nice thing!" "Thanks....I don't keep it"
Had this paused right at the start, and couldn't stop laughing at how the crew all have wildly different looks. Karina looks like she's done with you, Julia looks chill as fuck, Jacob looks like he's having a photo taken, and Nathan looks like he's high as fuck and scared you'll notice.
OMGGG that's the most perfect description of the slightly cursed energy we were greeted with
The high drawfee council
I love how well Nathan timed his description of his thought process to his speeddraw. Made sure to do the reveal right when the drawing revealed it.
Nathan needs to partner with a good comic writer and make Mittens and Wiggleby a real thing.
Edit: I want all of these to be comics, they all came up with such good stories.
Jacob's could work better as a show I think
Yo, seeing the drawfee crew actually just chilling and doing their "Iiii'm (insert name)" thing on-camera, it brings a whole different vibe than when the character portraits energetically pop up. It's wild and I dig it
Karina’s coloring never fails to amaze me. She’s so good at choosing the right shades to really bring characters to life.
JACOB LOOKS UNCOMFORTABLE WHY IS THIS FUNNY TO ME 😭😂
the intros
The mortifying ordeal of being known
I'm glad someone else pointed this out. Jacob looks like he thinks he left the oven on the entire time.
@@kayce851 Which is so funny to me since the whole crew streams all the time. Buddy, this isn't your first time on camera!
Suggestion: Draw a Manga Cover based on a piece of media you enjoy. Chapter/Arc of a Book Series, TV show, movie, etc.
YALLS SHUD DEFO DO DIIS
YES I WANT THIS
Thats very good
A manga about the multiple Mary Poppinses
karina's pose reminds me of the genre of meme images where it's generic silhouette characters erupting into chaos over a game of monopoly or something, and then people come by and redraw it to be fanart of whatever series
draw your squad templates my beloved!!!
Nathan: "So I was thinking Cat Person!"
Me despite clearly hearing Nathans voice and seeing him explain it checks if this isn't Karina drawing after all 😅
this and the fact that nathan's first sketch looks EXACTLY like an aisha from neopets
This was such a fun idea. It was so neat to see everyone's unique style come out even when they were just posing the 3d models.
Karina's composition for Julia gives me very literal "it's raining men" vibes
I can't wait for Nathan's monthly serialized graphic novel, Bodega Cats
Honestly, these are four great short-run manga ideas. If you all published like, yearly short comic collections with one story each, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
I'm sold. I'm now a fan. The way they just have fun while doing art makes me wanna continue finding my own art.

Nathan's face in the intro is just phenomenal
He looked a bit nervous which was a little funny bc he’s such a smiley guy
*Phenomenal
@@PatLund autocorrect messed up again :(

"Forecast Says: Rain" is such a 10/10 anime title. You should totally turn that into a Kickstarter miniseries.
Karina’s original idea with the umbrellas made me think “It’s raining men!”
But I LOVED Julia’s idea for “Forecast says rain” and if she made it into a web comic and put it up on Webtoon I would TOTALLY read it!
Yeah the title is absolute genius!
Saaammmmeee, I'm not saying that Drawfee should break up or anything but if Julia wants to become a slice of life manga artist It'd be an easier pill to swallow lol
Me too, but I'd only change the title to "Forecast said rain" just because it'd be funny and fitting since they can't seem to sell the umbrellas
Me, as a clip studio paint user: YES APPRECIATE THE SPLENDOR OF VECTOR LAYER
I've had clip studio for months and I had no idea. I've been having fun with vector layers and it's changed my life
Im a new Clip Studio user, going in I thought this was just the cheap version of Photoshop CS, HOLY CRAP is it good
And I didn't even know what vector layers did until this video, its a fantastic program!
I actually really enjoy seeing their reactions to their prompts. For episodes like this, I hope we get face cam again.
Also seeing Jacob's Done Face™ when Julia said "roller derby duo" is the exact reason these type of episodes deserve face cam.
Everyone but Nathan: oh, yeah. I was just having fun. the controls were so easy!
Nathan: *sits quietly in the back with his cubes*
Same Nathan u_u
the way everyone was just staring just off from the camera in the begiing while julia --- the furthest from the camera--- speaks and acts like shes done this her whole life while the rest wait for their time to speak, its the true drawfee agenda
These guys are by far the best artists on RUclips. They don't just show off the work with music. They actually talk with you and express themselves and each others ideas. It makes me feel like I'm part of it. I love it so much
THANK YOU DRAWFEE!!!
Most of the intro was Nathan and Jacob making what I interpreted as HOSTILE eye contact and it was cracking me up
I already knew what they look like but jacob’s style 1000% screams “I draw really dope really fun cartoons”
Nathan looks like he is one haircut awat from running a tech tips channel on youtube.
this has shattered my reality. i always imagined them all sitting in an empty, featureless white room with nothing but a computer and recording equipment. this is more or less the way i always imagined them being arranged, though.
Saying it again:
Y’all should do a round robin of the Portrait of Dorian Gray; one artist does the original pretty man painting, and the others each take a turn building up the age and disfigurement.
This is so good!!!!
Julia: "I've never drawn before"
i CAN'T
one thing that i always love about drawfee videos is that it never matters when the video was posted, the energy is always the same and the content is always amazing
I find it funny that a lot of the compliments they are giving CSP sound like an ad, but as a user of the app it is actually just that good
Is it actually good? Also how much is it?
@@treedude4246 personally i really love it and def prefer it to photoshop
the PRO version is around 40-50 bucks, but they often have 50% off sales several times a year, so it's absolutely worth it to get an absolutely amazing art program for 20 bucks
Wait is it a one time payment or a subscription thing?? I’m definitely interested in getting it after this video 👀👀👀
Lol, prior to any actual drawing being done, Karina’s pose gave me a total Alice in Wonderland falling down the rabbit hole kind of vibe.
I got big, anime opening song in the early 90's vibes
Absolutely love every ep where the team gives each other poses, or characters, or anything like that. Just getting to see what each person does when given a base by one of the other members is always a delight
Really looking forward to the continued adventures of Mittens and Wiggleby.
Tbh I’m most excited for Karina’s Magical Girl story. But I have the single demand that Moonpaw MUST be a featured cameo
Seeing the faces of drawfee is always comforting
They do have some nice faces 😌
They're all so warm
As a casual fan of drawfee, this is the first time I’ve seen the crew irl. Y’all are adorable precious cinnamon rolls!
LOVE how Julia and Karina harmonized so well on “Wiggleby” 😂
The irl camera is so strange, but I’m kinda loving it 👀 it almost feels like a stream, but we don’t have to look at goofy and zagreus the whole time 😂💕
Jacob had a very intense amount of eye contact, lol
