My home town, and a wonderful place to live in the 50's and 60's, but now a shit hole due to Council mismanagement. It is truly heartbreaking to see it in its current state.
JCBAirmaster73 I agree that it's a national problem, and that changes in our shopping habits have had a detrimental impact on town-based shops, and market traders; But in our case, the boarded-up shops are a direct consequence of M.D.C opting to raise business rates, at a time when they should have instead been lowering them in order to stimulate local business growth. Which by anyone's definition is mismanagement. Incidentally, Ashfield Council did lower their business rates, with the net result that many Mansfield residents now prefer to shop at Sutton.

Nice to see Mansfield on video. It used to be a better town. I miss the indoor market. I have lived in Mansfield for 33 years. I love our new bus station. Good video. More, please.
it has its problems admittedly its not like it was in the 1980s. But compared to many places the people are friendly. Apparently Eastern Europeans are taking over tho?.....
