@@mrromantimothy A seal installed correctly is one thing, water chemistry and balancing it all the time is another story. Doesn't matter how well you install a seal, if the chemistry is way off. it will be months when that seal leaks. A yearly check is a good idea.....and, balancing the chemicals is also a good idea.
Great video. I assume this is a single speed pump? On a two speed pump don't forget to mark & remove the back of the casing before removing the stator, otherwise you will bend the switch lever & your pump will not change speeds.
At the end of the video you said to make sure it spins. I have a problem where it doesn’t spin. I tried tightening the impeller. If impeller is fully tightened it doesn’t spin even without cover. If I add cover to wet end I can get the impeller to spin with a shim in the impeller shaft but with back end it is too tight with hat. Thoughts?
The time you put the right silicone on and then install it back in, it will be cured enough with no issues. Make sure to use the water proof clear silicone. Link is in the description on the video.
hi there, I got a 2 speed balboa pump that I has been repaired a few days ago with a new bearing, when I installed the pump, it only works on either low or high speed and then if I press the Jets button again, it will turn our hot tub off. We have switched the black and red wiring and it's still the same thing. it's only working as a single speed and not a continuous 2 speed cycle pump. could it be a wiring issue when they changed the bearing on our pump?
Is this pump 1 or Pump 2? When you push the topside button once, low speed comes on? Second push turns it to high speed? Third push would turn it off anyway. what pump do you have? Can you take a few pictures of the wiring and the pump itself and send them to info@vippools.ca? Thanks
@@VIPPoolsandSpas we only have 1 pump that does 2 speeds. we push once, low, push again it turns off with no high speed. switch the wiring, push topside, only high speed, push topside again, turns off.
@@Leena-pv9el The board is set to one speed. Sounds like. There's a wire somewhere not connected right. Send me a good picture of the board, the schematics behind the pack door and the wiring on the back of the pump. Send to info@vippools.ca
The number you gave me (315-1220), you can google that for your area and find the parts no problem. Some links are on the bottom of the description including the bearing for that pump.
Yearly hot tub maintenance and checks will caught a seal leaking before it can damage the bearing.

Lube the long through bolt threads with anti seize compound to facilitate removing them in the future without breaking them.

Good video helped with my seal repair thanks.
You're welcome!

Too tight. Maybe wrong impeller or seal?
are the two bearing the same size on the motor?
Yes. Same size in the front and the back.
Do you really need to let dry silicone before reinstalling and starting the pump with the water in?

Where do I find the bearings seals and o rings and a 315-1220 6hp housing mine is broke by screw

Hey there , I cannot get the front flange off. I tried banging it off. It is frozen on there. Any suggestions?
Watch another video on changing a seal or bearing and you might see something that will help you out. Make sure all the screws are out or removed.
Are the bearings replaced on this video the same for a WATERWAY EXECUTIVE 48 pump? Thank you.
The back part on the 48 is different. But same idea. We should have a video for both.
