I'll compare the rap line to a fight...
-Suga is the one that will knock your teeth out.
-Hope is the one to pick your teeth up off the floor and make sure you can still eat.
-RM will counsel you on how to keep your other teeth.

He’s attempting to dethrone the mad king (blonde Suga)that’s at the top bragging. The main take away is when he said he got everything he ever wanted but he needs a reality check to stay grounded. Suga is being self aware to the danger of the celebrity life and trying to stay humble. Also the guys fighting in the back were Jin and JK. I recommend watching the live performance at muster sowoozoo where all the members perform this song because we rarely get to hear the vocalists rap
A really good quote I saw about the difference in their styles is that Suga will tell you you’re sh*t, RM will explain why you are sh*t and Jhope will tell you it’s okay to be sh*t lol

Actually bts members support each other in all their solo work.
In this music video for example 2 bts members make a cameo appearance.. the 2 people who were fighting behind agust were bts members Jin and Jungkook. Jhope also visited his set and brought their crew a coffee truck for the shoot.
In jhope's More music video, V makes an appearance at the back.
So daechwita is name of a type of korean military music that's played at the arrival of the King or his army. The song actually uses a daechwita sample for the beat.
This music video is very symbolic for agust d. He is basically saying the old version of him (the king with blonde hair) who rose to the "throne" should be killed cus he got arrogant. The new version of him is the the rebel coming in the car. The underdog who kills the old version.
The song was purely written for auditory enjoyment according to suga. But at the same time you can see him talking about bts's success and his position in the global pop scene. Bang pd is their label chairman and "the father" of bts. He basically took these 7 boys in and let them do what they wanted with their music. He don't act like a chairman with bts...they all call him older brother and he cooks meals for them and shit. Even when they were broke and bankrupt bang pd refused to give up on bts and used money from his own pocket to help bts make their music.
RM does cuss a lot compared to jhope, specially in english... the member who cusses the least in music is jhope. Suga is very violent in his music. Uses gang language a lot.
But in real life everyday conversation jhope cusses the most and suga the least...😂😂😂
You piss jhope off and he cusses up a storm.
I hope you check out more agust d. He is going on tour in April may in US and several Asian countries.
Some songs from the rapline of bts (rm, suga and jhope)
    1. UGH
    2. outro tear
    3. Cyphers series 1 to 4
    4. Outro her.
There is an agust d song featuring RM called 'Strange' in his D2 mixtape, the same one daechwita is on... It's an amazing song critiqing capitalism.
Also the rapline has a trilogy of songs about Jungian psychological concepts
    Intro Persona by RM
    Interlude Shadow by Suga
    Outro Ego by Jhope.
I hope you check out all three togther cus they have music videos and are interconnected. All three songs are self reflections.

RM definitely cusses in his songs and is a little more vulgar than Suga in his earlier mixtapes. And we're here for it. 😁 He's chilled out a bit with age and having different things to worry/talk about.
I think Suga is more aggressive in his disdain for those that spoke down to them in his earlier songs. They've all learned to ignore and forgive the haters and concentrate on their own happiness.
Interlude: Shadow is a great song by Suga with him reflecting on who he is now that they're so famous.

  • @biru-kelabu-0821
    @biru-kelabu-0821 Год назад +44

Some of my favorite Suga/Agust D songs:
    * People - his observation about people
    * The Last - he talks about battling depression in the past
    * First Love - his piano/music
    * Shadow - his relationship with fame and success
    * So Far Away - about dreams
    * Intro: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life - he uses basketball as a metaphor for life and as the sounds in this track
    * Set Me Free - just a relaxing song
Suga is a versatile producer, for his own songs, for several BTS songs, and for other artists. He has also produced relaxing background music for their game (BTS Island: In the Seom), ring tones for Samsung (orchestral in 2021 and funky in 2022), a tropical remix of "My Universe" (BTS x Coldplay collab), an atmospheric soundtrack for their webtoon ("Stay Alive" by Jungkook), and many more.

To be honest Suga wasn't really pissed off in this track, he really was just trolling and making fun of haters, he also said he knows the fans like that side of him so he did it. In his first mixtape he was for sure pissed off though. Chill songs I'd say maybe Seesaw, People, 28 and he features and produced a song for Psy (Gangnam Style) called "That That", you'll see a different side to him.

I've heard that Daechwita means kinda like "king is coming". Daechwita is a representation of Suga’s constant battle against himself and how the desire to achieve his dreams have given him the courage to do everything to achieve being on top, however, the emptiness he feels when he now has everything he wants. At the end of the video the old version of him shot the new him, because he still wanted to be himself

I'd say it's the other way around. New AgustD shot old AgustD from 2016, who got spoiled with success, money and anger. If I remember correctly, Yoongi himself said that AgustD with black hair is a new one.
Daechwita is a genre of traditional Korean marching music played for King's or Army's arrival. I don't know what word's Daechwita literal meaning, maybe as you said it really means "the king is coming", it makes sense.

Your channel is perhaps the fastest one I subscribed to. I was catching up on your BTS reactions and saw this. I literally was watching your reaction to Hope's Lollapalooza performance.
Suga/Agust D has a tour this year. It starts next month in California. I will be attending the one in Rosemont in May. He has the best cadences. The man can switch his flow multiple times within a verse. Raw, heavy lyrics.
I highly recommend "The Last". It's my favorite song of his. Insane flows. The cadences intensify as the song goes on. It is a hard-hitting song. I'm not saying this because these are my boys, but they don't miss.
After Suga, it's the vocal line. I would start with V. He has a soulful, deep voice. A crooner. Heavily influenced by R&B, Neo Soul, Jazz, and Classical music. He's an old soul. "Singularity" or "Stigma" is a great start.
If you're gonna continue reacting to each member, I would do the introduction to BTS once you have heard at least 1 song from each.

4:50 They didn't make it after 10 years. They were a strong opponent since day one, they won a lot of rookie awards, they steadily grew the fanbase, their message resonated with more and more people, so the established ones have been pissing them off for years, even after they've made it: I'd say the take off was 2015 and never looked back, being the big acceleration between 2017-2018 and then reaching Dynamite era in 2020 with the pandemic, with their first English track which brought even more people to the army ranks.

With Yoongi, you can see that there's more compartmentalizing in terms of genres and the subjects he touches in his lyrics (you can see that if you hear SUGA of BTS [First Love, Interlude:Shadow], AgustD [Burn it, People] and Producer SUGA [He's written and featured for a variety of artists [Halsey, Juice WRLD] etc.).
The BTS members are all very versatile, (you don't have to react to these recs on video, you can enjoy them on your own time) also RM's INDIGO album is a testament of his versatility and artistry as well (there's cursing too, there's very raw lyrics, there's fun songs and amazing features of legends in the field).
I feel like they have amazing lyricism in common, and their flows and styles are all very different, so there's something for everyone.

Fun fact: Yoongi (Suga's a.k.a Agust D's real name) did a live talking about the behind the scenes of his 'D2' mixtape. When he was explaining Daechwita, he said "You know I put traps in my song. Let me give you an example. If you find a cockroach at home, you put a trap. Like pesticide. Then, the cockroaches will come and die there. 'Daechwita' is the pesticide. laughs 'What do you think?' and 'Daechwita' are the traps. I think for a few people never learn. I don't understand...they never missed the traps and I will just laugh at them."
    WHAT A KING 👑💜
So yeah, sometimes their songs are not speaking directly about someone but those haters always ended up getting burned and exposing themselves.💀

Here's the meaning of the word Daechwita and some historical/cultural references:
-The time: The MV is supposed to take place in the period of Joseon.
-The name itself: The songs’s title is Daechwita, which in English literally means great blowing and hitting.
Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments performed while marching. It was played when King or high officials visit, "or" to welcome important guest or oversea guests.
-Apparently kings back then couldn’t have scars on their body, which symbolizes how powerful the king Agust D was. I hope it makes sense.

As final thoughts, I don't think he was fed up, but more like he explained he "sets traps". Every corner, there's a hater, not just individuals, fellow artists, media, companies... So it's nothing new, and he needs to set traps for the cockroaches anew every now and then. So the songs he writes aren't directed to anyone in particular, although triggered by many, but rather whoever feels identified with what he's singing, then the song is for them.

Fun Fact: the tik tok is a double. 1. Literally talking about the app 2. Then talking about time/clock
Also BTS music grows with them. So the subject/topics grow with them as they get older. So RM and Suga aka Agust D’s first mixtapes (and even some of their earlier songs in their BTS album/) were a lot more aggressive. I would say because they got so much hate (plus they were new to the scene and young) and were from the underground scene they felt like they had to prove themselves. However as the boys have grown, matured, the tastes have changed, etc. most of their music became less aggressive and their topics have changed in a way.
RM and Suga (Agust D) cuss probably the most their music but according to BTS Hobi (Jhope’s nickname) cuss the most outside of their music and videos. Lol
So I HIGHLY recommend reacting to their song in order of mixtapes released and order of playlist because they usually tell some sort of story. Same pretty much goes with BTS album. However you do you.
    RM’s mixtapes/Album:
    1. Rap Monster (used to be what RM stands for but now is Real Me) released 2015 (MV: Do You and Joke)
    2. Mono mixtape released 2018 (MV: Seoul, and Moonchild, Forever Rain)
    3. Indigo album 2022 (archive of his twenties) (MV: Wildflower and Still Life)
    Agust D Aka Suga mixtapes:
    1. Agust D mixtape released in 2016 (MV: Agust D and Give it To Me)
    2. D-2 mixtape 2020 (MV: Daewitcha)
    3. Since he is going on tour soon there are rumors he will release an album just before he goes on tour but we shall see.
Jhope (you listened to these songs already from lollapalooza but if you want to listen to the audio version go right away)
    1. HopeWorld mixtape in 2018 (MV: Daydream and Airplane)
    2. Jack In The Box album in 2022 (MV: More and Arson)
P.S. all the members when they go solo pay for the music videos, albums, etc. out of their own pocket and even more creative freedom. BTS does have creative freedom but you have 7 guys you have accommodate for but with just you. So the older music videos had a lot lower budget because they didn’t have as much money, just keep that in mind.

The meaning of Daechwita: Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching or as a static performance. Back in a day it was played to announce when the king was coming, so suga used it in song like "play the music, king is coming" 😆😂
Suga said that he made this song for fun and song doesn't have that deep meaning as their other songs... It was mainly made to be song to sing along to 🙂
If you want to try something chill from him try songs People, So far away or First love.

Daechwita is a type of music. It is the marching music that played when the King was traveling to announce his presence. It also played when the Army was moving about. There is an incredible explanation video on the DKDKTV channel. I strongly recommend you watch it.

I went to Seoul with my daughter and watched the changing of the guards at some palace. The marching band came out in their colorful traditional uniforms playing… Daechwita! By the way, I think that Suga in this song is mainly fed up with himself, with the celebrity side of him. He kills it, wants to put his feet back on the ground.

You've heard more mellow RM's song, there was no place to cursing in Wild Flower. But try his Joke, for example.
I'd say Suga/AgustD is the most aggressive of the three BTS' rappers, while RM is more methodical, technical, but wait until you see RM on the stage where he being aggressive too. J-Hope has most swag and he has amazing stage presence too.
Funny enough, Suga/AgustD is quite and introverted in real life, he is always composed and calm, when other members are going crazy he is just sitting here in the corner and watches. But in his music you suddenly feel all this anger, grief or pain whichever he wants to convey. Like, you can't really listen to him and not feel anything. When he speaks you suddenly realise that you really want to listen what he's going to say. I noticed that happens even with BTS' members. Like, they have conversation and he starts speaking and everyone's attention suddenly on him. It's fascinating.
All seven of them are really amazing people.
You maybe should check out some more RM's and Suga/AgustD stuff (J-Hope's too, but you saw some of his stuff already), then try rapline songs where all three of them together, then listen to BTS' songs. And then you can check out Taylor's guide to the group. Watching guide at this point can be a little confusing, because you are not familiar with vocal line at all and see four new faces at once can be a little difficult.

Daechwita is a traditional Korean march, played for political events at the time of kings, army or king movements, etc. The two characters are Suga Rei and Sugar from the lower class. Ruler Suga is a tyrant who kills people who have grievances or are considered opponents.
Suga from the lower class, at 06:44 minutes, appears with six friends (BTS mention) and there is also a woman sitting in the tent, who gives him the car keys (Army mention). Poor Sugar starts the revolution by going with the car to face the tyrant Suga. We also see the drawing of Bang Si-hyuk, ('creator' of BTS), at the moment that poor Suga arrives by car to face the tyrant king.
He challenges the system. King Suga arrests and sentences poor Suga to death. And he, bound and kneeling, continues singing Daechwita (Daechwita being a song that is sung when the king is present. Is the poor Suga the true king?). The people who were prostrate in the courtyard now agree with poor Suga, all nodding to the sound of Daechwita. Finally, the executioner who was supposed to kill poor Suga also joins the revolt, frees him and gives him a weapon, with which he kills the tyrant king. Metaphor: the lower class 'overthrowing the system', mentions BTS that started as a small group, discriminated against, from a small bankrupt company, which was despised and disdained, but which ended up becoming the biggest Korean group in kpop, true kings about the game. At the time of the dynasties there was a strong separation between social classes and slaves were considered nothing. The poor would never become part of the elite. Today BTS is the elite, but it was a difficult achievement, with a lot of 'blood, sweat and tears'. And who gave them the 'key' to start the revolution was the Army. BTS 'brought down' the dominant system of the Korean music industry, as they continue to do until now, breaking down the arrogance and prejudice of the world's music industry.

Some of sugas calmer more introspective songs r my favorites, heres some i recommend:
1- so far away ft suran - this song is what made me an army, it rlly changed my perspective in a time where this was on my mind the most. He rereleased it later featuring 2 other bts members, jungkook and jin, both versions are beautiful tho theres more instrumental development/feels more fully fleshed in the 2nd but the 1st is just as good so id recommemd hearing surans version first then the 2nd if ur gonna react to both
-Moonlight - HIGHLY recommend this one, one of my faves off D2
    - strange ft RM - social commentary
    - 724148 - this one really talks about how he started out, he really tells the story of his start i highly recommend. And listen to it with "140503 at dawn" right after, this one is super short and goes well woth the song before, mini introspection.
