Anything that even hints at fantasy will do well. Fairies, dragons, elves, etcetera (it was so hard not to put "oh my" 😂 - like "lions and tigers and bears - oh my!" 🤣) will be successful. Alternate realities, and time travel also tends to do very well.
@@teramitchell4074 Thank you Tera! Very valuable advice. I totally agree; in which case I may have to delve deeper into some of the local folklore in an effort to keep the stories true to their Scottish flavour! I also sang that in my head. Which reminds me, it's been about 20 years since I've watched the film... Sam
Aww, Dee, that's so sweet. Bless her. Thank you for saying so. I hope she finds them peaceful and soothing for that exact reason. Love in return to Oz. S x
1 of my many favorite stories. It was on my list to see but time ran out. Fall of 2024 I will make it to skye and stromness too, to do a little family tracing. Thank you.
Hi Sam, I'm living in ON Canada. I have been blessed to visit Scotland once. this fall will be my chance to make it to see the fairy pools that I missed out on last time. And of course my family is from Stromness so I want to research a wee bit.
Love hearing that oldies still find fans, Julianne! I have entertained the ideas, but I'm unsure if they'd find many listeners unless I caught some other audience by chance somewhere. I like it myself, personally! S x
Absolutely love this one Sam. I only wish I could tell you the story but I fall asleep not long after I start listening. Your voice is so lovely. Thank you! Hugs from the USA🇺🇸💜
Thank you Maria! I suppose that's the blessing and curse simultaneously haha so maybe over time you'll hear a little more here and there before you fall asleep. :) I'm so happy you like them so much, thank you. Sam
@@SnoozewithSam your fine sweetheart and btw I've been listening to your soothing yet intriguing stories every night. I'm an author I hv ten books published and it is your stories I so choose to listen to. Thank you for helping me get to sleep. x😘❣x
@@SnoozewithSam aye, indeed I did. Remember I sd my family is the Macleods from Dunvegan. My daughter will be getting married at Culzean and after I'll be going to Skye. I can't wait to see the Fairy pools as well.
As someone who has horrible insomnia, this is a life saver. The ambience, your voice, how soft everything feels. It’s perfect to doze off to, even on the most sleepless nights. Thank you so much for this! Keep up the amazing work!
My favourite person in the universe is David Tennant and because of my amazing Autistic brain I can imagine him and hear his voice in my head. When I can't sleep I just get him to make up a story, (obviously I have to make the story up but that isn't much of a challenge for me) and he tells it to me. With this and your Scottish accent it is saving my brain a job. Hahaha 🤣😴
How WONDERFUL! I am so happy I found your channel! Such a beautiful, calming story...with rich, lovely descriptions. And the sounds with the narration...MAGIC! Thank you so much! I'll be listening to every story, and sharing with family and friends! (The Scottish accent is definitely the most beautiful, of all accents! 🥰❤)
Hello! You've totally made my day, thank you so much. I'm so happy to know you like the ambience with narration, it's something I've been inspired to do. Please do share! That would mean so much. 🤗 Look forward to seeing your name in future comments! Sam
The night is a canvas of dreams, where everyone's minds can paint their desires. May everyone's dreams tonight be filled with all the things their hearts truly desire. Sleep well.
That was lovely and it did the trick as I never made it to the end. I was transported to your magical place and my mind finally settled down. Thank you. I cannot wait to hear more. This was my first listen!
Always great to hear when they work for people! I'm so pleased. And I'm sure you will love many of the others - check out my playlists if there are certain sounds you particularly like. Thank you! Sam
Regarding a couple of comments below, well we're all different, but I really like the sound of running water, find very relaxing, and on my device your voice is very clear and just the right volume. For me this was very well done, Sam, thank you!
Hi Heike and thank you, I really appreciate you kind words. THAT is also the thing! I've explained a few times before to various people that yes, every device sounds the audio differently, which can make ALL the difference. I'm pleased it works for you :) S x
You have the loveliest voice but I find that the background sounds on your videos are too loud and often overpower your dreamy vocals. If I'm struggling to hear your words, then it stands to reason that I'm unable to relax and fall asleep. (Plus the water sounds make me need to go pee 😂😂😂) I REALLY want to listen to your stories though! I've noticed a few of these types of channels will often provide two versions of the same story - one with background sounds and one without. If you're able to do that, I would be thrilled! But if not, perhaps you could at least consider reducing the background sounds so that they're not competing with your beautiful voice/stories. Thanks so much Sam! I'm sure it's a lot of hard work doing these videos and I want you to know that I'm so grateful for people like you who do this for all of us who struggle so much with their sleep! I REALLY appreciate it and look forward to more sleep stories from you!
Hi Candis! Thank you for your lovely comment: I'm so glad to hear you enjoy the stories. I completely appreciate what you're saying; and I understand that this one in particular didn't agree with everyone - in hindsight I would've changed it! The difficulty really lies in a few things - firstly the EQ balance completely changes depending on how you're listening to the stories. Through headphones / earphones, the ambient sound is a LOT clearer whilst if it's listened to via a phone / tabled loudspeaker, then the ambience really shrinks away. And then it's device specific etc. What is it you listen through? Again I do appreciate what you're saying and agree! It's just very hard to find that sweet spot as a lot of people love the ambience, and a lot love just the story. I always consider all options and will be sure to let everyone know in the future of any changes! Have to keep testing things :) Thank you again and I hope to see plenty more of your name! Sam
Woke in the middle of the night and turned this on again so actually heard some of the story. Where am I walking? A gorge? Gorse? Is that a word? Cave? There’s mention of stalactites right before I fell asleep…TIA!
Except that stalagtites are the ones that grow down from a cave ceiling, while stalagmites grow up from a cave floor. Other than that minor detail, very relaxing, indeed. ;)
I agree! I couldn't last sixty seconds with the dripping. It doesn't make me anxious, but it does drive me batty lol. I would love to hear this without the dripping! If not, there are plenty of others (of your recordings) that I do like.
