Tales of Ireland is a mod steeped in Goidelic myth, legend and folklore. It is possible that some of these myths do contain some kernals of real historical events but nothing in the Tales of Ireland should be taken as a literal depiction of Goidelic history. Instead it is a rich portrayal of Goidelic, primarily Irish, myths and is set in a mythic time, similar to the mythical Greek Heroic Age. Unlike the Greek Heroic Age, Tales of Ireland merges a few different stages of Irish mythical time together into a single overlapping period to maximise the variety of stories they can draw from. Kinda like if a mod using Ancient Greek mythology drew on elements from the Heroic Age, the immediately preceding Illiad and the much earlier Golden Age or Titanomachy.

This mod reminds me of one for EU4. In that one it wasn't Ireland that is the map, but Turkey, Greece and the Levant.

The stuff about Fir Bolg being enslaved by the Greeks isn't historically accurate, it's based on the medieval book of invasions like the rest of the mod, which combines Irish mythology and some Christian inspired stuff to give a narrative of Irish history.
