I’m currently evaluating Logic Pro and was having a hard time figuring things out so I started looking for tutorials and came across your channel and you sir just made my day. Your detailed explanation of each function is so detailed and clear. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and time into this tutorial.
Have played with logic years ago, made some tiny projects but I'm at a point now where I really want to learn more. I invested in some good hardware to get me going, but realized I also really need to get to know the software better. Thank you so much for this series: it's clear, comprehensive and really helps me learn some fundamentals I didn't know about yet!
Just discovered your channel, I started your course to learn Logic, I am finding so helpfull, thanks for your work and for putting this great resource out for free
Thank you once again for sharing your knowledge. I am in my third year as a recording studio owner and engineer and your videos have been extremely helpful. Best wishes.
Josh - exactly what I've been looking for. Linked here from Apple's Logic Pro resources page, as I needed to jump from Garageband to Logic because of Arturia's controller integration benefits. Thanks so much!
In this video, I demonstrate the following: 1. How to navigate your project with transport controls 2. Cycle mode, cycle range, and locators 3. Set the cycle range to selected regions 4. How to change the tempo or meter of a project 5. Using the MIDI input monitor 6. Showing the performance meter Support the sponsor of this video, Boombox | bit.ly/boomboxsponsor For mixing/mastering work, contact me at my website | carneymediagroup.com Follow MusicTechHelpGuy on Instagram | instagram.com/musictechhelpguy Support the channel on Patreon | patreon.com/musictechhelpguy Demo project used in this video | www.logicproguide.com/downloads Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction 0:24 Sponsor Segment 1:00 Play, Stop, Rewind, Forward 2:28 Cycle Range, Locators 4:33 Display, Change Tempo 6:16 Custom Display Parameters
Really enjoying these videos - have been using Logic for a while but never bothered with Manuals and Tutorials. - I have learnt so much already so thankyou.
This is so great. I'm switching from Ableton to Logic right now so I'm literally watching each of these videos as they go live hot off the presses! Thank you, and keep em coming!
Josh, can't even begin to thank you for these videos. Found them just in time. Started with trial version of Logic. Transitioning from GB. Thank you for taking time and creating these vids.
it´s been really cool to go over some basic stuff and commands that I´ve actually forgotten. Looking forward for the next episodes with more new tips n tricks to learn, thanks a lot!!
Thank you for these videos. They are really helpful. I’ve just transitioned from using GarageBand for years and it’s been a bit overwhelming for an old guy. Glad I found your channel! 👍🎶😃
U r the best ever ...logoc pro x is the best daw out there ..simple ande efficase ...thnx ..plz dont forget the video avout how to costomaze the interface...skins .themes ..color .plzzzzzz ...thnx bro thnx so much .🤩🤩🤩🥳🥳🥰🥰
I hope he gets a lot of money from youtube for these videos. only 33K views? damn. I guess a lot more people are interested in people falling out of boats and shit.
you are the perfect teacher thanks brother. beneath the tool menu where the performance recording button is in version 10.6 my display bar is blank - how do i get the bars to show up like you have in your display screen?
I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. You'll have to elaborate a bit more. Beneath the tool menu is the grid. So you're not seeing the bar numbers? Or the bar lines in the grid? If you're not seeing a musical grid with bars and bar numbers, you'll need to go to File > Project Settings > General. And then turn on "use musical grid". If it's something else, elaborate a bit more and I'll try to help you.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy On your screen you have the bar count 1 to 3 to 5 to 7 etc(its also the area where you showed us the yellow highlighted looping function) for some reason my row is just blank.
When you choose custom in the beats section, you can still see the transport controls. When I do it, the beats overlaps the transports almost entirely. Am I missing something?
Quick question: I realize that I recorded a song in a key that is to low for my voice. Is there a way to raise the pitch of all the audio tracks (guitar and bass) in a way that doesn’t sound funny?
If you transpose the audio, you're always going to get some amount of digital artifacting, regardless of what method you use. However, you might be able to make it work if the guitar and bass are DI. You can transpose the DI signal up by just selecting the audio regions you want to transpose and pressing "option up/down" to transpose up or down the number of semitones you want. But anything beyond +/-2 semitones, is probably going to sound weird. If it's something that's going on a release, I would recommend just re-recording the parts. At least the guitar parts, probably will be easier to hide the bass parts, if you choose not to re-record those.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy Yeah… it’s not that noticeable!! I raised by 1 semitone and I don’t hear that much digital junk.. I’m going to tweak to find the correct key and re-record some of the guitars. Thank you for the response! Much appreciated! This will save me some time. It took me a week to get the guitar parts to my liking!
I check my mono compatibility often while I'm mixing. But I do not mix in mono. No mixing engineer I know personally mixes in mono. Just a few people on the internet who think it's the best way. I have a mono button on my monitor controller, but you can do the same thing by loading the GAIN plugin on your stereo output, and just click the mono button to check your mono compatibility.
I did a video a while back on rebuilding corrupted projects. I know yours is just an old project, not a corrupted project, but the process is the same. Open your template, and than import the old project from the browser. I demonstrate this in this video from 2 years ago: ruclips.net/video/fXrTOIFZQ4E/видео.html
Man your videos should just straight up be part of Logic. Like, your mug with a play button over it should pop up in the info box when you hover over something. A lot of logic’s commands aren’t explained well to me and even Logic’s explanation of the thing that doesn’t make sense, doesn’t make sense either.
Can't believe this series is available for free
Nor I!
This series is REALLY clear, understandable and “learnable”. You’re a great presenter/teacher. I’m loving it.
Really organised teacher ! Never bored by overtalk! Only he talk what we need ! Amazing !! Thanku for teaching us

Been using logic pro for years and videos like this were so important in helping me navigate through the DAW. Great video man 🙏🏼
Thank you for not rushing through it, great pace and very understandable. Sub'd

You didn’t say what button to press for return on the keyboard.. just that we should press return but what button on the keyboard is it?
Return is the same as the enter key, for all you other young folks who might not remember
Does everyone mix in mono, master in stereo, or it really doesn’t matter?
I check my mono compatibility often while I'm mixing. But I do not mix in mono. No mixing engineer I know personally mixes in mono. Just a few people on the internet who think it's the best way.
