Everyone raising their prices Netflix etc it’s getting out of hand. Tired of getting lured into monthly subscription for everything; its ridiculous. Time to cut some services
I'm not renewing this year. Two day shipping no longer is the norm. Last year I received a toaster that came dented in a box that wasn't original, opened food items, brita filters that were split from its larger original package, etc. I've had better luck ordering from Target and Walmart.
Wrong Lol i live 10mins away from 2 Amazon warehouses. Half the time I don’t have prime (I only do the free trials or free shipping) & they still deliver in the 2days 💀
AMEN. I have had so many deliveries delayed or late lately. The question I then ask is why am I paying for that service when not getting it and then want me to pay more.
I've been loyal to Amazon Prime for over 10 years and I will not be renewing. Here is my reasons: The movies and TV shows used to be good, but that is no longer the case. They added services to the TV / movies section that costs more money or have ads. They don't always deliver on time like they used to. Every 3rd order is late. I get tons of junk mail from Amazon. The music section used to be free long ago, but it's no longer. They maybe trying to make it once as it was, but I bet they change that in the future. All the items on Amazon is not American made any longer. The majority of products Amazon pushes is from China.
I went to Amazon support chat and the person told me that "2 day shipping" means that they'll get the item(s) shipped out within 2 days!" I said that's a lie and they need to start crediting me back for deliveries that don't make it in two days. They gave me a $10 credit for that complaint. I'll probably be dropping Prime soon.
Back in the day (around 10 years ago) most Prime items had a guaranteed 2 day delivery and if they missed it you could report it as late and would usually either get a small amount of money back or a free additional month of Prime. These days they probably have too much workload and make too much money to bother making that standard again.
Amazon Prime member here. Ordered 3 items that were Prime on Feb. 23rd....it won't arrive until March 1st. I leave the country on March 2nd. This is ridiculous. I've been a member since 2013, this is a joke. Weird because if it arrived to an Amazon Locker it would've arrived on Feb. 28. 🙄 I'm so over Amazon.
I hate it when videos start by asking me to subscribe. This is literally the first time I have seen you or your content; I have received no information in the first 7 seconds of knowing of this channel's existence that would compel me to subscribe.
Very true. It's annoying. At least wait until it's close to the end before you start begging. And it's really unnecessary honestly as every adult on RUclips knows they can subscribe
IMO AMZN subscription isn't worth the money. However, I don't buy a lot from AMZN but when I do the standard delivery is typically 2-3 days which is fine. As for shipping cost, I can easily pass the $25 minimum to avoid that charge. Third, I'm on my second free 30 day Prime membership trial this year which works fine. No need to pay $139/yr.
We are added on my moms account but if I had to pay the full fee, I don’t think it’s worth it for us. We order less than $2k of stuff from Amazon a year. And the prime shipping has been slower and slower since 2020.
I just paused my membership to Amazon prime. All the other movies we want to watch we have to pay to rent or buy anyway. Gonna go without it for a few months to see if we really need it. Then may go back to it
Would be nice if they included Audible. It's behind a paywall too. Can't even buy an audiobook without the subscription. They also took off Whole Foods free delivery. 😔
If you all haven’t watched The Expanse on Prime Video, I highly recommend. It’s one of my favorite shows of the past 5 years. It just wrapped up this year, so you can binge the entire series
It’s worth it to me because I churn a lot of bank bonuses. The $.50 gift card reload takes care of tons of debit card transaction requirements. And I like to streaming service.
I am an Amazon Prime member and on many cases lately don’t get two day shipping even when it is Prime. There have been so many delays and didn’t used to be that way. Order a lot and I mean a lot. Don’t care if they go up and understand business but if you are going to promise something for a price then deliver it as promised. Delays can happen but lately way too many and you want to charge me more for it. Prime Video is not important to me shipping is.
I paused my membership renewal last month. I get the Walmart + membership from the Amex Platinum for “free” and that has covered most of what we use Prime for. We planned on starting Prime back up this summer in anticipation of Prime Day and to catch up on streaming. This price increase will most likely speed this up and we will reevaluate next year.
Still worth it to me. I have subscriptions of big heavy stuff coming every month or two, and it is very convenient not to have to go to the stores to get big bags of cat food and kitty litter. And after being a member for a couple years, I stumbled across that Prime reading feature and it is a great addition to the Prime video and Prime music. I have noticed they will often have the first volume of a series free to try to hook you to buy subsequent volumes, but at least you get an idea of whether you will actually want to read the series. Also, if you order something that is not so time-sensitive, they will sometimes offer to give you a dollar or two credit toward a future digital purchase if you give them a few extra days to get it to you. Those credits do expire, but at least they are nice enough to send you an email to remind you before that happens.
Been trying to get some foam tips for my AirPods both orders have been 1 day delivery, both not getting delivered on the day quoted at checkout. The first order I canceled after being told I wouldn’t get it until Mar 1 when the product was only sitting an hr away. Well the second order is in the same boat sitting just a hair over an hr away. Been thinking about canceling prime before but after this might just have too. I don’t use it as much as I used to anyways. Not like they will miss me but w/e.
Been a member with prime since 2005.. This will be the first year that I will no longer be a member, nor a stock holder. Not to mentioned, amazon has screwed me over several big purchases over the last 3 years.. Some of these items are a snowblower, jbl party speaker and a few others.. Would not take it back nor honor their policy. All these items I wanted to return 3 days after receiving because something broken on it. So I do not see amazon a good company anymore. The free shipping is not worth it even though I average between $10000-$15.000 in purchases per year. Only things I used with prime, prime video and shipping all other things including in the bundle is worthless.
Same thing happened with me. Items arrived damaged and when returned they charged restocking fee and not understanding it arrived to me damaged. I am not purchasing anything over $30 from Amazon now as I can honestly price match with local retailers like target, bestbuy
I don't buy enough from Amazon to justify the annual fee. I especially dislike how they send my orders in multiple shipments, I sometimes prefer to drive to stores to save some boxes. That said, I still shop at Amazon and have the Amazon credit card. When I desperately need something, two days is not fast enough; when I can wait, couple more days and 35 minimum spending is no big deal. The biggest reason of prime for me would be 10% off sale items at wholefoods but it's difficult to save 139 annual given our shopping habits. I just pay one month of prime around prime day and load my account with enough funds for the year while getting the 5%
Informative video. Prime Video is less worth it these days as most offerings are riddled with ads, which wasn't the case, to my recollection, in the past. Now I hear that Kindle Unlimited will increase to $11.99 + tax per month. Amazon Prime Music is also getting pricier. I am starting to rethink renewing my Amazon Prime annual subscription.
Canceled after delay in delivery and arrived damaged. When returned those damaged they charge restocking fee. Bye bye amazon. Had much better experience with walmart and target
Video was perfect timing. Had cancelled Amazon Prime 2 years ago due to the pandemic but was thinking about doing Prime again. Will definitely be joining before the price increase.
Prime was $99 a short time ago then they jumped to $119, now $139, they're really pushing it. I'll renew at $119 but another hike and I may drop it. I've never had next day delivery. It's almost always 72 hours. Not much different than any other stores delivery times. Convenience is my main reason, for buying at Amazon.
We shop mostly online, so mostly Amazon. Shopping for something in store is usually an abysmal experience. Tough to beat 2 day, 1 day, same day shipping right to your door like a king, and I don't even need to change my posture to order just about anything I can imagine. Not too excited about paying 20 bucks more but yeah, easily worth it.
I have but few and many delays. Tired of everyone and every company blaming COVID as an excuse. Been in law enforcement for over 25 years and we can’t use that excuse.
Prime shipments take longer than promised half the time. I dont stream music. I dont read books often. Prime video is the worst ever, loaded with b rated movies, very few selections of A rated movies. Prime benefits actually really suck bad. That being said if you order a lot it is still worth it if you get all your orders as quickly as promised otherwise it makes total sense to spend 35 or more and get free shipping thus saving you the $139 fee.
Agreed 100%. If i wasn't Prime, I would bunch-up my orders to once a week from target/wallmart/ebay ; and probably not buy 20% of it after waiting past the Reflex Spending days...and AMAZON knows it !!
I wouldn't likely pay that...but we get free membership (and video) with our Metro cell plan. And combined with our Chase Amazon cards...we really save over the year.
Most prime items I order take more then 2 days to get to me they often don't even ship in two days and often take a week or more. I joined prime for the shipping and they don't deliver on time anymore. They are pushing China crap more and more, and turning into a second rate ebay. Their ratings on items has become totally fake bs. I may buy a few things from them if I can't get them elsewhere but only if they are my only source.
A great subject is where do credit card companies get the money for sign up bonus rewards or cash back, especially if you pay your bills, etc on time and don't pay fees? Is it from others who screw up? I heard there's an "intercharge" the merchant pays. This could be a great subject to explore.

Changing from Prime to "regular" Amazon; i looked at the fine print/process and it was going to delete my history, re-buys, subscriptions, history et al and I decided it was too much hassle ... and Amazon KNOWS that .... ( a rather Hostile process to change from Prime to Regular )
What people don't understand is inflation will happen and continue to happen regardless of their circumstances. Inflation will happen even though wages are stagnant. This is why we need Universal Basic Income (UBI) to at the very least help offset the inflation that's going on. $1000 per month would help tremendously, especially for the poor. I see it as a win-win. People will have more money to spend to help circulate the economy. Companies will profit from all the buying that people will do with their extra money. People win and companies win.
@@TheNotoriousNemo Great an apologist. My come back to you would be you must hate humanity? You're the type that says "look everyone, we're living in a shithole, let's keep it that way. In fact I work in I.T. as a Software Engineer for the Government and make six figures a year. I don't need the extra money. There are people in this world who do care and want to see people in better living conditions and off the streets. People like you just want to sit by the wayside and say how life is terrible, "gee, I hope someone comes along to fix this terrible condition we're living in." @@VersionBest so what that's why the working class pays taxes, to support those that don't already work. Universal basic income is still a bad idea, do you know how many people live rent free already with food stamps, and Medicare insurance on top of child tax credit, what more do you think the lower class needs, big daddy government already supports them. The system right now sucks but the poor is already being maintained. I saw a homeless man in cali getting paid $500 a month+. Do you know how many people cheat the system for more. My point is they need to get jobs and off the government teet.

I looked at dropping Prime; the fine print was erasing and giving up lots of stuff so that being just a regular Amazon buyer was going to be difficult. What was YOUR experience for completing an exit from Prime? please?
I don't use Amazon nearly enough to justify the price. Even when it was $99 I didn't sign up. The 2 day shipping has been often slower than 2 days when I did take advantage of free monthly service. No real complaints from me though.
"As of February 18, 2022, the price of the monthly discounted Prime membership (for EBT and select government assistance recipients) has increased from $5.99 to $6.99. The new prices, plus applicable taxes, will apply after March 25, 2022, on the date of your next renewal."

@@SabreLeonheart I understand. When they just came out the reception was horrible but they’ve gotten better over the years especially since T-Mobile merger/takeover
Still worth it to me…With my chase Amazon prime visa I’m raking in so much cash back between Amazon purchases and Whole Foods.
- same here.
I save $104 a year on my Rx through their pharmacy and it’s cheaper than my insurance.
Amazon kidding right? What about discount for seniors?
i have the prime visa, $2,300 limit. problem is CHASE is a shady company.
EXTRA SHORT ANSWER: NO.
So do you pay more monthly?
My Amazon Prime is set to renewal on December 24 2022. I take it that the price won't increase until next year is that correct?
nope it starts in March, so you will pay the $139 on Dec 24 2022.
7000 usd spent a year would cover the Prime fee of $140 and leave you with $210 extra a year, also If were being honest Prime might become a delivery service like UPS one day and who knows what kind of benefits that will come with ?
They've been kicking that around for about 2 years now, I'm sure it's coming
Do you work for Amazon? Omg
i order alot of stuff from amz and also pay $69 for business duo membership... so not a big deal
What’s your opinion of the Amazon Prime store card? I’m outside of 5/24 and Chase is not an option right now.
I was over 5/24 when I applied for mine and was instantly approved. If you don’t mind only being able to use it on Amazon purchases it’s absolutely worth it for the 5% back.
Good if just getting it for the 5% reward at Amazon.
- i have the store card, and i like it. only difference is you cant cashout or transfer the cash back to external bk acct. you have to use the cashback for statement credit or towards new amazons purchases, which is fine for me.
because im on disability, i get prime at half price. :)
Good Video.
Changing from Prime to "regular" Amazon; i looked at the fine print/process and it was going to delete my history, re-buys, subscriptions, history et al and I decided it was too much hassle ... and Amazon KNOWS that .... ( a rather Hostile process to change from Prime to Regular )
Mine is free with my cell phone bill. So, I’m good.
Amazon also offers a Secured credit card.,
prime video and music alone is worth it, fast shipping is a bonus
It's not fast anymore. And the shows are all trash.
@@lilfish5124 I get it same day and next day it's fast
Go check out the citi double cash card change Adam.
Oh I don't pay that much I pay $4 per month for Amazon prime..
How's that?
The way gasoline prices are and the Virus still is everywhere, it’s worth it to me. IMHO
Amazon scam
What people don't understand is inflation will happen and continue to happen regardless of their circumstances. Inflation will happen even though wages are stagnant. This is why we need Universal Basic Income (UBI) to at the very least help offset the inflation that's going on. $1000 per month would help tremendously, especially for the poor.
I see it as a win-win. People will have more money to spend to help circulate the economy. Companies will profit from all the buying that people will do with their extra money. People win and companies win.
You must not have a job and pay taxes do you? Shit like this is what people on welfare or broke college kids say
@@TheNotoriousNemo Great an apologist. My come back to you would be you must hate humanity? You're the type that says "look everyone, we're living in a shithole, let's keep it that way. I'm perfectly happy the way I am."
I don't have to answer your inquiries, but if you must know (and because I know others will be reading), I do have a job and pay taxes. In fact I work in I.T. as a Software Engineer for the Government and make six figures a year. I don't need the extra money. If anything I have excess money and not sure what to do with it, except donations. It's because I care about the situation that people are in that I am the way I am. It's also because I care too much that I even bother to respond back to you just to educate you about this matter.
There are people in this world who do care and want to see people in better living conditions and off the streets. People like you just want to sit by the wayside and say how life is terrible, "gee, I hope someone comes along to fix this terrible condition we're living in." Well, I'm that someone, or at least I'm hoping to be as close to that someone as possible.
@@VersionBest so what that's why the working class pays taxes, to support those that don't already work.
UBI would just cause more inflation, look at cost of higher education.
NOt going to watch but my guess is you say NO because we all know your super cheap. Im sure the wife will have too get her own account now
Not worth it! I canceled and saving money!
I quit 3 months ago. Definitely not worth it for me.
To bad we cant go to our employer and say, I'm going to have to charge more, you know inflation and all. 😂
Actually you can. It might not be a wise move but it's always an option. 😀
just get an Letter of Offer from another company before you walk into HR; they will usually "Retain" you (means price matching)
If you mention your raise to coworkers, or show pay-intelligence, you can expect to be fired soon thereafter
Just dropped prime. I can live with slower shipping.
Yes, agreed!!!!!!!!!
Amazon Prime is worth it though
Good video great breakdown. I don't like the price increase but for how I use Amazon your video showed me it's still worth it for me personally.
Wish I had Amazon Fresh delivery in my area.
Omg you people need to move to the country. So addicted companies taking care of you. Wow different worlds for sure.
Yes it's free shipping and if don't like I returned no questions
Hey, Below has together his boat out.
Maybe there is another you out there, but I doubt it, I highly do. You are one of a kind and you are serving your purpose on earth. One does not have to watch for more than a minute to see that you are not doing any of what your doing, purely out of self gain. No, you were fabricated with different materials and a brain like a sponge to soak up information of all kinds, then disseminate it. Let me me tell you, there is not many that can compete with your wealth of knowledge and the placid manner in which you convey your thoughts. You are a blessing to humanity. The new people that are populating the earth now are the furthest thing from your kind, the last great generation. I hope to be here to take part, support and benefit from the fruits of your efforts. Your a dying breed but your work is not in vein. I for one is filled with gratitude for all the work and dedication that you commit to your channel. You have helped to sharpen my outlook on personal finance and the icing on the cake is your warm brand of humor. Your the man, All the best for you and yours in this 2022 and beyond.
This is probably the nicest comment i have ever had on this channel, maybe in my life, too. You might have to be available to speak at my funeral someday 😃
@@ProudMoney omg your a certified character.
Honestly if it was just for myself, I don't think I could justify it. The way I do it is to split it with my girlfriend and family. That way it is significantly cheaper and everyone benefits! Definitely the best way to do it in my opinion.
Haha or you can mooch off of someone elses plan like I do lol
Absolutely. What other service can you buy that won’t cost you more for pretty much overnight delivery not to mention the easy return process? Definitely worth it !
I live in the outskirt of town, and 2 days delivery is more like 3-4 days, feels like amazon not living up to their standards for me.
