  • Vision of the Seas and part of the Vision Class of ships is Royal Caribbean's 4th oldest ship and 2nd smallest ship. Royal Caribbean does not build ships like Vision of the Seas anymore! The new ships have many more features, newer design, and a different style of cruising.
    Going on Vision of the Seas for an 8 night Mediterranean cruise, I was worried she would look tired and dated but the ship has been maintained VERY well. I was very pleased with the condition of the staterooms and the common spaces. If you are also looking to sail Vision of the Seas out of Fort Lauderdale or later in Baltimore, you are getting a fantastic ship!
    This tour will give you a full ship tour of all of the common spaces onboard Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas so you can see just how well she has been maintained!

    Wow - that atrium is absolutely stunning - I really miss the old-style 'to the top' glass-roofed atriums from the more traditional ships - I find now that cruise lines tend to fill that open space with loads of inside cabins. This ship looks to be ageing really nicely actually - obviously taken really good care of!

      The Vision of the Seas is not old; no one would call her old. She has a bluff bow, lovely lines. She's a fine seabird: weatherly, stiff and fast... very fast, if she's well handled. No, she's not old; she's in her prime.

    This is an excellent tour of Vision of the Seas! Our home port is Baltimore so we have sailed a lot on Enchantment OTS many times. Now we are heading to Ft. Lauderdale to board Vision next month and will be on her for 20 days right up to her sailing into Baltimore. This video answered many of our questions about the differences between the two ships. In addition, your tips on special places onboard are just what we need. We did check out other videos with Vision tours and this one was far and away the best. Your style and narration are top of the line. Thanks very much!

    Thanx for the great tour of Vision. I've been on Grandeur and Enchantment, her older sisters, many times and have 2 bookings on Vision when she comes to Baltimore. It was fun touring with you and comparing what was familiar to what was different on this ship. You even shot one item that is very reassuring for me. Re your comment on the name of the lounge on 6 aft, I think a lot of the facilities on these old ships were named for songs in Broadway musicals.

    Was on Rhaposdy of the Seas once. Was bummed at first cause not a Mega-ship Oasis class etc. But....it grew on me after a day or two and it was fun. Less people, plenty of things to do and well maintained. The diamond lounge and viking crown lounge was smaller and rooms a bit dated, but service was the same and actually found Chops to be the best one so far..they did an amazing job. Casino was a bit small too but I hit a jackpot for 1600.00 so cant complain....for the price(way cheaper than Oasis Class) it was worth it and would do it again.....but I am sort of addicted to Allure and want to try out Wonder of the seas if I can.

    Thanks for posting Brandon. I have to give it to Royal for keeping their old ships looking great! After sailing four Royal ships in a row starting May 2022 on Freedom, Nov 2022 Harmony, Jan 2023 on Navigator, and Ovation in May 2023, my girlfriend and I like Freedom of the Seas the best. Navigator is a close second but we just wish it had Giovanni's instead of Jaime's. We did not like Jaime's and tried them twice, the 1st time was on Harmony then on Navigator.
    Harmony was fine and never felt overwhelmed, but we are not fans of a ship that has too many indoor areas. The number one reason we cruise is to see the ocean and not walk through a park or a Promenade with no outside light. The one thing Harmony has is that Solarium, which is superior to the smaller ships we sailed, although they blew it by not having a pool in there.
    We are going to take a break from Royal for a while. One of our main issues are their pricing and free food venues, especially the Windjammer. The food is inconsistent and usually hit or miss. The dining room was a much better option. The Mediterranean food in the Solarium on Ovation was quite good. Virgin and Celebrity are on our Radar for the future.

The biggest I’ve been on was Adventure out of New Jersey, which has been my favorite so far. I really want to try wonder just to say I’ve tried one of the newer, mega ships. I’m just worried I’ll hate it because i don’t like needing reservations & waiting in line lol smaller ships you can just show up if you decide last minute. Hey Jennifer, I am not a travel agent and doubt Vision of the Seas has any solo cabins. If it does, there will be a limited number and you need to book those well in advance. Keep your eyes open but more than likely will need to pay the double occupancy. Christmas is also the most expensive week you can cruise :-(

    Planning a trip out of Baltimore. Family of 6 in two rooms. I am curious what the sleeping arrangements would look like kids are 11,13,17,20.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  Год назад

      Hey there! It is going to depend on the arrangement of the rooms you booked. You can go to www.cruisedeckplans.com/ to see your specific room and love this website! The bed in the middle of the room can be divided into 2 twin beds. From there, it will be a couch that converts into a bed for two people, or 2 twin beds that lower down from the ceiling. I would split the two beds and have 3 people in each room. Hope this helps!

    We took our very first cruise on Vision just recently. Although it was...relaxing...the price gouging was DISGUSTING and RAMPANT!!
    $5 for small Hersheys bar, $5 for can of coke, $7 can of beer, $10 mixed drink - rum and coke, $15 cocktail. $120 PER PERSON ride to beach, $170 PER PERSON to ride water slides on Coco Cay. It will be a LONG TIME before we do another cruise with RC.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  Год назад +1

      Hey Patrick, I believe this is a "depends" answer. In the US, if the Viking Crown Lounge has turned into a club it will be 21+ if you sail from an American port 18+ if you sail from any other port in the world. They do setup a security station to scan sea-pass cards when entering a night club environment on the ships to verify age.

      Sure is! They are both part of the Vision Class of ships and we're built in 1996 and 1998. That's the great thing about staying with certain cruise lines, you learn where to go when you go to another ship, you know where you are going!

      Thank you and apologies if the way I mentioned the age seemed like a bad thing(was not intended to be). Most cruisers only know big and new ships these days and I wanted to balance that with highlighting reasons why Vision is designed the way she is and age has a lot to do with it.
