I never, ever leave my helmet on my bike anymore. I parked my bike and locked my helmet to the bars with a gun trigger lock. I was at my local Walmart and went in and picked up a box of nicotine patches and batteries for my game cam. I was in the store for about 20 minutes total. Got outside to the bike and noticed something hanging out of my helmet. Some SOB had put a shitty diaper inside. I immediately started looking around for someone with a baby nearby, but didn’t see anyone. I pulled the diaper out and there was a small amount of poo that got on the padding. I got a rag of of my saddlebag and wiped it out best I could. I then took the bag my batteries were in and pulled the handles off the bag and rolled the bag up a bit to make it not as deep. I then placed it over my head like a shower cap. Put the helmet on long enough to ride the 13 miles home. Luckily the helmet padding was removable and I washed it up outside a bit before going into the washer and dryer. I can’t imagine someone doing something like that, but I guess some folks will do anything for a sick kick. So I always take the helmet with me wherever I go.

On my helmet I have the transition lens and it rocks. I leave when it’s dark and get to work an hour away when it’s light out. I no longer have to stop to change my glasses or lens on the helmet. I just keep riding.

I was curious about the transition. It works well on prescription glasses so why not helmet.

@@flyfshjimsinclair3981 I love the transition shield on my helmet. The tech has come a long way since the 90s and it adjusts really fast. It was worth the $250 I spent on it. I wish every helmet came with a transition upgrade to their face shield.

The Ciro Big Ass Cup Holder is one of the accessories I find very useful. it will hold a Route-44 sized Sonic Drink. I often use it to hold my wallet if I'm headed to a fast food drive-thru so I don't have to dig it out of my pocket when I get there. (I put my wallet in the front pocket, and I use a Ridge Wallet so there's no chain for that). I'll put my sunglasses in it at times. It's deep enough things won't bump out.
Another accessory is the Rider adjustable back rest. I ride a 2022 Road Glide Limited. The backrest has a quick release so if I want it off it's easy to remove, but what I discovered was that after riding with it for a short time, then riding without I really noticed the tension in my lower back that built up quickly especially when in town riding where you start and stop and therefore adjust your seating and posture often. It's a back saver.

I was at an HD dealer 18 years ago and they had an HD branded rain suit. It feels like a goretex material. It was on sale for a $100. Crazy money for a rain suit back then. But to this day, it’s still like new. My investment has paid off.

My cruise control has always been that I always remove the throttle retractor so it doesn’t spring back. Where I put it is where it stays until I decide to move it again. However, I do not recommend this to anyone. My first bike that I learned on was very old and the throttle didn’t retract on its own so I just learned that way and I’m very comfortable and confident in dealing with the draw backs.

My helmet lock is even cheaper: a free pistol cable lock from project childsafe. Helmet sockets over my tank gauge cluster, cable goes around the chinbar and runs around the handlebar between the risers

I had a built-in helmet lock on my '82 Suzuki GS650G. For my current bike, I found a similar device that attaches to a bar with a key lock for the D-ring to attach. It does bolt on, but helmets are usually an impulse grab, and most thieves don't carry Allen key sets. Found mine on Amazon, by Augeny.
I also like the disc brake alarmed locks to secure the motorcycle. Favoto makes the rechargeable one I got from Amazon; they can also come with replaceable batteries.

I bought high quality floorboards for my 2015 Honda Goldwing after having owned a Road King. I wish I’d kept the original hardware from the ‘Wing because my feet are too big for the floorboards.
The change required a heel-toe shift lever because there’s not enough room, due to the opposed six engine, for the stock shifter. The new brake pedal is much harder to use because the floorboard barely clears it. Going back to stock parts was cost prohibitive.
    I really regret this mod.

I have both the Kuryakyn bar-end type and the Atlas throttle lock, on different bikes. I like them both, but after usung them for years, I prefer the Kuryakyn bar-end type. It's more reliable.
And by the way, both of those two designs allow you to make adjustments to the throttle position while locked. In other words, they both simply add enough friction to hold the throttle where you put it, and adjust the throttle as needed. You just have to set it up right and use it right. They take some getting used to.

handle bar grips off ebay, amazon or wish are never a good idea either. i bought some cheap grips a while back and they fell apart before i put them on the bike and my throttle stuck when got them on. As far as a helmet lock goes, a good master lock with a long loop works fine.Add a chain and you can put it anywhere.
