This is exactly what happened to it in my house when I was a kid. Started talking and singing in the middle of the night (she was in the closet), scared the craaaaap out of me and my sister. We threw her in the trash and said nope. I feel so bad about it now because I know it was an expensive gift but she literally terrified us. I love her now aha, hoping to eventually get another one someday but it's not likely. xD

This must be a rich kid’s toy because I was born in 1979 and today is the first time I’ve ever heard of her. I recall a commercial for the Jill doll and wanted her but I knew Santa was on a budget so I didn’t even bother asking. My parents would probably tell me they couldn’t find replacement batteries for the doll when they died and I would imagine that happened to a lot of kids. Kinda like when the batteries died in my working child’s vacuum because I vacuumed the entire house over and over and over… Apparently no store on the face of the earth had the “special” batteries it required. I found the very same model on eBay a few years ago and discovered my parents LIED to their 5 year old daughter. It used C batteries and I had fun confronting them about it. They never thought I would find out. 😂
This is hilarious 😂 I’m 52 and I don’t remember this doll so I’m bummed out since I always loved scary or creepy dolls. I think she was like the Alexa of the past 😂😂
I’ve never heard of one before either!! It’s crazy that it was made in the 80’s. I’m 54 and somehow completely missed these too!

I just bought a Julie doll on Ebay and I will be excited when she shows up at my door. Julie is kind of a creepy doll but I am a toy/doll collector and I am happy to add her to my collection..
UPDATE: I received my Julie doll and she is in perfect condition and she came in the original box. The original box was a little beat up but it's still really cool. Julie has her original clothes that are clean, clean face, her shoes have a few scuffs, Julie's eyes and mouth work and her voice is clear. I am was lucky to have such a great doll and I am going to place her in my spare bedroom and when my family comes over I will show my family what Julie can talk about.

Guys I want to say I live in nc and I had one of these exact Julie's when i was y9ung and I'm gonna say this...... it was my worst nightmare and when I say that I mean that. I like her at first spent alot of time with her. Later on This doll I remember making evil faces at me when sleeping. She woukd come on by herself and so much more. I threw her in the trash many times and she would be back in my room soon after. Some of the places I kmow it wasn't my mom bringing her back. Omgosh it was so many things. I had other dolls like teddy ruxben and others thar talked but julie was possessed and to this day I will say it and I'm now 43. I looked her up after all this time bcuz for some reason it came across my mind. I found this video. Please becareful. It was something I'll never forget. That card u had with the demon on it was scary. Strange way of putting it after what I know lol. Omgosh. I just know something was not right about this doll. My house growing up was not haunted it was a warm cozy godly nice house so this was very odd too.

I have 2 of these she was called Julie the world's most intelligent doll she read books by touching her fingers to black squares on the Paige's .. she knows hot and cold lol and light and dark wish her books and cards were not so hard to find Pamela was the other like her you can put her cards in Julie they work

My friend had this doll and the shut down when battery was low did NOT work. One night when I was sleeping over she started talking at like 2am. Hi my name is Julie annnnnnndddddddd iiiiiiiiii wuuuuuuuuunnnnnntttttt tooooooo beeeeeee yooooouuuurrrrr friiieeennnddd in total demon voice. I left my friends house in the middle of the night and ran home crying. From then on I refused to be in the room with Julie. I think we were around 9 or 10 years old

you need to program from you switch on and in a quiet room she will prompt you which she is doing sometimes she cant here you , she is made from world of wonder from the teddy ruxpin company , she can read a book basically with her finger on the pads and can tell light or dark brighter noise ect

Just came to me why this doll is familiar my granny had a similar one when i was growing up i think julie had a sibling unsure of the name but the doll was far less advanced
