I love Somi. As a korean Canadian girl who got bullied for not looking asian enough, I feel like she is a personal friend of mine that I can relate to. But Gina did not let that stop her. On the same day VCHA released "Y.O.Universe", Gina released her first single "Freedom." That was just over two months ago, and she has already released at least 3 more singles, all of which I highly recommend! "Stranger Danger"

She was on another JYP survival show named "Nizi Project Season 1", all of which is on RUclips, just like "Season 2" (boy group - they should have their final episode very soon!) and A2K. Nina, born in Washington state, was 14 at the time of the show, and had only been living in Japan for two years. She didn't speak the language before at all. She has an amazing voice! If you watch the first few episodes to see Nina's first audition, it's really something else!

Not really unique. She’s very unique and talented but ygs uses the same formula which makes this song very similar to solo cuz it seems like he wants somi to get the same success as solo which is a yg marketing strategy. The whole song sounds like solo which is why I dislike the producer teddy(he produces bp songs, solo and this song too and it feels like they r trying to recreate solos success by using the same formula for SOMI). Calm intro, familiar chorus and a catchy sentence and hand move for the chorus, the chorus is instrumental based, English rap just like solo. The mv has similar scenes like the club and the angel wings and an over all vibe, it felt like solos mv but high school themed.

@@ma-yi9ye in my opinion the song doesnt sound like solo BUT i 100% agree with the part that the same formula is used a lot, i personally dont mind it. cant deny that the yg strategy works, the songs are really catchy and almost all end up really successful. however, i do hope that she releases a proper album soon and tries out different types of songs like she did with outta my head. whereas her past songs are really catchy and fun, i wanna see her experiment with different genres because this formula can get boring in the long run. this is just my 2 cents haha. ive supported somi since ioi and i feel like her voice is not appreciated enough in the sense that its not used to her full potential. nonetheless still going to continue to support her
