I think "Once Upon a Time" was the closest thing we ever got to a Fables live action series.
I don't always love all of the stuff in Earth-27, but this art is really cool.

Yeah, that was part of the inspiration. Their names also reference the musical scale (Do, Re, Me, Fa, So, La, Te) and the dwarves' names in an old play (Blick, Snick, Glick, Wick, Plick, Flick, and Quee). The classic Brothers Grimm tales didn't give them names and I couldn't use the Disney ones directly.
Reading fables is what made me started reading online😉

In June 2021, it was announced that Fables would be getting revived in 2022 with a 12-issue continuation to the main series, as well as a 6-issue spinoff miniseries Batman vs. Bigby! A Wolf in Gotham, both published under DC Black Label.

Television series
A television series based on Fables was put into development by NBC in 2005 for the 2006-2007 Television Season. The show received a script order and was developed by Craig Silverstein and Warner Bros. Television but was not developed any further than the scripting stage. NBC later produced Grimm, a police procedural set in a world where fairytales are real.
In December 2008, ABC picked up the rights to develop a pilot of Fables for the 2009-2010 television season. Six Degrees creators and executive producers Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner were writing the script for the hourlong drama, again set up at Warner Bros. Television, while David Semel had come on board to direct. There has been no news since concerning a series based directly on Willingham's series and, in late 2010, he said "[t]he TV show that was prematurely announced is probably dead". Instead, ABC announced a new series called Once Upon a Time, which features fairy tale characters such as Snow White and Prince Charming who have been cursed to live in the real world by the Evil Queen without the memories of their former lives. The show's creators, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, stated that they "read a couple issues" of Fables but believe that while the two concepts are "in the same playground", they are "telling a different story".
Wow, I dont even remember some of these characters. Probably there has been more Fables content than I known of. I mean the last time I finished a Fables book, the Wolflings were just little kids! Great art as usual P.C.!

Fun fact: Robin redbreast was originally the name of the bird, but it doesn't look like American robins (which are thrushes). This is similar to jackass, magpie, tomcat, and similar examples of giving Christian names to animals in English. (Robin, of course, being a diminutive for Robert.) But you started this with DC, you've no doubt had many a "Yes, Robin is in fact a boy's name" conversations.

I still don't know half of these characters. But maybe it's jsut because I don't know the english names for the fairie tale characters since I am german.
these fables should have Tarzan, Moby Dick, Frankenstein, Dracula, Mr Hyde, Mythology, Cryptozoology and any other Book characters/creatures in the public domain

Ngl I wish OUAT was darker so it could feel more like Fables. It was dark in the first few seasons. Cinderella being pregnant for 28 years. Hansel and Gretel being stuck for months (possibly years) in the infinite woods searching for their father. Peter Pan trying to rip out the heart of a child who is related to him? Super twisted. They had a chance to continue those dark elements in the Shattered Sight arc with Elsa and Anna but it was turned into a joke. Merida,Elsa and Anna being in a non-kid friendly show with violence and disturbing stories would have been great. It became a family friendly kid's show at some point in S5.

I still don’t understand why Fables still doesn’t have a movie or TV series made about it, it would be incredible if it happened
There were a few attempts. In 2005, a Fables show on NBC was put in development and was gonna have its first episode in 2006 but in never developed past scripting.
In 2008, ABC gained the rights to develop a Fables show with a pilot supposed to be released in 2009 but was stated to be dead in 2010. Instead, ABC made a show loosely inspired by Fables, really only taking the idea of fairy tale characters living in the real world, and called it Once Upon a Time.
In 2015, WB was gonna make a live action Fables movie but that was cancelled as well.

Im hoping this gets adapted into a TV series, even though it was already adapted into a video game by Telltale. For Bigby, I'd cast Jensen Ackles.
Fun fact, a Fables show was put in development back in 2005 by NBC and was supposed to start releasing in 2006, but the show never made it past scripting, and some think that this is what inspired the show Grimm which started development in 2008. A similar situation happened in 2008 at ABC where a Fables show was supposed to be developed with a pilot ready in 2009 but the show was announced to be officially cancelled in 2010 and that it never made it past planning. But Once Upon a Time started releasing soon after in 2011 and some Fables fans believe it was loosely inspired by Fables. However, the writers denied this and it seems the idea of Once Upon a Time stretched back to 2004 with the creators waiting until after Lost finished in 2010 before actually starting development on the show.
This art is Amazing, My Favorite fable has to be Beast his design is amazing. DC really needs to a live Action Fables TV series or Movie.

You like your own comments, don't you? It feels like you do.
Phil could draw those characters apart from Earth-27, if he's properly compensated for it beforehand. Plus, most of the stories that the characters you listed are already present in E27, but in the way Disney presents them. Also, Rey is not a princess.
@@pablomenendez2319 Rey Palpatine is the Emperor's granddaughter so she is obviously a princess, in fact Disney Princess because Star Wars is Disney.
@@rchangelus She wasn't raised as a princess like Ariel or Snow White, nor did she become one by marriage like Mulan or Belle. Plus, Palpatine was assumed dead for years while the Empire crumbled away over the years, so what would his granddaughter even be a princess of?
