I generally feel positive about my learning disabilities, apart from when people make judgements about me, because of my specific learning disabilities. Or make comments or jokes about me.

Ironically, it's those people who have the 'learning disability'. An inability to accept the unusual or different. As beings, humans are way too fast to expect everyone to adhere to what they see as 'normal'.

I struggled in school as a kid, but I had people that supported me during school. Don’t let anybody make you feel bad, because you’re a gifted person that will achieve great things in life.

A learning disability is merely a 'difference'. I think it needs to be relabelled as 'learning difference'. Why we are so preoccupied with the 'learning' aspect mystifies me too. Why not make it a person with 'living differences'? Because that's entirely what it is. I work with adults diagnosed with autism. I'm new to the job and have A LOT to learn, but I immediately accepted the people I support, for the most part, enjoy their lives. They need some prompting and personal care assistance, but they are OK. They do learn and observe. But in their brain it isn't a difficulty or a disability. Only we neurotypicals bracket it all together and call it a disability because we are judging it against our own.

Depends on where you live. In USA a ‘learning disability’ is merely a learning difference however significant, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, etc.
In United Kingdom, ‘learning disability means intellectual disability or mental retardation to be blunt. This is global cognitive impairment, not specific.
My son has intellectual disability and in UK, we call it ‘learning disability’ unfortunately. Such vagueness in UK.
In UK dyslexia, dyscalculia and all the rest of them are called specific learning difficulties. Follow?

damage to the brain that delays neurogenesis, as in the neural connections your brain needs to develop in order to acquire new skills. Its effectively like using a broken tool to do a job. i got hit by a car when i was three and its taken 26 years to recover to the point I'm at right now but no matter what i do it will not change other people. it is a shame that "normal" people are unable to be more accepting but it is what it is and you can only expect so much from people regardless of their disability or ignorance.

In America, what Learning Disabled means is very different than what it means in the UK but more offensive to be Labeled that in America by schools that lower the bar with individual education plans of Regular Students, is Wrong
