On April 13th, 2019 undefeated IBF World Super Welterweight Champion Marie Eve Dicaire (17-0) made the first defense of her strap against the Swedish bulwark Mikaela Lauren at the Montreal Casino in Montreal, Canada.
The Quebec native is slated for a super fight against the "G.W.O.A.T" Claressa Shields.

The holding is ridiculous by dicaire. They shouldve taken points away. She can't handle mikaela's power and is literally hugging to avoid it. Not ok at all. The ref should've done something!
I'm a fan of Dicaire but I respect Shield so much that I don't mind who's the winner as long as they both give us a great show!

Lauren has got no boxing skills whatsoever absolutely no defense and looking for that one big punch all the way through the fight , very good at going in with her head as can be seen from the cuts on Dicaires brows . Dicaire good all round boxer ,good solid straight jab and good defense and avoided a lot of those wild swings from Lauren , I only gave Lauren the first round for the wild swing that caught Dicaire off balance .
Who going to buy payperview for her? I like Shields but this isn’t a paper view fight.

Shields vs Dicaire ain't PPV worthy, unfortunately for them. They would've received a much bigger exposure if it was on the undercard of a big major fight. On its own, their numbers will be low.
But the guys don't fight often enough or best vs best.....

She looks strong....but slow. And smaller than Shields. But she's undefeated for now, so I guess.
She's a very good counter puncher she sticks on the move like mayweather should be fun to watch her aginst shields she also keeps her feet moving hole fight
When she's stunned...she gets lost. Smh
She doesn't have fast hands but she's not slow, she moves well, she's physically strong (in a brawling way) and seems to be in good shape. I think she can take a punch too. Her biggest weakness is her punch power, no snap nor heaviness in these punches because of her feet always jumping, she was in karate before, this explains that....
Her only hope will be to outwork Shields, that will be very tough to do when Claressa starts to figure her out.
Even here in Quebec, most experts don't give her much chance, that is what she really wanted, she got balls, props for that!

I don’t think shield will have too much problems against dicaire. She’s one of those average fighters that holds a belt. Which is one of the reason shield can dominate every division

Claressa done beat her best competition which I thought was that Brazilian lady. I can't see Shields taking an L to Dicaire. She looks ok though, nice jab and defense.
Dicaire has the potential to be great in the sport. Like a female tyson fury that relies on good combos and power punches. If she perfects her craft, she will be a legend. Womens boxing is just scratching the surface. Skies the limit.

First time seeing Marie Imho she has pretty good distance, timing and overall boxing IQ with lots of heart. The opponent was landing some nice shots here and there too. Good fight!
Look forward to her and Sheilds. I think it should be a good clash of styles. I see it "possibly" going the distance as a back n forth battle with the Winner being the one that digs the deepest. It's good for the sport and these women work very hard and deserve more! I support it! The potential is high it just needs more eyes and more fighters and anything is possible. No Mary is not good at distance and timing her boxing iq is minimal! If you calling her being afraid on the inside and Mossi f opportunities to K.O her opponent good IQ then I dno…. She holds on the inside she throws one two punches then holds or runs! She also needs to get rid of that bouncing and use the dam jab to measure and set shit up not to hold! Her opponent is jist walking forward doing nothing…. This should be easy work. She giving this women to much time to rest! ! It’s literally one punch hold two punches hold run around to her right hand side! All her opponent has to do is cut the ring off make her go to her left!! She clearly only wants to go to her right.

@@LowEndMarauder why directly the black community ?? Shield faced big opponents like Christina Hammer (who was undefeated before facing Shield), Nicki Addler, Hanna Gabriele. Dicaire was only content to face quite weak opponents and at home (which helped her a lot). When we see the fight they made against Marisa Nunez we are entitled to wonder if the judges were not on her side. Shield will finish it on KO
