Thank you so much for a great video. Your absolutely amazing for answering everyone's questions 😄 I've subscribed to your channel, so hopefully you will add more fab tutorials xxx
THANNNNNNNNNNNK you so very much for this tutorial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing step by step instructions and I'm a visual learner, this helps me tremendously! PS..haha, loved that you fast forwarded through the cutting due to the noise. :p
You're an amazing person for doing this. I was able to load up my silhouette for the first time ever and make this happen in just a couple hours because of your wonderful tutorial. Like. Seriously. If you have a Patreon account or donation button somewhere let me know because you just saved me a ton of time. Time=Money friend. :-D
Thanks for the video! I just printed some and used the same settings you have. My kiss cut wasn't great though, some did cut the whole way through the paper....Have you found better luck using the Staples brand or another brand?
+Nicole Lynn Hmmm I love the staples brand and could not find any recently so I had to settle for the Avery Shipping Labels which lest just be honest is not really for Color printing or pretty stickers but just normal blackened white printing BUT the stickers did come out fine and even though the paper was thinner I did not have an issue with it cutting through...so I would ask if your blade was set to 1, I have found anything higher will cut through and not do the kiss cut we want on our stickers. HTH and let me know if you had any further problems!
Hello I am looking to buy a machine and I found this very informative! Thanks I was just curious as to if you made the sticker sheet in Photoshop? I'm just not sure what document formats would be able to be uploaded to the silhouette studio. Or if I have to create the images within the silhouette software! Any hell would be greatly appreciated !
Thank you for leaving me a comment my apologies for taking so long to respond! I would reference the silhouette studio software since there are several different formats supported and they also have several different software to select from.
+Shelley Rice You can trace in Adobe Illustrator and not 100% sure if you can apply layer styles with the same functionality as you can in Photoshop but it is an interesting question and I will have to look into it!
+dianahir This will differ from machine to machine...I would suggest having a look at the manual but for the Silhouette Cameo which I showcased in the video its just simply aligning the blade holder with the housing and re-inserting...I must say they have made it much easier to replace the blades over the years and it is much more user friendly.
I am cutting my boxes at the exact size and Have outlined them, my boxes are not cutting correct. It's cutting off the box and end up with white around my box. What am I doing wrong?
+Glam Rhinestones So I have heard so many people say you need to re-calibrate your cutter if it does this...I have had the same issue before and was beyond frustrated till I had a lovely chat with Silhouette's customer support and they told me I need to make sure I am selecting the correct Load Media option, always always double check if you are using a mat that you select the load with mat option or your cuts will be off. Lastly if it still happens make sure there isn't any dark smudges or something that will throw the registration marks off...then just use white out so it wont confuse the cutter ;) HTH
Hi Ms Marie K....is photo shop the only way to create the blacked out cut page? I don't have that program. I just got my silhouette and it doesn't seem to put cutlines around my images. Not sure what to do, but return it. I was hoping it was just ignorance on my part. Please help. Thanks, Lisa
+charlisa frye Hi Lisa I am so sorry for your frustration... ;( and I also have to apologize for not replying sooner. 1. Nope you don't need to use Photoshop at all the Silhouette Software is more than capable to create a trace outline...I just prefer the cleaner and truer line I get from my 2 step process. So what I would suggest is to start with an image from the silhouette design store...they have free images each week and you also get a bunch of them when you purchase your cutter and test drive them and get comfortable with the machine. If your machine is working correctly and you are not having issues with the simpler already formatted images then try this out and be sure to check out my designs in my store @thedigitalpressco shop.thedigitalpress.co/Mari-Koegelenberg-Creations/ I do have some easy to format PNG stickers that you can use and where mentioned I included the blacked out PNG so you can easily cut straight from the Silhouette Software!
so once you design something in photoshop and pull it into silhouette and get it ready to cut can you save the file like that so when you want to print and cut again you are just opening it up and its ready to go?
+Amanda Cameron Thats what I do all the time...due to restrictions I am not allowed to share the actual .studio file BUT if you copy trace and paste into your document as I described above and save it you can print out as many of these stickers as you wish ;)
+Mari Koegelenberg Thank you for replying! So do you have to print and then cut in that order everytime? Or say you wanted to make like 3 of them, can you print all 3 in a row and then cut all 3 at the same time. Does that make sense? or do you have to print then cut, print then cut and print then cut?
+Brenda Kelley Hi Brenda OMG 1st so sorry for not replying sooner ack I never saw all the comment on this video ;) so trying to make sure I do answer each one today! 1. This will work only for transparent PNG items that can typically be downloaded from Digital Scrapbooking stores...if the background is white and not transparent that might be the problem? You can always email me a screenshot if you need further assistance?
+Sarah Jimerson (Snippets of Me) I am not entirely sure, I don't use Photoshop Elements but I do think you should be able to select the image (CMD+Click on the layer thumbnail), create a new layer and using the paint bucket fill it with black, save as a copy and proceed using the rest of the tutorial.
+lubna gehani Hi there so sorry for not replying sooner...so you need the software which is available on the Silhouette site plus the machine (Silhouette Digital Die-Cutter) to make the cuts...I just use Photoshop as an additional step to get a decent traced image. HTH!
+Mari Koegelenberg thanks for responding. Curious.. What margins do you keep your art in to be in the bounds of the print and cut feature? Or do you print those boundaries when using this method?
+I💟crafting Phew that cannot be fun so sorry...is the sticker paper the right way up? I have made the mistake so many times inserting my sticker paper wrong way round (i.e. printing on the shiny non paper side). Lastly I would suggest contacting your printer manufacturer and finding out what their suggestions are...also it might be a good idea to use the printer specific brand sticker paper to avoid any further issues.
You might have already figured the problem out but if not, here's what I do... I have Canon Pixma MG7150 and I always put around 25 sheets of regular (office) paper under the one sheet of sticker paper that I want to print on because I've read that piece of advice on Avery website I think. So far, I've printed on no-name sticker paper and Print sticker paper, and both worked fine. I want to test printing on Rayfilm and Avery as well but I think the printer should print on those, too. :)
+Mari Koegelenberg Hey new to your channel! Is your Epson Printer laser? I have an Epson 3640 which one do you have?I notice you have reply to all comments! Youre amazing! Thank for all the tips! Last question is there a way to buy the complete phot shop program or only pay monthly?
my hubby does the same for his works, when he need some decals, he always save a "black vector layer" so there's a nice and clean trace.
+Tatiana Iselle Yep and yay I don't know the whole reasons why but I do know it looks nicer and the lines are closer to the original.
You saved the day! I spent hours trying to trace an image!!! Thank you! Keep sharing! By the way... I LOVED your accent.
OMG thank you ❤️❤️❤️ so glad it helped!
Thank you so much! The colour overlay helped me save a lot of time and work.
Thank you for this tutorial! I was struggling with designing my own stickers in PS and making it work easily for the Cameo. Success at last!
+Robin Stelling OMG That makes me so happy

Do you add a bleed or outline to make sure it does not cut with white around the edges?
so can you design in Silhouette studio and then move it to photoshop or do you do the design in photoshop?
Hello
I am looking to buy a machine and I found this very informative! Thanks

Hi Mary, how are you. Will you need the pix scan mat to cut the stickers? I've purchased it, but could not use it to cut other printouts.
Is there a specific way that I must put the blade back into the machine, or a specific way that I need to face it? Thank You in advance?
+dianahir This will differ from machine to machine...I would suggest having a look at the manual but for the Silhouette Cameo which I showcased in the video its just simply aligning the blade holder with the housing and re-inserting...I must say they have made it much easier to replace the blades over the years and it is much more user friendly.

+Rachelle Brown It actually is available for sale in my store @thedigitalpressco ---> shop.thedigitalpress.co/Plan-with-Me-Printable-Stickers.html

How did you get a png saved from Silhouette?
I created the PNG in Photoshop and opened it in silhouette software.
+Mari Koegelenberg thanks for responding. Curious.. What margins do you keep your art in to be in the bounds of the print and cut feature? Or do you print those boundaries when using this method?
Its something I had to test out and the best margins I have found for me were 6.75x9 inches centered on a 8.5x11 document.
for some reason my printer doesn't recognize sticker paper. it keeps saying my tray is empty when I put that paper in
+I💟crafting What kinda of printer do you have?
it might want to put it in the manual feed tray
+Kat Nguyen I have a canon MG7520

Hey there my apologies for not getting back sooner. I use a Epson printer and the cutter is a silhouette cameo.
