I recall reading that the Orcs of Lord of the Rings represent the worst aspects of war, especially modern war, and each tribe more or less fits into a different, darker, aspect of war.
Terror Tribe: The use of torture and execution to inspire fear and obedience in your enemies.
Marauder Tribe: Raiding and looting to satisfy one's greed.
Machine Tribe: Massive industrialization to fuel the war machine, and the turning of mankind's intelligence towards the mechanization of death.
Dark Tribe: Assassination, primarily when geared towards the spreading of fear in an enemy army.
Feral Tribe: The weaponization of animals for use in war. Not exactly modern, but we've been doing this for centuries, and I doubt we'll stop any time soon.
Warmonger Tribe: Self-explanatory, simple warmongering.
Mystic Tribe: Tough to characterize this one, but people have taken an esoteric and spiritual view of war for centuries. I suppose the exalting of war and death in spiritual, or religious terms. Perhaps even the urge to use esoteric means to achieve victory.
Outlaw Tribe: Violent supremacism, or revolutionary violence.
Slaughter Tribe: Bloodlust, sheer unending bloodlust.

My fav Tribes: Machine, Warmonger, and Marauder. And in my own little fantasy I imagine this: The Machine Tribe are not only the defenders of my fortresses but they also forge the weapons and armor as well as prototype special weapons such a flamethrowers, bombs, mines, etc for my main fighting force: The Warmonger Tribe who fight all my battles. Meanwhile the Marauder Tribe raids resources and wealth and they even deal with other races to fund and supply my other 2 fav tribe's efforts in helping me TAKE OVER ALL OF MORDOR!

My favorites are dark terror and mystic the mystic tribe crafts cursed weapons for my army while the terror tribe eliminates any opposition and the dark tribe uses there great reputation with sauron for large amounts of slaves and soldiers

Dominated Orc Tribes:
- Feral Tribe
Lore decision: These Orcs are barely smarter than the beasts they cage, they will be easy to tame and control.
- Machine Tribe
Lore decision: Far too useful to ignore, these Orcs are the biggest provider of weapons and war machines compared to the other tribes.
- Marauder Tribe
Lore decision: Loyalty to Sauron is already weak here, these Orcs are easily manipulated and bought to fill necessary holes.
- Warmonger Tribe
Lore decision: This tribe contains the bulk of Sauron’s forces, the biggest tribe in terms of sheer numbers. Control here is absolutely necessary for the war effort.
Enemy Orc Tribes:
- Dark Tribe
Lore decision: No other tribe is more loyal to Sauron, attempts to dominate would be risky, and with their relatively small numbers, it wouldn’t be worth the effort.
- Mystic Tribe
Lore decision: These Orcs are a blight, creating undead revenants out of our own fallen that cannot be turned back to our side. At all costs, they must be eradicated.
- Outlaw Tribe
Lore decision: Not even Sauron could dominate these Orcs, they are far too rebellious and proud of their savage nature to fight for another’s cause.
- Slaughter Tribe
Lore decision: Dominating these Orcs would be a huge logistical problem; the last thing we need in an organized army, is a group of hungry cannibals.
- Terror Tribe
Lore decision: Their tactics are redundant, useless against fellow Orcs, and would serve no purpose in the Bright Lord’s war.

@@FeinryelRavenclaw in fallout new vegas you have decide wich tribes and factions you ally and wich one you destroy. These decisions have an influence on the final battle and the game tells you in the end what happens after its finished depending on the combination of tribes you allied with
@@meisterproper8304 oh, well then yeah. Pretty much. This game isn’t as complex as that, but it’s still fun to recruit orcs only from the tribes that you choose to recruit from.
yeah i only take the strongest and most badass looking ones and the dark tribe is the most badass tribe but most of them are assassins so no chance and they can often escape instant with a smoke bomb

Orc Tribes Cultural Lore HC-
Terror Tribe: The most antisocial and psychotic members of the orcs. Most lacked the basic social skills for an army or citizen so they were sequestered away where they were given the task of guarding prisoners. Soon they started torturing the prisoners and making it a cultural art form. They were brought back as torturers to extract information and execute prisoners that outlived their usefulness, as well as inspire fear amongst the troops. Many perform masochistic rituals in order to immune themselves to pain and achieve a higher form of enlightenment.
Marauder Tribe: Orcs that lived closer to humans, elves, and dwarf settlements so most of their trade came from being bandits and robbers giving them more access to what other races considered valuable. As many such orcs had dealings with humans and are better at socializing with them This gave them a big ego boost and their attire suggests this view that they are supirior.
Machine Tribe: Orcs that spend most of their time making and forging weapons for other tribes giving them this central need amongst the race and thus they view themselves as important to the whole race. Thus they have this post-self ideology that it is their work and inventions that are more important than any single individual.
Dark Tribe: These are the most zealous orcs amongst their kind to the point that they worship Sauron as a god. They spend much of their time performing gg rituals and converting other orcs into the true servitude of Sauron and will engage win clinching members that they see as sacrilegious to their lord and master.
Feral Tribe: Orcs that have survived on their own far from other races and spend much of their time as hunters and gatherers. It is typically a rite of passage to either slay or tame a wild beast and they have the closest bond with each other compared to other tribes. Of all the tribes they are the closest to the orcs that stayed away from Sauron's influence.
Warmonger Tribe: These orcs have been raised and trained from birth to be a lethal fighting force to secure orc dominance across Middle-Earth. Titles and ranks are passed down from bloodlines and many leaders seek to raise the next orc overlord amongst their clans. Typically mercenaries, these orcs see Saurons' coming as a sign, a chance to achieve their desired reward and die as true warriors.
Mystic Tribe: These Orcs have a closer allegiance to the Nazgul than to Sauron himself. They frequently attempt to learn and practice magic that is either hidden or forbidden from orckind. They seek to cheat death permanently and are using Sauron and his minions as a way to ensure orc supremacy over all of Middle-Earth.
Outlaw Tribe: Orcs that rebelled from Sauron and the Nazgul. They act as a revolutionary army but they are no more than a nuisance for Sauron. The only reason he hasn't wiped them out is that their "orc supremacy" ideology makes them a threat to invading outsiders. They have a "Mad Max" survivalist ideology and most get work as guides, scavengers, and bounty hunters.
Slaughter Tribe: These guys were basically a group of inbred, redneck orcs that got lost and were forced to cannibalize each other to survive. When they reintegrated into Mordor they were given the task of cooks and servers due to their ability to make use of the abundance of "meat" amongst the orcs.

I just wish Tolkien had deemed orcs as worthy of fleshing out as he did his elven language.

@@martarlhermansteinjr2294 For me, the first big question I would’ve loved him to answer would’ve been how do orcs feed themselves and their beasts? Raiding's okay, but on it’s own does not provide a steady enough food supply to amass the kinds of armies he described. And yes, in the Hobbit, orcs and goblins lived in seperate societies and occasionally teamed up to raid a town or something. But still, what do they do when they're not raiding, fighting, or hunting?

I try to match the tribe to the different regions. Make them fit into the environment and so on. So far I have:
Nurn (forest/jungle): Slaughter tribe. They butcher the wildlife. The guy who runs my fortress there is titled "Meat Hoarder" and is an Olog with a big meat club.
Seregost (winter region): Feral. They live in the wild snowy mountains.
The desert region (forgot name): Outlaw. They got the cowboy vibes.
Volcano Region (also forgot the name): Machine. Their forges fit in so nicely with the smoke and the lava.
Cirith Ungol: Dark. The whole assassin vibe fits nicely with the spiders I think.

I think the slaughter tribe should be in winter region while the feral tribe in jungle.
Lithlad and Gogoroath
I put the Machine Tribe in Seregost. Something to help warm my troops in the harsh winter

Only thing I hate about outlaw and slaughter tribe's is the dlc makes you think you get a whole new region but it's just a for skin..

Terror tribe have the best symbol, machine most fiting music and most lore friendly fort design, mystics are the most terrifying and well cut trailer.
Marauders and outlaws are the least lore friendly and illogical.
Warmonger and feral the most generic but fitting, slaughter is good but way too focus on just food and not on fascination on flesh. Dark tribe fit as orks hate/fear/dont like light but the masks are weird and ork assassin seams also weird.
Besides marauders and outlaws and maybe dark all quite fit in game world and Tolkien work. The machine tribe have the feeling as caverns of Insergard.
