and then wrote another and another and another album. potential to be the greatest melodic rock band of all time. i mean just listen to blue murder and slip of the tongue. these are good albums
Coverdale really messed up with not holding on to Sykes and Murray . And to make it worse Vandenberg and Sarzo got the spotlight for this album . Which had nothing to do with them . Even now Vandenberg plays this on his solo tours , like it was his work with Coverdale . Sykes got screwed badly .
I was looking online trying to find an analysis of this song. Its highs, its middle parts, the build up to the end. I had no idea that this gem existed. Thank you and God bless you for uploading. This song - this band - got me through high school. Thanks again!
This song is the masterpiece of rock!! The synchronism between the supreme lords of rock (Coverdale, Sykes, Murray and Dunbar) is magical, incomparable!
A great whitesnake demo still of the night the amazing lightning ⚡️ from John Sykes and the high rise of David’s voice with the pitch. It was a great video too listen too 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
This version = Super FIRE!! The biggest travesty in rock was Sykes untimely departure from Whitesnake. I have heard a few versions why Sykes left or was booted. I tend to believe Coverdale’a ego was the correct version.
From what I heard, JS recruited a new vocalist for Whitesnake while DC was ill which pissed him off big time and led to the fallout. But u know, we'll never know the exact
@@Werner4voss Interesting. I have never heard that, but if true I can see why Sykes was booted. But I thought David had control of that band? Well if I he does I see why someone coming in on vocals would have even been worse.
@@Werner4voss not sure I believe this. Each member was let go at different times. Would think if it was a "mutiny" they'd all be let go at the same time. Also, they fired John and then had the neck to ask him to do the guitar for Here I Go Again. He told them where to stuff it (although he did finish parts for other songs he wrote)
@@Werner4voss when Sykes was forming Blue Murder he and Cozy Powell tried Ray Gillen for a while, Tony Martin for another second but those didn't work out too good. Martin got writing credit for Valley of the Kings on first BM album.
Whatever happened with them , is a true shame . It was basically a cover band touring this album with Coverdale , on that tour . Sykes deserved at least to be able to tour the album he co wrote .
I’ve never noticed the guitar parts before the bridge. Sounds weird without vocals, but I love it, and that could’ve been the riff for an entirely different song.
I think that if I had a choice, I would have rerecorded this and pushed it. Don't get me wrong. I like the final cut that we got. But I always love to hear how the artists wrote it before the arrangers came in and chopped it up. I actually like that fact that the guitar solo was on here. And John Sykes was still killing it.
Yeah, and Keith Olsen said he had to bring in another guitarist to help finish the album because Sykes wasn’t capable of repeating his own guitar parts. That’s one bonehead that doesn’t deserve to RIP! Haters are gonna hate as they say. Mr Sykes is the ultimate!
Ah but think if John had stayed in Whitesnake we would never had gotten the first near perfect Blue Murder lp. Anyway the frilly shirts woulda looked better on Sykes and David woulda fired him eventually anyway.
RIP John ♥️🙏
ありがとう。安らかにお眠りください。
John Sykes is a legend
Damn sure is!!!
Total ear candy. John Sykes f.cking guitar overlord
John's tone was just sonic perfection!!
Sykes tone is epic. Wish he would do more.
I love how raw this sounds
Imagine if this lineup toured for this album. My God...

Oh, by the way, John Sykes was on fire of course.

@@micway71 If I remember correctly, it was Ray Gillen who Sykes approached in replacement of Coverdale.

It's like a live version we never got.
Yes, unfortunately it's true, they would have been great on stage😔
Could never picture Sykes sharing the stage with ergh Vivian ( why the long face ) Campbell. Vandenberg maybe.

Its been David Coverband since before Slide it In was released in the US.
John is and was so good of a guitarist. Just epic!!!!!

look for the shadow of "Cozy Powell", but Ainsley Dunbar did a great job!

like this. yea. who ever came up with this bullshit should listen to blue murder
these myths around the 1987 are absolute bonkers

Coverdale is such a FOOL for letting Sykes go smh. Imagine what could have been if there were 3 more albums with Sykes!
How've you got this?
Wheres this from ??
I found it on RUclips and downloaded it then it disappeared then I uploaded it again, I don't know anything more!

Sykes is the best guitar player on the whitesnake
