Mavis was sorta being selfish this whole time, she just wanted to live the life she always dreamed of living in the human world with her husband and son though they disapproved of the idea since they already loved living in Hotel Tyranslviana in the monster world, but she did finally come to her senses at the end and she apologizes to her dad and husband and son for her behavior and would have agreed to have her and husband and son continue living in Tyranslviana even if Dennis didn't get his vampire abilites.
2:03: I love how Mavis came to realize how overprotective she has been after her father calls her grandfather out for not accepting the fact Dennis is half-human
Can you blame him? He wasn't told of the change or even given the chance to change. He was kept out of the loop of the changes. The movie had Drac be the villain only for it uproot that and make Vlad and the man bats into the bad guys instead of Drac realizing he was truly in the wrong.
Mavis's own quarreling with her husband and dad over what was best for her son is what caused him to run away because he dosen't like all that fighting.
Dracula: your great grandson is sweetest kindest most special boy l've ever met and if you can't give him the love he deserves because he's half human then you're the fool.
It's not true when they say he is who he is, he is who he chooses to be people can't decide who he is supposed to be who they want him to be. He can be whoever he wants to be. That is one thing that they can never change about him. Not now not ever
@shawnwhitter5968 So was Dracula. He couldn't accept the idea of his grandson being more human like, and almost got Dennis killed and traumatized trying to force the fangs out. Some people have pointed out that Dennis getting his fangs at the end of the movie was a slight cop out and that he should of remained human like.
"Your great-grandson is the sweetest, kindest, most special boy I've ever met. And if you can't give him the love he deserves because he's half-human, then you're the fool."
What I like is that at the beginning of the movie. Dracula said that Johnny was too afraid to say anything. But here Johnny comes to Drac's defence and he finally was saying how he disagrees with what Mavis is trying to do with Dennis. Also standing up to Vlad when he insults him.
Well Drac’s been out in the world a lot more than his Dad, who seems to just be isolating himself, probably learned to talk differently after so many years.
In all the dracula movies I have seen since my childhood no offspring of Vlad Dracula has ever stood up and had the courage to follow his own heart and protect his son in law and grandson before.
The fact that the whole family fighting is what cracked me tf up! vlad is originally the guy who was inspired to make dracula he wasn't a vampire originally the ironic thing is that his name was Vlad the impaler and vampires die there being impaled by wooden stakes
Old man Vlad's name comes from Vlad The 2nd. Vlad Dracul (Dragon) . Vlad the third (who is vlad the impaler) is Vlad Dracula (Son of the dragon) so they both are Vlad. Grandpa is not a Dracul*A* thats all
Alternate dialogue starting after 1:50 Dracula: You’re right. I am a fool……… for not realizing that my grandson was already perfect, fangs or no fangs, for trying to force him to be something he may or may not want to be, for betraying my daughters trust, and worst of all, for nearly doing to him what YOU DID TO ME. Mavis: Dad, what do you mean. Dracula: I…..was a late fanger too. He possessed my pet raccoon, Lulu. The look in her eyes after I scared her, still haunts me. And I was about to let him do it all over again.
I agree mavis was being worst mother in the first sequel she could just let Dennis have his choice not her choice, besides she doing her own way, and Dennis running away because of her parenting.
Honestly this scene makes me realize why I think this is the weakest movie in the trilogy, im going to ignore the fourth movie. The movie portrayed Drac as the problem, almost getting Denise killed, not accepting that he wasn't a monster l, not being able to give his family breathing room or to let go. Then the movie makes Vlad and the Man bats into the wrong and as the villain's at the very end.
@@DamnZtar No that's how mothers are and remember Denise is only 5 years old so it makes sense. Mavis wasn't sure if he was going to get his powers which didn't happen until the end. I mean look at what kind of danger Dracula put his own grandson in because he couldn't stand his family moving away or being like him. Is that a great example of a grandfather?
@@mandalorianhunter1It makes sense character development wise. Dracula still has some trauma from his wife's murder and still hadn't fully accepted humans in his heart. He had to let go of both his lingering bias against humans and had to learn to let his daughter and son in law make their own decisions. Even if they went through with moving to California.
@@TimberlakeTigerGirl So he still has this in the fourth movie with Johnny? Character development wise is okay when he takes accountability, but what I posted about is that he didn't take and the movie shifted to Vlad and Bats being in the wrong when they were never given a chance. If you want to talk about character development, why didn't they get any real development? Dracula's development wasn't that good.
@@mandalorianhunter1 Honestly the fourth movie never should of happened because it completely undid everything Dracula learned in the previous 3 movies. As for Drac's dad, maybe they should of been the villains in the 3rd movie instead of Van Helsing. For one, that's overrated and didn't make any sense story wise. The 3rd movie could still have Dracula find a human love interest, but have her be the reincarnation of Martha. But I digress, the 3rd movie could of been about Drac's father learning the same things Dracula did; that co existence with humans was possible.
