      Sir Robin of Camelot what do they have in common aside from needing dedicated practice? As a pianist and a smash player, I wouldn’t really say there are many parallels aside from needing patient, dedicated practice...

    • @Sir_Robin_of_Camelot
      @Sir_Robin_of_Camelot 4 года назад +15

      @@Bamblagram The combination of execution requirements and creativity/expression. Never fully "mastered". Most people have to get into some sort of flow to play well. It's analog to the point there's often no "correct" option like in other fighting games for example, which are often "choose the correct algorithm in this situation". It's more of go with a good option and then improvise. Maybe a guitar solo would be a better analogue.

    • @Bamblagram
      @Bamblagram 4 года назад +8

      @@Sir_Robin_of_Camelot Great thoughtful answer. I do agree with you to some extent- especially in regard to "flow states", I can see a lot more similarities in improvising a great jazz solo & playing advantage state extremely well. Having an open mind and being creative, letting your skill carry you through those flow states. However, I think those similarities exist in many different hobbies and I would still consider them as a whole, non-comparable.

    I have no interest in learning melee, as I am an Ultimate player for life, but this was still very interesting to watch. Thanks Leffen

    It's crazy how much easier it is now. I remember looking online before RUclips cause everyone was talking about L canceling and I couldn't find anything helpful online how to do it

    Don’t really have any interest in picking up melee but damn I’m super impressed by whoever made Blippi cause I’ve never seen a mod to practice and play the game as good as this

    I probably already wave dash but don't even realize it was something special. I do so much trigger rolling and air dodging. But honestly I'm more into Brawl as much as I did love Melee. My first taste was 64. I still haven't played the latest one. Nintendo said they want people to focus on the more recent titles. And they said we get away with so much as far as emulation, etc that they feel like it's some bullshit. But yeah if I had some time on my hands in Quarantine I would go for it. Melee has a cleanness and finish to it. It's almost as endless as the event horizon on Final Destination.

    In sfv top level players sit in waiting rooms with recording an opponents options and just labs things out for hours on end. For melee this is amazing to see!

    Was gonna pour a lot of hours into melee after being hyped from ludwigs tourney to everyone re watching the old doc and watching the new one. This makes me so happy to know if I am doing these techniques right.

    Proper lab & training mode for fighting games. I am not a fg player but when I watch video of Daigo use random playback to train his reaction speed, I was amazed by it.

    A video on the random save state would be so great!
    I feel like my practice is often limited by 20xx and UP 1.1 (updating that now!) forcing me to tunnel vision on hyperspecific situations. Athough I may be 8/10 on upsmash punish on marth f smash in training when its the only thing I'm looking for, I often miss the reaction cue to execute it in games!
