Listen man, you actually not being a provable radiant but lying about it has never been a big issue for me. What threw me off your content was the inflated ego you addressed today. It takes a lot of courage to do that publicly. I will support you in any way I can as you work through this. Thank you for modeling how we can acknowledge our mistakes without ruminating.
huge agree on this. I had heard that he wasn't really radiant and in my head I was just thinking like "Ok, so what? He still helped 1000s of people climb on their own." But I had noticed I had been less inclined to tune into streams or watch every video. I think this video highlights the issue for me. I didn't like the way he coached any more. It was more "Why haven't you watched this video?" or "You could have found this out yourself." etc.
@@meaty_ochre Almost his entire community is like that as well, awkward socially underdeveloped nerds that hate human interaction and will mute you or shittalk you for asking a question because "goOgLe iT"
I can't believe lying to build your audience isn't a big deal. Lmao. We're normalizing lying while being upset about him being a meanie head sometimes? Our morals are messed up. Society is screwed lmao.
huge respect for bananaman here, it's the first val content creator who apologize and admit for his inflated ego. you can say it's also selfish for him to lie but for sure there's the humanity on choosing to spread valorant knowledge without asking for a lot of money.
It is likely that a great number of radiant RUclipsrs are watching your videos for tips and insights, including myself. You are one of the best legit coaches out there. Focus on yourself and your community. On the internet, everyone seems to be looking for someone's downfall, because that's human nature. When some people live to comfortably they just want to seek the destruction of others for entertainement. It's like watching a car crash, some people like.
the dude was pretty much scamming people, claiming he had experience and had peopel spend hundreds to take his coaching classes lmao. Even if this is "mature" even though its manipulative... He still scammed people lol. This is no different then an indian guy taking your gmas gift cards lmao.
@@gizmobrooch8577 Hi, I understand where you are coming from but maybe still take a step back. He still at least gave the people good high level coaching (If he would have been bad at coaching someone would have noticed that he can't be radiant, and he has evidently gotten people better at the game), it doesn't excuse it, but at least it makes the damage dealt a lot less that what you are saying here. Second, people make mistakes in their lives. They stand up to them and want to be better, does that mean nothing to you? Do you want everyone to never forgive you amd no one to ever support you again should you ever make a grave mistake in life? No offense to you of course, I just maybe wanted you to at least rethink. Have a nice day
@@xivsilvas1917except for the fact that its not a scam because it works. so he's more like a qualified doctor that lied about having a degree when he's better at being a doctor than the doctors who got the degree. honestly, the best "apology" video I've seen, no bullshitting just straight up apologizing for your mistakes and showing how you'll try to improve. BIG RESPECT HOOJ
I do appreciate that he had a script as well. I feel his is very emotional about this still. I am thankful that he was able to realize how he felt and make it less emotional of a video
@@qxponix589If you know Hooj for a while that’s the way he is, he’ll be organized mentally before doing anything, I honestly think he’s being genuine about it
The ego thing is a product of teaching/instruction. I field train in my career and let me tell you, it's a delicate balance between patience and understanding and expectations. Then when you have above average to great knowledge coupled with strong self-discipline, you expect everybody else to achieve what you achieved based solely on your own progression and ability to learn and teach. It's easy to grow an ego this way. It's easy to become jaded to the same explanations of the same problems to various people, even though you covered it in a way that you believe should've sufficed so you wouldnt have to be repetitive from trainee to trainee. "Just put the detail in the report" "Just be confident" "Just read the policy again, it's straight forward and obvious" These are the things I've caught myself saying and, like you, made me feel like I've become bitter towards the very people im supposed to be trying to help. The first step to fixing it is acknowledging it. Good on you.
there's no valorant content as curated and educational as yours. as an autistic person, i felt alone in my learning struggles surrounding this game until i found you. i'm grateful that you recognise how many people look up to you as a role model. we're all rooting for you! 💕
thiiiiis^ also autistic and struggle with ADHD + a dissociative disorder as well, it causes me to have a hard time paying attention and following complex topics because yeah, just keep having to take the videos back but never is this the case with hooj, i've played valorant on and off since beta and the first time i started improving was literally just a few months ago when i found hooj i'm glad he's apologising and recognising he has become jaded - we've all been there, and what matters is he noticed and chose to speak up about it and take accountability (which is incredibly hard to do), and the forward steps he's taking with streams are really promising! it's great
As someone who's played with woohoojin at multiple riot events, i will say he does understand the game at a radiant level regardless of his literal rank
Yeah that's the thing tho he only understand the game at a radiant level and as of right now he isn't applying that as proven by his current rank however i believe that in time he will be getting that rank (radiant)
@@petormaculan5424 yet he did it for a long while, scamming people out of money, claiming he had experience at a set level but didnt, and charging 100+ per hour lmao. I can call your gma up and scam her out of her bank money, and Id know what I did was wrong... But that doesnt make it okay or forgivable. Pretty much this guy is the indias version of a scam call, lies about his profession (rank) and ask for money promising something in return, that youll get a shitty version of.
having understanding and being one are very different things. tmv understands the game at pro level but doesnt market himself as radiant. and when you market yourself as such to an audience for monetary benefits it does leave a bad taste in the mouth
I was unaware of the drama, but I appreciate this--I quit watching because I'd noticed what felt like growing resentment towards your own audience. I struggled with similar emotions in my own content creation career and decided to move on as a result. Goodo luck, hooj.
Deng I thought I was the only person to feel this way about his content. As I’m reading through the comment section, it’s very interesting to see that many others have felt the same way. Still wishing the banana man best of luck moving forward tho 👍🫶
Good on you man salt reflection is hard. I’ve watched your stuff a long time and I did feel the shift towards more ego at times. It kinda confused me but I get it. Taking steps to help your mental is super important especially with so many eyes on you so that’s awesome. Good luck with becoming who you want to be again.
Good luck! I recently found myself watching fewer and fewer of your videos for the past 2 months as they were not as enjoyable - in hindsight, it was definitely due to the increased negativity and impatience that was bleeding through. I was also shocked to learn about you not having been radiant and that comes with mixed feelings. That being said, I really did enjoy a lot of your earlier videos and streams and do believe that you will hit radiant with some hard work. We want the old Whohoojin back (maybe new and improved version??) and we support the journey it will take to get there.
Been watching for a while and I’ve slowly drifted away from your content as the vibes from your content just completely changed. I hope you’re able to make the changes you want in your life and content. Good luck Woohoojin.
Bro is either a master manipulator, or the most sincere potassium in the world, I’ve been a lurker on stream and in RUclips for a couple years now, and all this growth is incredible, this video perfectly summed up all the ideals and standpoints that Ive always associated with you (the good ideals not the bad) glad to see you getting back in the groove!
@@origin666Maybe Guilt tripping, I forgot the name but owning up to your problems sincerely can be considered Manipulation, I do it to my parents to avoid trouble, if you cause a problem and you say sorry and acknowledge your mistake and say it out loud while also deeming yourself wrong, it can be considered manipulation but I doubt it is anyone who watching hooj content will know
Good for you Man I don’t think it really mattered weather or not you got radiant because you are a extremely high quality coach and most coaches have never been pros your videos are my favourite to watch and learn more about the game keep it up lots of love bro 💪
Honestly the radiant Drama has been a real eye opener for you and it will improve you as a character, coach and streamer. I’m glad to see that there are still people that can self critique and take accountability. Not one apology video I have seen from content creators actually seem sincere and real except for this single one. Keep up the good work man. The whole community also knows you’re gonna hit radiant man no one denies the skill you have. It shows since you have been able to get people to radiant. Much love man!
One thing i've always respected about you Hooj is your commitment to being open with your viewers. A lot of the time content creators will claim to be 'open' with their viewers yet will always hide deeper truths behind a facade. I obviously can't say for certain that you haven't / won't do this, but as an outsider viewer looking in, especially when all of this stuff came to light, you were open and honest with your viewerbase, asking questions trying to understand our views on the whole matter. You didn't approach it as simply just 'viewers being upset for noooo reason' you asked questions, you cared. I think one thing of note is when you talk about 'the 100th student i need to tell about map refragging' and 'why don't they just watch my video on map refragging', I personally find it hard to locate these specific topics at times on your channel due to the content-y nature of SOME of the titles. I don't personally feel this is your fault, you are running a youtube channel - of course you have to play to youtube's rules, however I think perhaps categorising the videos into different playlists such as "mechanics videos" could make it a lot more accessible and easier to find. I truly think your videos have such a high educational value to them and have helped me learn a lot as a player. I've went from zero to hero. Thank you Woohoojin. /srs
I remember I was so excited to join the hooj discord so I could join in on the live chat. But when I realized that people were being timed out for asking questions, I felt super discouraged and just left.
YESSIR AND I STAND BY THAT SHIT Its very rare I find a content creator that I can always be proud to support because they're so genuine. I wish you nothing but the best of luck on the road to being proud of who you are. I'll be supporting you the whole time because I know you're a good dude. Despite what you said in this video, you are not a bad person. You took copious amounts of time to help me with so much both in game and out of game. You're the reason that I have my very own community and that I didn't have to give up on content creation as an aspiration. I'm rooting for you big dog. - the #1 hooj fan til I hit the grave on god
The amount of help and good he’s done despite how he sees himself right now is truly admirable. I’m going through a similar character change in my life currently and I’m going to also take further steps to right my wrongs and become a better person - #1.5 Hooj fan for life
This will affect lives way more than any double satchel ever will. I needed to hear this. We are all far from perfect and this level of humility and kindness is beautiful. Thank you banana the real one’s know
you truly have an amazing support system, that you deserve !! proud of you for stepping up & i wish those who looked out for you during this rough patch many blessings
Honestly not surprised to hear that you were inspired by Dr. K. As someone who has been watching you since before you started coaching JPC, your sincerity and self-awareness is a lot of what drew me towards your content. I always had faith that you would come back around and I'm glad to see that faith wasn't misguided. Here's to a brighter future that younger Hooj would be proud of!
Amazing apology, and exactly what I believe many of us in the community needed to hear. Hope you're doing well and ready to come back better and healthier than ever! Though now I have to start playing ranked again so I can be in the 5 stack games on the Stage Channel!! I can't believe you've done this to me...
Honestly, best apology type video ive ever watched, props to you Woohoojin it takes a lot to actually admit what you did wrong and recongize that. I also feel like its a pretty good thing that this was brought up because it brought other stuff to his attention as well that he lied, its good because it helped him realize what he did wrong again and start the process to change it and be a better person. (no this isnt meant to be hateful its meant to be good)
I am so surprised you aren't radiant but that doesn't change my view on you. You are still an amazing player, content creator, and fabulous coach. I just started watching your video 2 or 3 weeks ago and I have already ranked up 2 times. All the best hooj.
Bro the fact that you recognize your mistakes and admit them takes so much strength. We will support your journey to become the best banana you can ever be. Love from the community, you can do this!
Hey man, believe it or not, your emphasis on developing an improvement-oriented mentality helped me land a management promotion IRL and is something I aim to pass down to anyone who works under me. Everything about getting worse first to get better in the long run, everything about not getting too satisfied with short term success, everything about being able to objectively review your own behavior to see where improvement can be made, all of it. Thanks hooj. I never left, and always knew your heart was in the right place. I'm so glad you found a path back
Eh honestly, you found out about your bad sides and choose to acknowledge them and work on them. That's enough. Your videos really made me play better at this game and enjoy it way more. Lying is indeed a addicting drug. And now you know you did it. You can work on it. I wish you goodluck mr Banana. And I hope to see a lot more awesome guides and tutorials when you have time.

Hooj, I've been a follower of your content for some time now, and I feel compelled to express how profoundly you've impacted my life. You as a person have not only helped me improve at Valorant but have also reshaped my general outlook on life - it almost feels like having an older sibling in a way. (Not in a parasocial way) There were times when my goals seemed unreachable and my interests felt like a waste of time. But you have really shown me that no interest is necessarily a waste of time, incremental progress in any field will lead to results and often times the connections between two things are stronger than you may think. Your emphasis on daily effort has shown me that my aspirations are well within reach no matter how stupid they maybe. You have resonated with me in a way no other content creator has and while I may not have even been an active chatter, having the community you had fostered be there everyday had brought a strange comfort to me that I had never felt before. Thank you for everything. Acknowledging and identifying the areas we need to to grow in is the first step towards true progress Let's be great
Thank you for making this video Woohoojin, it means more than I can put to words as someone who has been in your community for more than a year. I appreciate the space you've given me for finding like-minded players who want to improve and learn about an interesting tactical FPS instead of blindly running it down ranked while refusing to self analyze. I've learned so much from you, your streams, and your videos, and not just about Valorant too, and I hope that doesn't change.
a lot of these points were the reason i slowly, over time, started hating the content you put out for us and eventually stopped watching the videos, eventhough i feel like my play has significantly increased in quality thanks to the advice you always give. reflecting on your own actions or rather even being able to acknowledge them in the first place is a tough thing to do and eventhough im a random and my opinion doesnt matter it makes me happy to see a video on this topic now. me personally i dont care about the whole rank thingy and im excited for a reformed banana man :D. i always loved your tips and commentary in your early videos and now im really looking forward to that again. hope everythings gonna be alright for you and dont forget to take the breaks you need, keep it up!
Banana man STILL spittin 🔥 I never cared about rank. I never cared about ego. Which i never thought you had an excessive amount of. (A little bit of ego is good in a coach all of the great traditional sports coaches have some sort of ego) I only cared about the wisdom and in every youtube vid i watched and every stream i tuned in to i was able to learn something. Thats all i can ask for from a coach. But shout out to you for meeting your students where they are and addressing their concerns Your ability to self reflect and to strive to be one of the all time great teachers is respectable and i believe will only lead you to more success. You deserve that shit Sincerely a casual viewer lurking for info.
People fuck up all the time, in our personal and professional lives. Taking accountability for our mistakes and making plans to better our self is what growth is all about. As far as the boosting I understand why it upset people, and if you were charging for your services I would be upset too. But you dont charge, you give out free and extremely valuable advice (see the going rate of other coaches) and it has helped me be a better solo q player. I watched your VOD review for a Reyna on Lotus and it immediately made me understand that I was looking at the game in such a black and white way when it is as nuanced as a game of Chess. So thank you for all you do for the community and I wish you the best in your introspective process!
Long rant ahead, chances of this comment not getting read are high, but felt like typing it more for me than for the people who read it. I've been oscilating throughout Hooj's journey the past few months. When it was revealed the Radiant rank was JeyG's doing I was still supportive, since the coaching is why I watch the channel, not the gameplay. Additionally, Hooj's coaching has definitive proof of being great. After all, the same player that boosted his account was his former student. Then after the blaming teammates and duo started happening it didn't bode well with me. It's common to blame and complain, yet, it's also the "easy way out" this channel has always reminded me to avoid. Or used to, at least. I've been hardstuck Gold for almost 3 years, yet I've never succumbed to using my diamond friend in hopes of ranking up to Platinum, due to this channel reminding me I can learn to use bad teammates for my advantage, do more shotcalling in hopes of controlling the game, and most importantly, keeping an optimistic and healthy mindset while playing. It's my fault for not being able to climb out, it's definitively a "skill issue" as Hooj once said to himself. But it's easy to admit that and then relax, after all, most of us know the reason we play this game is to have fun, not *just* climb the ranks. It's harder to take action and improve. When the duo with JeyG happened it felt more of a betrayal than the Radiant coaching advertising. I was reminded of jpc, and the "boomer to diamond" series. Jpc got to diamond through effort, dedication and Hooj's coaching. No lies, no cope. In that regard, the latest content feels like a shell of the ideology that was presented. The lie that truly made me think was the philosophy this channel followed, and how it the content didn't reflect it anymore. We're all human though, and people do change, it's normal and impossible to stay consistent, specially when the context around you changes so much too. The content shifting more towards entertainement rather than learning is expected, and I think that's okay. Coaching sessions transformed into something more monotone, where Hooj repeated things he has said multiple times before to students that have heard it for the first time ever. Adding to the frustration. The custom nature of personal vod reviewing was lost, since despite students, maps and agents being very different from eachother people were getting similar advice, something you can grasp watching year old guides on this channel. Something that I see happening often to people that teach is that eventually they dominate the subject so much that everything sounds obvious to them, yet students are always new, having never heard of some things before. I'm amazed at the self-awareness of this video. I truly appreciate the transparency and genuine talk, sometimes we as viewers forget we're all people, with feelings and goals. Sitting back and thinking about where you are every once in a while is a great excercise, the world moves so fast we need to slow it down sometimes. Hooj's timing for that excercise to be practiced got replaced with the Radiant grind instead, which came with multiple people watching and judging. It's difficult not to succumb to the pressure. As a silent viewer (not so much right now) who still watches every video I appreciate the 8 minutes of peace this video provided. As many others will do I'll still follow and support silently. Excited for what there is to come. Thanks for all the content, take it easy
This is great! I noticed lots of these things, like timing out people in your chat for not understanding things such as hidden mmr, when they might just be knew. I was confused because your supposed to help people with this, not stop them even getting the chance to interact with you. After I saw the boosted thing, I wasn’t sure what to think. But my opinion did drop of you. After this I can say that I have a lot more respect for you then I used to. Glad you have made this change
Whatever the problem of been or not a radiat, you teach a lot of stuff that improves techniques, mindset, tricks, tips a many other stuff to a lot of people including myself. Thank you for your content and hard work and keep doing it.
Hey Hooj, it takes maturity to admit what you did wrong, looking inwards and owning up to it. It is a tough thing to do though and not fun. I haven't played a lot of Valorant recently because I don't feel great about the pricing of their cosmetics or with how they barely give anything back to the community. No ranked skins and the BP skins are so bad, it is laughable, no vfx, no kill sounds, still has default weapon "skins" with glitter and stickers.. Still, at the time I was watching you, I had mostly fond memories and tried to learn (and definitely failed multiple times) from you. I get where you come from when you mentioned a place and feeling of comfort and wanting to spread that. You might never return to the "old Woohoojin" but maybe that is for the best, it is a new possibility to become someone better - and sometimes it takes certain experiences to be able to make that change. You got this man.
Yes, i stopped watching your video for months, even when your previous guides helped me a lot. But now, when I see this vid title, i know its time to come back to my Jazzy Banana coach. You are very brave Woohoojin, and we all respect that.
Honestly, as a long time viewer, after watching so much of your content, seeing your tendencies, and seeing how you initially reacted to the drama, I never expected a formal apology video out of you, and I definitely never expected you to address the other concerns people have had outside of the radiant drama, like how you cope in ranked and how you've treated your community, chat, and students, etc. For myself, and I think many others, your statements and reaction after the initial drama left much to be desired but I can really see here that you are finally truly reflecting on everything and I believe this is what many people really wanted to see. I wish you the best and looking forward to see how you grow from here. :hoojHeart:
Hey man I'm glad you're going on the right path adn becoming better, I don't necessarily feel betrayed anymore because I understand why you did what you wanted to do, however the best advice I can give you my guy to put you in the mental state right now and to help you climb the ladder as well is to go to the gym and hit the weights, you will be amazed by how much better that makes you feel. I will be streaming and making videos of myself trying to hit higher ranks and of course I can't do it without your tips and tricks buddy!
Hooj, you are a great coach in the valorant community and I know everyone respects you for your willingness to take criticism and work on it. I've definitely seen the shift from your very early coaching vods to the most recent ones, and as a teacher myself, I can understand after describing something for the 100th time how you would feel frustrated that people don't just see what feels obvious for you. I find that the best thing for me is to know that each of my students are earnestly trying their best to improve, and I have lots of experience that they don't have, which leads me to make assumptions and observations that they haven't made yet. Your students look up to you and value your advice, and your platform is a stage for many to hear your amazing mind but also to constantly observe your character. I believe that you truly do have the heart of a teacher, wanting their students to succeed, and I have taken some of your ideas into how I teach as well. I believe that you will grow from this as long as you continue to spend time using self-analysis to work on your skills as a coach and community leader. I am cheering for you and looking forward to your best self! ❤
I think subconsciously I may have noticed this, which might be the reason I’ve been watching less and less of each video. I fell in love with your content because your passion for teaching valorant sparked a passion for me to learn Valorant, which made me excited to watch your videos. Alongside this, in the past your content mixed in with your community, resulting in amazing events such as funday Fridays. This along with how personally you interacted with members of this community further made me love and enjoy your content as well as respect you as a core component in this community. In my opinion, you’ve done more good for this community than almost anyone else. But, as you mentioned, this has been lost. Your passion isn’t showing up anymore, your love for this community has dried out, and I can’t see your content in the same light anymore. I can’t enjoy your content because it’s lost what I loved about it in the first place. So, I’ll be here continuing to watch daily and occasionally commenting while I wait for you to improve yourself. There’s a quote I’d like to share that I try to live by because I think it’s the best way to live. “I think life is here for us to become kinder. I live each day hoping I was a slightly kinder person than I was the day before.” Good luck Woohoojin, just focus on being a little better each day. The first step is acknowledging the problem, so you’re already well on your way. I’ll be rooting for you.
Not going to lie, even before the witch hunt, I started feeling off about watching your streams. (Long text post below) I enjoyed the content you made because you brought forth an energy that felt much more ‘wholesome’ and analytical. I’ve watched many, MANY, Valorant streamers and videos, and within that you stood out to me as the content I wanted to see. You were guiding your students and viewers towards both game awareness and emotional awareness, and as someone who suffers from anxiety and negative self talk, it was nice to tune in to your content because you had an attitude that opposed what my own voice was telling me. I’d listen to your streams like one would a podcast, and it made me feel better. It got me through the worst days. But then you started contradicting yourself. You started to yell at your teammates, belittle your viewers, and the videos you made started to carry a new attitude. Blame this, flame that, with an ego that stuck out and tasted foul. It felt off, and I really wanted to stick around and enjoy your content, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. “Maybe if I join the discord it’ll feel different”, I thought, but it didn’t help. So, I walked away, and completely missed when all the information came to light. I’m glad, in a way, that I wasn’t there to be swept up in the witch hunt. No one deserves to be shoved in the spotlight and belittled. Cancel culture is poison, and I hope you’re doing alright now. I’m relieved you’ve done the introspection and understood your mistakes. In a way, it’ll make your climb to Radiant even more of an accomplishment. This time, you’re getting there on your own, despite everything, and that’s something to truly be proud of. I’m ready to catch up on the content I missed while I was away. Keep being the best person you can be, banana man.
Content creation can sour the mind. I haven’t been around the whole time, or all the time, but as a creator, I definitely feel the pressure of change both internally and as a community. Lead with good intent and kindness and all will fall in line!
That's honestly such impressive self growth. I wish all the youtubers who fucked up in some way did what you just did. Fingers crossed you keep your word and keep getting better. Not for us but for yourself. We're glad to have you back.
im so proud of you hooj, been watching you for a longlong time and really happy to see you refinding yourself! dont worry about credentials you know those will come with time, and this was the first step to a clear radiant mind! Love you bro!
It's very strange to hear a Valorant creator (of all people) make such a heartfelt video that directly and explicitly addresses a lot of issues that I had with them and their content. As much as I liked Woohoojin the coach who was so frequently correct, I *hated* Woohoojin the coper/egoist/aggressive jerk. That said, I really, **really** appreciate Woohoojin the self-aware, self-critical person who wants to improve, and the reflection makes me feel better about supporting you. +Respect. Also, yay for more community stuff. I'm pump!
Kudos, I've rarely heard a more mature, thoughtful apology than this one. If you really go through with this as promised, then this incident was ultimately a good thing. We all make mistakes, every day. The important thing is to learn from it. I wish you only the best on your journey.
I've been watching you and applying some of the tips you've given in some of your different videos (whether they're vod reviews or guides) and have been keeping up with your Raze to radiant series. I knew about the whole "you not actually getting radiant legitimately" dramma but I knew you would probably take responsibility for it or handle it more maturely than some other creators would have. However I didn't know about your full mental state and how it was affecting you. I will still continue to watch and support you.
As mature as this response is, it just sounds like you punishing yourself to a degree that doesn't sound sustainable. You may do this as a way of genuinely asking for forgiveness, but does it sound like fun for you? Maybe. It just doesn't sound healthy in the long term.
you helped me and many others get better at the game, and now that your being honest, i feel happier and it dont matter even if anyone doesnt support you because im still one of your students who got better because of you and believe that your great and amazing at teaching so ill support you always :3
this may just be the best apology video ive ever seen man, we still love you hooj!!!, your actual rank may not be radiant, but your game sense and you yourself is definetly radiant
Hello friend, I hope you're good. I am so grateful that I can be a part of your wonderful community and that me, alongside all of your supporters are helping you achieve your dreams. I read your announcement and I want to tell you that I am one of those guys that stays on your stream 24/7 rooting for you, and we don't think you are a "toxic coping shithead who lacks patience" as you said, otherwise we wouldn't stay on your stream. Rather, we stay on your stream and we support you because we love you, we really do brother. We could see that you were not okay and that you were going through some pain and that is why we stayed; to share our love with the amazing person you are. Don't say sorry you didn't give us proper attention, your way of being IS how you give us your attention. It is not your fault you are feeling this way. It is a consequence for being nice and gentle as you have been for a long time ❤ . I truly wish you all the best, my friend. If you need something just reach out to me or to anyone who supports you. Much love!
An apology doesn't undo the bad, people should wait with showing forgiveness until you actually do change. Saying "I hate myself" multiple times in a public video as a guilt trip, is not a moral way to try to get empathy from your viewers. I am not trying to be unnecessarily negative, but that's what I was thinking. Feel free to try to change my mind, I really don't know the guy and was just bored.
Bro if you were bored feel free to not voice your opinion, yknow? (I understand the irony of me commenting to you, dw lol) Why be negative when you can choose to be neither? As someone who is rooting for him, it's not the "I hate myself" bit that got me. I'm a very logical person, which is exactly why I believe in second chances and understand that the universe is self-correcting. Hence I am forgiving, so long as the awareness of you making a mistake is present.
@@mihirx27 "Why be negative when you can choose to be neither?" I felt the need to express my shock. I didn't understand why people just moved on so easily. An apology is just the beginning of fixing something, so I would expect more "Good luck"s than "Congrats"s. I was hoping someone else could back me up, or change my mind. I am not saying his words are meaningless, I am not saying he's lying, I just wanted to emphasize that there is still a lot to do, and people shouldn't consider the problem solved for the time being.
@@gimbus_michas Fair. I feel your take is perfectly valid. I am a firm believer in steps taken _after_ the first step, i:e the plan of action, but often the western world looks to congratulate people for doing the _first_ step to improvement, i:e recognition of the problem. (Anecdotal btw, no stats) So I can see why you'd think that.
@@mihirx27 i fully understand your take and agree to some part but i feel like its also hard to judge from someone like you, who doesnt know the guy and isnt familiar with what he has done or is doing
I love this apology, I actually didn't mind the scandal of not being a real radiant you still have the mindset of one and have genuinely good advice, I was hardstuck gold before I started watching you and now I'm diamond 1 ever since I watched a shit ton of vod reviews. You've helped me improve and I hope that you can improve yourself.
I literally thought I was crazy by typing the words "Is woohoojin an asshole reddit" and find like hardly anything describing how I felt. I never wanted to get VOD reviews because I always felt like I wasn't good or prepared enough; like I didn't know this 24th bind lineup or made a mistake on round 15 and didn't want to get berated. I'm an ascendant 1 gamer and I think I'm gonna try to submit a VOD.
Changing and accepting ur mistakes is evolving. U can make other people take u as an example and u decided to do it right. Congrats man, mental health isnt easy
Omg i am POGGING. I was hoping for a realization like this because i also saw you lose your way. Very excited for me to get my follow up vod with me on reyna
This amazing dude. Everyone goes through their own struggles in life and I don’t want to spill all of my personal information in your comment section but I feel like I’m going through something similar. It is incredible that you were able to own up to your mistakes and I know that you can make it through this. We love you brother
You’re absolutely right about things occurring so often that you end up losing patience when it happens the 100th time, it comes with the job unfortunately and so that’s understandable. You’ve been helping so much of the community through this repetition that would drive some crazy but you come through on top even after pushing the limit and doing it live. You’re irreplaceable honestly
dude this is awesome, way to go big banana. ive followed ur coaching since starting playing valo comp 7 months ago, and its gotten me to immortal! a shift towards mindfulness, gratitude, and positivity seems like an excellent change.
Great going man, accepting you were wrong is the first and hardest step, its all easier from here and rank doesn't matter you will always be the best coach :) i really got from s3 to plat1 watching ur videos
The "I hate myself" part was a bit weird and almost felt like manipulation and guilt tripping of the audience. Especially considering you had a script and that was something you chose to put in. Choosing to put music over it was a little odd aswell. Other than that, the other parts were a good reflection. Some of the things you apologized for were things that never even had to be brought up, so good on you for owning up to it on your own accord.
Legit just commented the music thing is like it's meant to distract you from the actual point specially when the piano goes for "the two of us" song and you singing it in your head, if this ws really that serious you wouldn't put it, idk, I believe he is sorry but very shady.
@@naitsirhcvh I think the music was simpy him going back to his inspiration for how he wanted too teach. He said he wanted to be like Mr. Rogers and the music was supposed to create the same atmosphere as Mr Rogers' music he had in his show. I believe its an attempt by him to go back to what he wanted his stream/channel to feel/look like, and that it was a small step in the right direction. Also without the music in the background it would have had this weird, awkward video, although it didn't have to be as loud as it was.
he helps the community grow and become better at the game that they love, FOR FREE, and still feels the need to apologize to them. hats off to this guy
Apologizing after being exposed is nothing to praise him for, he just did not have any other choice. He just lied to people and kept lying until he couldn't hide it anymore.
This is one of the best apology videos I've seen. I wish you the best of luck in your content moving forward, and I'll be watching to see how things change. Please keep putting out guides and void reviews too! I appreciate them as well.
Started watching you about a year ago, and it has been a joy to watch your videos and guides. I may be still hard stuck iron and don’t really plan on getting out anytime soon, but seeing your explanations as well as a focus on not only making people better players but better people as well has really helped to see the game in a new light. I feel like you have had a very positive influence over people in the community even if you feel you’ve lost your way, and just like how early woohoojin would pick people up when they were down it is now our turn. I really hope you take the time to focus on your mental health, and hope you keep up the good work. I feel the Valorant community would be a little less joyous without the banana man.
Its really beautiful how you taking all this and am not joking you are the reason I loved the game and Improved at it too so keep it up coach you got this
Despite everything man, you understand the game on a fundamental level well into a radiant mindset. Whether for better or worse you have helped a lot of people on their gameplay including myself. Even when I believed I mastered everything there was something I got out of your videos
...he's gonna apologize after the fact, because the hate showed him that something is wrong in the first place? Like what are you even mad about here? At this point you're just trying to find anything to hate him for. And you chose to hate him for actually admitting his mistakes and trying to improve. Like, really?💀
I'm incredibly proud of you doing this Bananaman, recognising mistakes you've been making to your community and wanting so badly to improve on them is amazing. I'm glad you're putting your mental health first more now because you very much deserve that. You're a good coach and one hell of an entertainer so I continue to look forward to your future content. You WILL become the best Banana you can be because Bananas are op!!! You've got this Hooj
👏It really sounds like you've looked inward and being able to admit your faults and how you dislike what you've become is amazing, and I'm really happy you're able to be a role model and example in being that kind of person who can say "i can change and I can do better". I had high respect for you in your earlier days, and it was lost since everything that's happened recently, but my respect for you is even higher now after seeing you admitting to everything and trying to do better. I hope you can achieve what you've set out to do and keep aligned to your vision
Your second point about losing patience is completely valid. Just speaking from experience, it happens with any customer service job. Like I work at an office supply retailer and every day I have customers looking for ink and they come to me and say "what ink do I need for model xyz printer?" It's still crazy to me that they don't think to Google it themselves, or check beforehand. But it simply is what it is, and i have to provide friendly and positive service every time

He still helped 1000s of people climb on their own."
But I had noticed I had been less inclined to tune into streams or watch every video. I think this video highlights the issue for me. I didn't like the way he coached any more. It was more "Why haven't you watched this video?" or "You could have found this out yourself." etc.

"Just put the detail in the report"
"Just be confident"
"Just read the policy again, it's straight forward and obvious"
These are the things I've caught myself saying and, like you, made me feel like I've become bitter towards the very people im supposed to be trying to help.
The first step to fixing it is acknowledging it. Good on you.

Wow, I cried a little on the "I hate myself" moment, because it resonated with me so well. Woohoojin, you can get through this.
We love you woohoojin! I - and the rest of us - hope that you can get through this tough time and we will always be here to support you!
It's okay Woohoojin.
Not everyone may feel the same, but i still respect and admire you.
My favorite Banana Man!
You're a good guy Woohoojin, it takes a mature person to realize when they've gone wrong and openly admit that they need to change.
Thats my GOAT, big respect for you man 🙏
I think subconsciously I may have noticed this, which might be the reason I’ve been watching less and less of each video.
(Long text post below)
I enjoyed the content you made because you brought forth an energy that felt much more ‘wholesome’ and analytical.
It's okay Woohoojin, we still love you.
you helped me and many others get better at the game, and now that your being honest, i feel happier and it dont matter even if anyone doesnt support you because im still one of your students who got better because of you and believe that your great and amazing at teaching so ill support you always :3
this may just be the best apology video ive ever seen man, we still love you hooj!!!, your actual rank may not be radiant, but your game sense and you yourself is definetly radiant
(I understand the irony of me commenting to you, dw lol)
Why be negative when you can choose to be neither?
(Anecdotal btw, no stats)
So I can see why you'd think that.
@@mihirx27 i fully understand your take and agree to some part but i feel like its also hard to judge from someone like you, who doesnt know the guy and isnt familiar with what he has done or is doing
Very valid response.
I love this apology, I actually didn't mind the scandal of not being a real radiant you still have the mindset of one and have genuinely good advice, I was hardstuck gold before I started watching you and now I'm diamond 1 ever since I watched a shit ton of vod reviews. You've helped me improve and I hope that you can improve yourself.
this means a ton. best of luck on this journey, hopefully this is a huge turning point
5 views in 10 seconds?
Damn thats.....
pretty reasonable actually
You've fostered a great community that you'll be remembered for and the relationships made will far outlive your online content, don't forget that
Changing and accepting ur mistakes is evolving. U can make other people take u as an example and u decided to do it right. Congrats man, mental health isnt easy
are you going to ban yourself from your server because you were boosted? (and admited to it)
That is a non-question and you know it.
only based comment here
Omg i am POGGING.
You’re irreplaceable honestly
love you banana man
ur community used to be a chill safe space and now its became a super passive agressive place to people that arent “well known”
The person I subscribed to is slowly coming back.
I hope to see myself back in your content and enjoying it again.
Love ya, Hooj.
dude this is awesome, way to go big banana. ive followed ur coaching since starting playing valo comp 7 months ago, and its gotten me to immortal! a shift towards mindfulness, gratitude, and positivity seems like an excellent change.
Great going man, accepting you were wrong is the first and hardest step, its all easier from here and rank doesn't matter you will always be the best coach :)
i really got from s3 to plat1 watching ur videos
The "I hate myself" part was a bit weird and almost felt like manipulation and guilt tripping of the audience. Especially considering you had a script and that was something you chose to put in. Choosing to put music over it was a little odd aswell. Other than that, the other parts were a good reflection. Some of the things you apologized for were things that never even had to be brought up, so good on you for owning up to it on your own accord.
Agreed.
We back today with more ranked right???
he is back on monday
Hooj Don't forget that u helped and coached a lot of us i hit silver 3 after being iron 3 for 2 years because of u thank u for helping me ❤️
he helps the community grow and become better at the game that they love, FOR FREE, and still feels the need to apologize to them. hats off to this guy
Apologizing after being exposed is nothing to praise him for, he just did not have any other choice. He just lied to people and kept lying until he couldn't hide it anymore.
facts
I mean, you can always drop this criticism, what makes it true or not is how he changes in the next few months, we'll have to see
apology video that is an ad for more content
I feel the Valorant community would be a little less joyous without the banana man.
feels very manipulative with the sad background music LMAO
Bro is the perfect human being
Its really beautiful how you taking all this and am not joking you are the reason I loved the game and Improved at it too so keep it up coach you got this
Despite everything man, you understand the game on a fundamental level well into a radiant mindset. Whether for better or worse you have helped a lot of people on their gameplay including myself. Even when I believed I mastered everything there was something I got out of your videos
might’ve taken it a bit more seriously if you didn't add a bit of guilt trip and trying to pull at people's heartstrings to garner empathy.
the fact that u only came out with this apology because of the hate it crazy lmaoo. next time don't lie to viewers. your ego is crazy
womp womp
@@wambIy ...
...he's gonna apologize after the fact, because the hate showed him that something is wrong in the first place? Like what are you even mad about here? At this point you're just trying to find anything to hate him for. And you chose to hate him for actually admitting his mistakes and trying to improve. Like, really?💀
@Veasher didn't admit shit until pepole had to CALL him out 😂 even after there were accusations not as popular he denied them 💀

You will always be the GOAT watching your videos helped a lot
Your second point about losing patience is completely valid. Just speaking from experience, it happens with any customer service job. Like I work at an office supply retailer and every day I have customers looking for ink and they come to me and say "what ink do I need for model xyz printer?" It's still crazy to me that they don't think to Google it themselves, or check beforehand. But it simply is what it is, and i have to provide friendly and positive service every time
