I just remember when we are living in our village, it is easy living there than living in the cities. You can eat 3 times a day without buying food. You just go to your garden and harvest fruit and vegestable there. Soon I will go back there and live with my 👪. Thanks Sir Jon for sharing your thoughts here on yt. You inspire me alot to go self sufficient lifestyle. God bless you more. Love from Philippines 🇵🇭.
Thank you. We moved back to village 3 years ago. Your TedTalk Life is Easy, give me inspiration. And we are more happy now. We will try to plant more and give more
@H DB Oh .. how tragic .. that we are led to a new form of education .. away from the country to the city .. where people forget how to grow gardens .. basic economy and real wealth. The city life is built on a debt based system. If you graduate from school as a Doctor or Nurse .. you need to charge enough to pay off your loans .. which means that those you treat .. will need to be in debt to the system. The child going to school .. to become a doctor or nurse .. will still need to eat food .. which they will go to the market to purchase. They go into the market and purchase sweet potatoes .. but do not learn to grow them .. and pretty soon the knowledge is lost. Every child graduating from High School should have experience growing a food garden.
@H DB maybe you have to change your currency. And thinking. I don't know what fiat currency is. Did you think I would? Can you eat it? If you have land, then get on it and plant seeds and make a temporary structure and live in it. Watch Jon's video on education. Or give the land to someone who will do something fantastic with it.
@H DB just for the record, I went to university, had a 'good education'. I now live in a teeny tiny house in the mountains doing everything I love. That's the key. Do what you love doing. And that goes for your children too. University degrees don't mean anything and the debt is massive. I think you'll be better off back on your land in that mud house. You children will learn far more than you can imagine.
Rent some land if you can. Lots of people who have land might be up for renting and you could build a 'temporary' structure to live in. Just start something towards this goal and it will happen. Look into 'work away' options.
I am with you Sir Jon, uncertainty is just in the corner and soon be knocking on our doors, I don’t know if we deserve mercy for all the exploits and abuses we been doing to Mother Nature
There is a big difference in Europe and the US, we have developed individualism, with both good and bad results....we have largely lost the functional extended family and the tribe (which consciousness has been co-opted by the marketeers)....in Asia people still have dominant family/tribal consciousness, so it is easier to create functional, self reliant communities....also in "poorer" countries, people are already living closer to the land and are more sanguine about the wheel of life and death....they are able to adapt more easily to higher levels of self sufficiency....in the rich nations most essential functions have been outsourced to the corporations and the corporate state...we are like helpless sheep in the face of massive change in our environment and despite all the apparent wealth and sophistication, we are in a much less able state than peasant farmers in the east.....
I don't know which country you're form. Perhaps it's possible to move to smaller city as well. I'm form the Netherlands. In the city it's none possibilities, but outside the city they also have a community.
@@ebab4839 Yes, there are some intentional communities in the west, but generally we will have a tougher time adapting and are more likely to succumb to the tyranny as our ability to take care of ourselves in basic ways and the mindset to go with it, is very underdeveloped....
@Chris C I think we need to find a way forward where we are sovereign beings able to act collectively when we freely agree that such actions are for the best. We can't function as separate entities, so we need to evolve to the place where our collective sphere is a consciously chosen one....otherwise we either have the worst aspects of communism or the worst aspects of crony capitalism or a combination of both....
@Chris C I think we are at a point in human history where we either evolve or become enslaved cyborgs...it's not an easy process which ever way it goes...
When we are born with a right to life things may change we either need land to provide for ourselves or if the system takes that ability away it should compensate for that, but as we all know things are not this way and we are expendable assets. In today's world think its a parents responsibility to ensure land for their kids etc... the lack of responsibility in bringing life into the world today is a shame, I will not bring kids to this world as much as I would love to as they would be born as financial slaves in a lottery for life with very low odds.
Thank you Mr. Jandai for speaking up in these times. I see and feel your effort to share knowledge and positivity, becuase you are aware of all the possible effects of the crisis, and you see that humanity has lost the old good knowledge and spirit. It is very important to leave aside the negative thoughts and fear, we need only to focus on knowledge and work what must be done, like you do. Thank you, and I wish you much-much happiness!:)
Watching this in 2023 when things like the economy seem to get back to mostly "normal"...but wish to glean lessons from the past 3 years to prepare for the next pandemic, climate change, "famine" and economic crisis...
Barter system is best......... Today's company system is worse to humans..... Family system..... Barter system..... Traditional work system...... Are best in my knowledge....
We are living lies right from religion, who we are , formal education , human nature and others . Most of the things are lies Am buying own land to grow my own food and medicine
The root cause of all the problems is the increase of governmental power. With such increase, people's liberty decreases while fear increases. Limited government or minarchy is the way to fix the problems. Laozi taught "actionless governance". Governments must exist, but their purpose is to protect people from aggression, theft, breach of contract and fraud. Governments start to lose their prestige when they enforce trivial matters, such as wearing a mask, a helmet, a condom, a head scarf etc.

When Jon Jandai talk, i will listen..
Same here...
Well said Jon Jandai.. Nobody is going to come to solve the problem. Someone who comes to solve our problem will think how to take more money from us.
I am with you Sir Jon, uncertainty is just in the corner and soon be knocking on our doors, I don’t know if we deserve mercy for all the exploits and abuses we been doing to Mother Nature

Thank you so much jon🙏
You are beyond wisdom🙏
I'm too thanks that you shearing great idea and mapping to people and me too.
I think it is back to basics. We cannot rely on the money system, making a homestead is the best thing that I have done to prepare for the future.

So much agreement with jon in comment section but how many of you actually quit university, quit high paying jobs and leave the city? 😅
