- Mark Gatiss looks back at "The Omen" and talks with screenwriter David Seltzer and actor David Warner in "The American Scream," the third installment of a 2010 BBC documentary, "A History of Horror."
David Warner is one of the most underrated actor. He has done many films, animated. Etc. He has such an iconic voice.
He's truly an iconic legend, and I love him dearly💖
@@skywardswag2012 I've been smitten with him for years and it sucks he isn't more well known.
He is probably as underrated as they come! He more than holds his own in his numerous scenes with Gregory Peck.
He was also great in 'Cross of Iron'.
He wasn't a total loser. He won an Emmy for something, some WW 1 anti-war monolog. He had a supporting role in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles bulldust.
"I lost it in the divorce!" Such dry wit!
The amount of love I have for David Warner physically hurts me lol we don't deserve him💕💕
Why it physically hurts you???
Damien's grin at the end - along with Norman's at the end of Psycho - are the most chilling things i've seen in a film.
53 years old & those scenes still make me shiver & cry !
It must have been hard for Gregory Peck on that chair in 1975 talking about the omen, because his son had just committed suicide in real life.
Yeah, I've heard it was!
It must have been very hard for him
I caught a comment on a RUclips upload to do with The Omen, probably an excerpted scene, from years ago, with someone who said that he was there during the filming and he stated that they used helicopters to generate the winds as the priest was running through the park. They go the extra yards in the production because they decided that they specifically needed storm conditions to go with the overcast weather, in order to correctly nail the scene.
Gregory's reaction at 4:20 is like that of a parent facing some stiff criticism of their child at a parents-teacher meeting :-o
The glass was horizontal because when they tried to do it vertically in tests the glass would only drop like a leaf. You couldn't rely on the way it would fall. The FX guys suggested they could do it horizontally and Donner agreed. The scene was then changed to what we have now.
I love the bit at the end where David Seltzer is rubbing his leg vigourously while denying the existence of the devil
Mark Gatiss should do a show based on The Omen :)
Absolutely!!
There are two TV series of The Omen there's "The Omen" (TV Series From 1995) And "Damien" (TV Series) i don't know the year from the last one
@@IR0902 noth of them were well made. Damien was good but it started too slow to keep the ratings high enough for it to continue.
@@olympicslondon2012 i didn't like Damien too that serie was a little boring but the references to the first movie were a boom and I didn't saw the TV Series from 1995 but i saw the pilot and it's a little boring i don't see deaths and in imbd there's a movie that is unreleased and it's called "The First Omen" and it's an Omen Movie too but it's not released so maybe it is Omen V? Or a remake to Omen IV? Maybe it will release in the future because it still not releasing
@@IR0902 perhaps it's the omen prequel the conjuring creators have been teasing about since 2016! I'm very much interested in that. No idea when it will be made.
Yep enjoyed this movie immensely much more scarier and bone chilling than The Exorcist
The original Oman is my favourite horror film. Perfect film IMO, especially with that incredible music 👏👏Aren’t we seeing The Oman working now. It certainly feels like the devil has taken over the world 🥺
Classic horror movie (up there with The Exorcist).
Disgraceful! Not one solitary mention of Billie Whitelaw....one of the best actors in the film.
So beautiful she was
@@melgrant7404 Agreed
No-one else could have played Mrs Baylock Mia farrow in the rubbish remake was a joke
I agree she was a fantastic actor.
She sure was. Fantastic actress.
top tier horror
Would've been cool to see a version of The Omen made from the Soviet perspective.
can you sign my bentley please David Seltzer
7:38 🤣😄
Revelation 13:18 states that if one is wise and has an understanding to count the number of the beast, which is also the number of a man (imitating Son of man, Jesus Christ), the number comes to 666.
They broke the code. Apparently, 666 meant Nero all along.
The Omen movie is really that much curse......?Then nothing happened to the persons who watched that Film....if it is really cursed means there should be any event regarding the person who experienced bad things after watching this film.......... these interviews given by directors are just for film advertisement only... not true
I've always suspected David Seltzer as the person who raped Corey Haim on the set of his movie Lucas. Other good examples of *Pedophiles* who have directed legendary Horror movies are Roman Polanski and Victor Salva.
Why?
Anybody referring to Charkes Bronson as a B Lister and a joke is not to be taken seriously....
Besides, who told these Four by Two's that they could have such fun with Christian dogma?
I never liked that Gregory Peck. The fore runner of the smart, smarmy, liberty-taking hollywood asshole weve got so many of today.
Sangris binimous corpus Anmous ave corpus
It's "Sanguis Bibimus Corpus Edimus, Tolle Corpus Satani"
I don’t view The Omen as a horror movie at all.
We always believe that evil, devil and Satan is are remain with all the people to according islam religion. Allah only save us.
