@@TTTEoliverFan Thats a copyright/First year manufactured date. The actual age of the train is on the white square sticker on the inside. For instance: D8 = April 1998 C06 = March 2006 Later HIT toys had a different coding system, same with Fisher price and beyond.
@@Kublai1969 yes that’s true, Like with Douglas he was first released in 1998, but he was also rereleased in 2005 so the plastic is from 2005 and the first ever release year 1998, so technically we are both right 👍

Also if the coupling cylinders are broken, place a screw to replace it
Try giving engines a spark (a certain voltage while their drive units turned on) if they don't run their dead, if they do, its good! :)

That likely is all they will need, but since I'm taking them apart anyway Ill just rectify the problem then.

I was reading from the date code on the inside of the boiler/body.
