You did not bring up the Kobe's. Dude when you have the drop in midsoles they are the "torsional plate" in that you can't bend the shoe when they're dropped in there.
if you do the nike id or nike by you you can make the sole to be xdr outdoor rubber which makes the rubber more durable. therefore you can use it outdoors

I had an xdr Kyrie 4 and you could definitely tell a difference compared to the non-xdr shoe at the time. I wouldn’t say xdr is a gimmick, but idk if it’s changed over the past couple years
I had kyrie low 2s that had xdr tag on it, and i can say that it only last 3 months, there is a tearing in the forefoot area but still in the other area, it is stiff, but still i guess it is a gimmick
