Hey Lauren...I'm happy to say that you are " Stuck in the middle with all of us"
I think you'll be stuck with us for a very long time. Once again the " Prof" has pulled it off. Thank you so very much for your patience in the tutorials that you do for us. I'm on Worship Team tomorrow (Sunday) in the Baptist Church here in Phalaborwa my home town.
Love and blessings from Kruger Park in South Africa.🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
We're all stuck in the middle with the guitar. 🤣
Hi Lauren, have you ever listened to the music og Gretchen Peters? Try and find her song called "5 minutes" I believe you would really enjoy and appreciate the song.
Be safe my sister. Love and blessings from your buddy in the Kruger Park in South Africa.🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
G7 Second chord, Greetings from Scotland

Great video ! If I can complete your crash course I will be getting your full course !
Awesome! You got this.
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome lesson! Thanks so much!🙏🎸
You're welcome so much.
Lauren it would help me alot to have more close ups of your fretting hand and where your fingers are at
Hi Cynthia, we do mix in close-ups from time to time. I assume that you know the chords to the song. Why I always go over the chords first. This lesson is really more about the strumming. Is it the strumming hand you need the close-up of? Usually fingerpicking lessons we do lots of close ups
Awesome strumming pattern, thanks for explaining it in detail. We enjoy your tutorials. 🎶🎸
You're so welcome!
Hey Lauren, Saludos de Chile.
Another great class. I already knew "Stuck in the Middle", but you always make me take home something new.
I hadn't realized that the chord progression is practically a 12 bar blues, except for the short 2 beats on the fifth chord G in the tenth bar, (It's usually a complete 4 beats)
Knowing this allows me to appreciate how these songwriters take that basic chord progression and beat, and create such a wide range of songs that don't necessarily sound like a typical blues.
Loved the application for "Proud Mary". I'm going to try it out now.
Great class.
Proud Mary is such a good one. That's what music is all about. Connecting it to other things. Learn something in one son. Apple it to many.
@@LaurenBateman I love you, Lauren, but you got some serious autocorrect problems. 🥰😂🤣
Thank You for mentioning Proud Mary as part of this lesson. Now there's 2 songs I like that I can learn almost simultaneously.
Yes!!!!
excellent. very clear and concise explanation. Great lesson 👍
Thank you!
I can’t tell you enough how much I love your lessons!
Aww Tim thanks!!

Wow I glad I found your channel, you are such a great teacher and your playing is just beautiful ❤
Aww thank you and welcome to the channel!
Nice lesson! It blew my mind the day i realised this was sung by Gerry Rafferty, really enjoy Right Down The Line and many others by him. Thanks for this :)
You're so welcome
Nice. I also love that you are grooving to a song way before your time on this planet. Very cool and thanks.
Aww. I love music from the 60s and 70s
@@LaurenBateman That's my Jam. Let's do this one- Bill Withers, Use Me
Thank you so much for teaching 🙏🙏I learned lot.
You're welcome
Ha haa haaa @ 7:05 Don’t forget to strum 😎 breathe 🧘♀️
Stuck with my 🎸 & your tutorial
Ha ha. Have fun Tom.
Again a happy feel Good song,👌❌❌❌
Yes!
Fun song & video. Thanks
You're so welcome!
This is great 👍 My new guitar thanks you for some easy fun 😀 I also got some thin (0.38mm) plectrums today which I find easier and more forgiving for beginner strumming 👍👍
That's awesome? Have fun 😊
You make it too easy..2 songs 4 the price off 1 Proud Mary..Ur the best thks!
Ha ha thanks
Love this strum. I will try it on my Martin. Lauren, it would be cool to compare the sound with your new Taylor.
Sounds good!
Just found your videos. They are fantastic. I love how you reach and simplify song. Would you consider doing Sheryl crow. Everyday is a winding road. Greatly appreciate it. There are not many is any lessons on this song. Thank you.
Love Sheryl! Definitely need to do some of her songs.
LB , you’re up early! You ,of all things guitar, ever use a drum pedal? I was looking at some as a sub for a metronome. Re the Wheel , they didn’t last long as they had “internal issues” , but Netflix has resuscitated them ? Thanks for this as always.
Please give us the name of the Netflix documentary on Steel wheels.. thanks
@@tcb5141 Hi- Netflix used this song for the theme song for Grace and Frankie series ( Jane Fonda st al). That group didn't last long enough for a documentary ! But, unlike Milli Vanilli, they were a real group. Sorry for the confusion.
I do have a BOSS loop pedal that has drum effects on it. I don't use it that much anymore.
@@tcb5141 Gerry Rafferty -right down the line documentary . Its on you tube.
Lauren can you please do a tutorial for Hang on Sloopy by the McCoy's? That would be great thanks
Ooooo great song
My two favorite Batemen.
1 Lauren Bateman.
2 Patrick Bateman.
Oooo who is Patrick Bateman. I know Jason and Justine.
@@LaurenBateman Patrick Bateman from American psycho.
At position 6:00, the video shows a D in the upper corner, but it looks like you’re playing the A chord.
Oh man. You're right. We must have missed this in editing even though I probably watched it two or three times. All I can do once it's on RUclips is blur out the cord but at least it won't be confusing.
🤩😍🥰
😎
Hi Lauren i am a beginner you have helped me a lot I have one question for you so when you are playing the d g or c chord do you have upstrum 4 strings or 5 or can you play them all cause it has been really hard for me thanks
You don't have to up strum all the strings. It is very hard to do that.
🎸🙋💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🎶🎵🎸
😎
👍👍✌️🇨🇦✌️🇨🇦✌️
Hello 👋
Nice Jammer - Sadly a bruised heel on the strummer hand. hmm. maybe in a couple weeks.
Ouch! Feel better Jack
Do you only do acoustic guitar.?
I play electric but mainly do acoustic here on RUclips
Is your course good for electric guitar, too.?
I'm totally new and I have just been trying to play scales and such.
My biggest problem/concern is picking the right string and making sure my fingers are on the right string and fret.
It gets kinda frustrating. (And I'm 64.)
Oh yeh, I like your teaching style and that's why I'm asking these questions.
Why is she playing g instead of g7 ? Likewise the a chord should be an a7....
Because I'm playing a G instead of a G7 and it works great! Isn't music so much fun. You don't have to be perfect to have fun!
