I won't lie, dude, your grasp of this game is far deeper than pretty much sny other RUclips or streamer I have watched. In fact, there seem to be two kinds of people: Those who see the in-depth interaction who are wanting to dive deep into the systems and mecha ics, and therefore appreciate it's depth Then there are people who plays for an hour or two, never dive into learning to play, then immediately call it trash. I am pretty sure they are trying to apply their Civ knowledge to this game, and when they fail, blame it in the game. Clearly, you see the first type. Your brain is like my brother's. The data you can gather, assimilate, and store is truly magnificent. Like him, you research deeply, teach yourself and then create a plan that is very deep, requiring a ton of brain work around memory and keeping track of all of the details of your (huge) plan. And it is natural for you. I first saw it in Manor Lords, now this game. You are unique in your approach and skills. I tell you this not to blow smoke up your ass, but to let you know what else is out there, the other content providers. They don't understand it, and I mean, wow, they are way off, then feed their viewers false narratives and angry viewpoints...all because they don't, "get it." From my perspective, and i am sure there are others I haven't found, but you are the standard bearer for this game right now. I know you want lots of adjustments and such, and I agree. But yeah, we need people who love the game to watch you. You lay it down cold and drive it home hard...lol
Thank you, appreciate the compliment. Funny enough civ Iv I think preps you for this game but understanding optimization for sure is key to appreciating what this game does well. The more I dive into this game the more I realize how much significant optimization can come from certain wonders, setups. The game has a ton of detail that can be combined to achieve godly results
@TacticatGaming Yes, and it really isn't seen by many because they feel they already know, and when playing the game they perceive their experience as supporting their inaccurate assumptions. We all do it, including me. But this whole situation reminds me of the game that finally shook me awake: Old Wolrd. I instantly loved that game, but I finally came to accept that I was just plain bad at it. *same with Total war Pharoah Dynasties, had to learn diplomacy was key) So, I started a new game and spent time looking at every single nested tool tip, following each one into the others contained within the first tool tip. It took forever but I just kept reminding myself I truly know nothing and need to look it up. And wow, that game is massively different from Civ in how you manage the systems and mechanisms. And yes, it was my brother who told me to do it that way. Told me I was probably assuming too much past knowledge as accurate, so just stop that and rebuild from the very first tiny block of knowledge after a knowledge wipe. Natural for him and I think, you. The rest of us have to be prompted our outright told to do it lol. And ya, many, many RUclips people playing Old World had the same assumptions I did and never checked them. And once I had the knowledge, I couldn't unknow it. Very frustrating to watch. Anyway, great stuff, keep it up!
After days of watching parts of this video, I am finally finished. Congrats on the landslide victory. Wow, I'm surprised you didn't get further involved in conflicts, given how tedious this run was. It's just kind of a clickathon/slideshow for you at Act 3. I'm also disappointed that you cannot continue your game, or have any other kind of initial game settings to add further spawns of enemies or tribes that keep you on your toes. This game's mechanics look like a mix of Civilization's leader roles & diplomatic engagement, Crusader Kings III's building management of holdings, and Victoria 3's building & goods management system for demand, but still have unique points of gameplay that are interesting. Your guide definitely helped me understand how much this game can offer on the 'homefront' when you don't involve yourself heavily outside your borders, and the mechanics of trying to keep your growth and other stats up with amenities or accelerants. I would probably rename regions with something akin to numbers of yields in it so that menu scrolling would be easier. ("F4/T3/M1/G0" or "4/3/1/0", tacked onto the name maybe, also including resource names like Coffee, and regions you specifically want to use for Wonders, etc) I suppose when I get this game eventually, I will have to run it on one of, if not the highest difficulty and engage in the various types of war to get the most out of the game experience. Thanks for the playthrough!
For the amenity at the start I found that this is the best recourse: If you see a hunt that requires 2 hunts, e.g., bear or lynx, use your starting scout to hunt it as your first action. These hunts ALWAYS reward you with a feast. This way you will be guaranteed a feast amenity by turn 3. If you do not have one on a region adjacent there will be one nearby regardless so you will in most cases be guaranteed a feast amenity from a hunt before you can produce one (about turn 5-6). Set the production bonus on feast to be on food (a cost of -2 which is practically free) and click on the infinite production of them, with that you will be producing a feast every 10 turns at a minimum, enough to sustain the amenity. If you hover your mouse over the box icon in the top right you will see your resources with the production/consumption, and each city will consume 0.1 feasts so all you have to have is enough production of feast to match that in the beginning of the game. Secondly, the resources that scouts can grab via exploration are incredibly powerful. They come in 3 flavours: barrels (normal resources like timber, food, or wealth), packs (can contain tools, like wheels or lithic tools), and pots (can contain special resources like wine). If for example you can get a wheel and wine you can set them in your hearth for +50% production and +10 happiness, which is obviously incredibly powerful. As such I found that getting 3 scouts ASAP to be more efficient than anything else.
It seems that you have a brain that dissects and transmutes things, in a quick fashion. Accompanied by a great ability to relate what you have learned. If there ever is a real war, I shall request your services as a tactician.
The Mastering Ara history untold Inca empire cinematic universe But fr this helped me pickup a few new things that wouldve taken alot more trial and error to feel out. Amazing!!
Love the game and your vids! What us your opinion on the management of all tools, boosts, merchants etc. ? I feel there is a lot of room for improvements regarding visual indications and menu overviews to improve the playing experience. Would love to see the developers or modders are able to regarding this. Automation or ease of queueing tools and amenities would be great features as well
Tacticat whats your opinion on a dwelling first opening? Might seem like an odd choice but I was thinking if you number crunched the city productivity +3% +feast +pop growth you could get an extra boost or nay? Im debating scout or dwelling
Your second City is placed to a region with 4 food. Since you are not going to put farms in the same region as your city center, wasnt better to keep that 4Food region for farms and settle nearby? Since Farms output are based on the default region Food? Just a question, not trying to criticize you, but interested to know why. Thanks Edit: btw which is better?: +4Food region with 4 farms vs +3Food region with 5 farms?
Yes technically but I only need 3 regions with 4 food to hit max food needed for a lvl 30 city - sometimes you have to make sacrifices with placement so the city grows well / access to resource nodes quicker
@@TacticatGaming Thanks!! didnt know that math :P 3 regions with 4 food but how many build-able parts must have? Should it be 4 Farms + Well and another one with 4 Farms + Granary? Also Which amenities are calculated for this? Feast + Grain store only? Or use a lot more with +Food ?
I kinda wish we could make tech cost more to extend each era, i tried to mod it but I didn't find txt file's to edit like i did in civ 6 to do the same thing 😕
@juurika22 I love this game, but I have same feeling. Despite all the turns the pace feels too quick to utilise all the technology improvements you discover.
I feel this hard. Gets to a point where I’m just randomly picking tech for no reason and I lose focus and direction, which leads to a lack of interest. Basically always stopping around the end of the 2nd age.
I'm just a few seconds in... Will try to watch it a lot.. but damn man.. a 8 hours upload video? are you crazy? Nobody has time for that! Well... I have time for that so I will surely watch it lmao. Anyways, regarding the civilizations that disappear, I think it's a ratio of the number of total civs. Like if you start with only 4 or 6 civz, only 1 will disappear by age, and if you start with 20+, 4 or 5 will disappear each time. So, I don't think you have to force yourself to start with so many civz.
I won't lie, dude, your grasp of this game is far deeper than pretty much sny other RUclips or streamer I have watched.

Dude, you are relentless with Ara videos. Love it.
Great video. Finally wrapping my head around this game. But it's pronounced like harth:)
What a happy, healthy, middle class, yokel civilization in complete anarchy. Thanks for the video.
I'm loving this game. Managing individual cities food is the toughest part lol, I get to stagnation even with the best amenities at high pop level

OUTSTANDING!!! Any chance you could start a Discord channel?
its on the list of things to do lol
You should use archers and spearmen to take out the wild animals. They are more effective than scouts
Hello i just subscribed to your channel. Do u plan on doing more Ara content?
Potentially if they patch more
Please share map seed # on some of these maps. Sick is rerolling all the time.

When is the next video?
Next patch
Alot of button mashing without much time to admire the game bro.
