Now that I've finally found some shrimp I can see among the green plants, I'm really enjoying them! I'm colorblind, so standard red cherry shrimp were impossible for me to pick out until they moved. I picked up some gorgeous orange shrimp a couple weeks ago, and I'm loving them!

For years. Amano Shrimp and Neocaridina if the fish is not to big especially the aquarium not planted enough. They truky are a 100% must in my tanks. Just like atleast 1 Ancistrus. (Have video time lapse on keeping 1 Ancistrus or not, the difference is unbelievable) I keep heavily planted tanks, and people would be surprised how much they help out and manage to stay away and survive. Even with fast and big fish. Great Video. #Iconcur.

I got 11 cherry shrimp off of eBay for $24.56 May 6th but it’s about $4.00 more now considering the cost f gas has made everything more expensive. They have a bunch of babies now but it takes about five months for them to reach their maximum size .
Ghost shrimp are really cheep and sold at petsmart but they don’t have any color. For some reason I can’t find many options locally and their is no private non corporate fish stores the only one that was around shut down because the owner died and the kids couldn’t keep it going during the Covid shutdowns

It has to do with line purity and genetic strength, my LFS sells natural colour and clear shrimp for like 10cents each

Would love to get shrimp but i dont know if my betta Sushi is shrimp safe, but now I know they can hang out in smaller tanks so I can probably set up a small backup tank in case Sushi doesn't behave!

Bettas will probably try to eat shrimp

I've had two Bettas with shrimp and neither bothered the shrimp. YMMV.

Bettas may attack the shrimp I had a rams horn snail that I can’t even keep with my bettas . If it’s small enough to fit in their mouths they eat it so even if it doesn’t kill the shrimp especially in a smaller tank with no places to hide it will eat the fry if the shrimp breed because they are smaller than a grain of rice and start off about the size of a couple grains of sand. .
My male betta is alone in a five gallon tank and female is with four Otocinclus in a ten gallon . I had a common pleco for 11 years that recently died that was over fifteen inches long and just under four pounds so now I just have a bunch of Cherry Shrimp Ramshorne Snails (which will breed asexually and get out of control) and 11 Otocinclus in my 75 gallon
