Thanks for the awesome content. I was trying to find a healing class that felt right for this expansion and with your guides envoker is now it. Please, please keep up the amazing content!
Hands down the best preservation evoker guide I've seen to date, and I've seen almost all of them (not just yours). Very detailed and straight forward at the same time. Thanks again.
Tried that stasis combo on the training dummys. 2.58M heals. That's crazy. Now I want to try this in a mythic. Let's see if i am quick enough to set it up! Thanks for this! Can't wait for more videos! You've helped me out (and others as i see the comments). your the best! Thanks again!
Ok wow you're super early with the update, much appreciated! I've been learning Preservation because I've hit a wall with Holy priest, and your guides are so helpful. I feel prepared and you make the upcoming changes easy to understand. Thank you! :)
Great video as always! I want to add that dungeon and fight knowledge is critical for the class (more so than others I feel) because it'll help you with things like when to line up your stasis or when you need to start echoing people for a big VE dream breath heal etc. for big damage spikes
You said “making decisions on the fly” at one point and I thought to myself “hmmm… he should call the video that.” It’s a pretty good pun lol. Great content as always man, love your channel! 💙
I'm not a commenter either or even a healer, I'm a tank and I watch healers videos to learn and be more aware. Bowser you make me want to start trying healing lol, thanks for your time put into this videos, I love the passion and excitement you put in your video, you are awesome !!!!!
My tips for all preservation evokers: Evoker much like Disc Priest is about ramping you need to know when damage you need to heal is coming. So its a bit rough to get started with. Evokers biggest weakness is instant single target damage catchup and you somewhat need to play around that. echo -> reversion is the single target bread and butter Statis (if not on cd) -> Temporal anomoly -> verdant embrace (on someone who didn't get echo if they exist) -> lvl2/3 dream breath (which is why call of ysera is king) is the aoe/raid damage bread and butter. In dungeons I usually try to put echos on at least 3 of the other party members as a ramp before this (if temporal anomoly is not spec'd I usually attempt to hold after verdant -> dream breath for an opportunity to use spiritbloom) temporal anomaly (or an echo ramp on each party member) -> verdant embrace -> emerald communion is the strongest aoe healing combo in the game it can top up an entire raid if ramped into I usually follow this combo up with the ysera'd level 1 dream breath right before the next aoe damage instance. Only use living flame to heal if somehow reversion, echo, verdant embrace, and spiritbloom are on cooldown/unavailable and you need a heal. Also try not to let leaping flame procs eat your echo ramps. So I usually always reversion after flamebreath with leaping flames talent if I have any reversions on my group. Temporal anomoly echo should ALWAYS be used with either verdant embrace or reversion because lifebind and golden hour are unaffected by the reduced echo. If off cooldown I always use tip the scales before spiritbloom if I'm spiritblooming for more than 2 targets. Its just the most efficient use for it as it gets the heal out fast and gets me back to dpsing.
@@bordapatrol4930 temporal is a huge part of the raid ramp though. A couple TAs and throwing out your individual echos to cover the rest is how an evoker can lifebind away raid damage. The real crutch to not knowing when damage is coming is Rewind. Oh shoot I forgot to ramp oh well everyone is healed back up for most (or all in dungeons) of what they took.
@@bordapatrol4930 yeah I guess I can see what your saying in 5 man it’s a single cast full ramp for specific ramp finishers if your group is stacked tight enough you still need to start the cast at least as the damage is going out because the shield won’t be enough to prevent the next damage instance entirely but it does have some ramp catch up effect
Im so glad! As someone who hasn't been around in a while, what are the things you want covered the most? I've heard of a few people who found me who are just returning, so I feel as if I can cover something for yall!
I watched this video, spent 5 minutes getting the combos down, and could immediately see a difference. Honestly pushed me from slightly struggling with +8s and 9s to having no complaints thrown my way. All wipes the last 2 days have been on someone else by their own emission. Edit: also just finished a LFR Raz kill as top healer and last alive in all 3 wipes and the successful run
Another amazing guide! I'm loving this class so much and thankful to have someone that can help make sense of all the different combos and options we have. Also dumb question but I'm using Vuhdo and trying to figure out the spell ID of an echoed dream breath so I can see both dream breaths on the party frame. Thanks for everything Bowser and can't wait for the next video! :D
See my frames are good about it, I have no idea how you track that with Vuhdo. But if you do figure it out, mind telling me the spell ID? Thank you so much for the kind words!
How do you deal with groups that are all range and spread? Im having trouble with range not moving in on getting a bit closer together for healing even after telling them.
found your channel recently, gonna sub. I've played every healer at max level and preservation is by far the most difficult. doesn't feel like anything I've played. it's extremely overwhelming and i feel like it's hard to learn because every dungeon i que for while lvling people are over geared and pretty much one shot everything, so I'm barely in stressful situations while healing. Trying to learn it before i hit 70 but that doesn't look like it will happen.
Nice video! 30:18 This is how I feel about stasis and why I'm not a fan of it. Granted, I don't run really high keys atm, but I haven't felt the need to take stasis because its just too much healing that also requires setup. From my experience, just doing the "setup" is enough to top everyone off. I can see its usefulness, though, in encounters with very predictable damage.
I can just tell you! Storm Shield in HoV, Fenrir stack HoV, Storm phase Storm boss NO, AoE damage first boss SMB, When you can't keep up with the dispell on the last boss JST, The ramping AOE at the end of Court Of Stars, etc. If the room gets hit, or if people get circles on them, Zephyr works. Chillstorm and Flamespit from RLP, the list goes on
why do you take ouroboros? Doesn't that talent only increase the healing portion of echo itself which is a really small heal so even if you double it its going from 20-30k to 40-60k, i think that talent is a trap i dont think it increases the actual echoed spell just echo itself . I would think a point in temporal compression for a free essence burst whenever u cast firebreath, spirit heal, or dream breath would be more healing, thats an extra echo (20-30k) plus an extra hot from dreambreath(50-60k) or an extra heal from spiritbloom (like 70-130k) or the new 60 second save u passive talent.
I never comment on youtube, but have to say thanks to you Bowser for all your helpful insight and guidance. The youtuber Exogenesis has a very different build/style and is pushing high keys, It goes to show there is more than one way to get the job done. Check him out and let me know what you think!
One of the biggest problems I see with double rewind is that the CD is sequential, it doesn't matter when you cast the 2nd one, it won't refresh until the first rewind has refreshed. If the CD started when you cast rewind it'd be a lot better.
Really like your guides, great quality stuff, not recorded on a toaster. Personally I don't agree that "Dreamwalker" is useless though. I like to also use Emmerald Communion as a "oh s**t" Button. And when I do that I don't always necessarily have time or the brain power to also press Hover before that.
I agree, I use emerald communion an aoe healing combo with lifebind and am not wasting life bind duration (and thus a lot of healing) and hover cast before verdant embrace won't always last the entire duration and puts off the healing by 1 gcd. The bonus 20% max health almost never matters.
i had golden hour as top heal when i healed a brewmaster yesterday appearently it counts the staggered dmg aswell and no matter what i did when i reversion the monk he was toped every time overall it healed about 9 mio over the entire dungeon (+16)
Nice video will definitely try the big echo heal build , id like to add one combo that might be helpful in really hard healing checks like last boss of court of stars , you can lifebind everyone in your grp and emerald comm this will top up everyone before every tick of damage
For M+ I prefer my order. If you’re a raider you may be using more mastery as haste is less important. Mastery is not a bad stat on us! But it does not help damage, something that does eventually become important! But you can fly with lower damage and good mastery. You can get keystone hero even! So don’t sweat it too much
Hey, amazing guide man! I really learnt something new about Preservation Evoker! Tho I have a question on you and perhaps other adventurers of Preservation Evoker... I am curently sitting at 51% Mastery, 20% Crit Strike, 16% Haste, 5% Versatility. Is 51% Mastery too much? Perhaps not for Raiding content, but for M+ I believe I lack the other stats. Should I start any radical stat redistribution? Thanks for any answers :)
Hard question. It’s often dependent on tyrannical. But for tyrannical it’s NO, HoV, AA, And I’m thinking Jade but I haven’t fully settled on what I prefer.
I talk about it when I go over the talent in the first part of the video! But in short, it moves faster and provides fast echos. I’ll do a whole video on it but it changes the how and when we setup combos. But if we need to prep we still probably throw it early and do very similar steps. I think the biggest change that just came to me while typing, is the much faster verdant combo. Echo into embrace is kinda thick already, but now we can do it in 2-2.5 GCDs. That could be sick
I hit the break point on haste I felt it wasn't helping as much anymore. Im VERY likely bringing that in PvP though no matter what! But as for M+ im on a happy break point so I felt I could drop it!
Its complicated. There are some ground effects and even storming bits that you can jump. I dont typically get hit by storming swirls either. But its all hitbox dependent and I haven't done my full research on it admittedly. A good example is Court of Stars second boss, the imp summoning swirls can hit you and will hit you. But if you get enough height you dodge them. But then some effects like storming I have flown through and took zero damage. I also dont play DH so I dunno how Zigzag works either, if you wanna lemme know that would be dope! Otherwise ill look it up later!
OK so situations will vary ofc but a good default opener is Flame Breath, Temporal Anomaly, Living Flame? By then I should be able to see how the pull is going and react accordingly, right?
Yeah I’m roughly that order. I like TA first when I can. But also as long as the living flame is always after flame breath for leaping flames. And of course if something terrible happens you have time dilation, echos, and reversion to turn and emergency heal
30:28 this is kind of a confession, but volatile week, Ulduman, last boss, right after wing buffet, I could have, and will use this combination for that much healing Lol. The confession part is that I healed a 14 and it was my worst performance ever in any mythic key. I mean… i deserved to be punished, and I laid awake for an hour, thinking about it in bed afterwards.
I don't think you should ever cast azure strike as presvoker if you aren't moving or trying to kill something with totem levels of health you could probably get maybe 10-15% more of your damage out of it without scarlet adaption buffs and using procs on disintegrate , but you'd probably lose out on 3-6 burst procs depending on haste, luck and movement levels over a minute time frame plus you could take oppressing roar instead which is incredibly incredibly useful albeit hard to use in pugs, when you do consider scarlet adaption from even a single reversion on a tank without golden hour healing the damage is roughly similar just spamming living flame
Its actually mana positive based on regen. So living flame turns in at oh so slightly mana negative, mostly neutral. If I wanna do more damage, and chill not spending any mana but only gaining mana, its a better option. And as I tell everyone, you can't take my damage away from me! They gave me damage, lemme blast! (im stubborn)
That and the Stasis dispell trick! Those are the two commentor tricks I keep around! But moving commune is the one you will see in runs that I do frequently! You're the best!
You can change them but only waist and shoulders show from armor. You can go to a barber and overhaul the whole look whenever, but we just can’t do as much in dragon form transmog wise. But visage can do everything in the transmog world. But I never use visage form lol
@@ExtraHecticana I wouldnt know because I only went into form once when I thought you needed to on the quest after their starting area lol. I know some spells def work in that form, because I've seen others. Just haven't tested it!
@@ExtraHecticana Once you enter combat you will switch out of Visage form. There is a racial in your spell book to automatically flip back into visage form when out of combat again.
How is mouseover casting suppose to work? Can I make it work with "None" option or do I have to choose mouseover button? I have it on (with "none" chosen) and when I press 1 with mouse over my teammate on party frame it still casts Living Flame on me, so I have to use click casting atm.
Its very good, extremely good. But only for healing. Im M+ focused, and we need damage too. So i try and get rid of mastery whenever I can for crit or haste
I ran lfr and I never ran out mana the lowest I got was 65% this other evoker was always oom due to spamming TA I was watching to see how he was killing his mama pool and that’s was how he was doing it just to try to be too heal. In dungeons I never run out mana ever js

Why do you say mastery is not so good, that increase healing of xx% of ou own mastery %
