Phone is super great, no matter what others said, I have the phone after reading so many bad reviews on it, and this phone is really the greatest of LG, and the feels on your hands is great, I hate the notch but well that's my only complaint about the G7, and yes it worth the upgrade, it's a lot a lot by far better than the G6 that it was a very nice phone from last year, everything I can tell you about the g7 is great, I had my doubts anyways I get it and can't stop loving it, well that's just my sincere opinion... It actually feels amazing in use overall, from the size and build quality, to the boombox sound, headphone sound, to the haptics. Went from HTC U11 to this. The camera is lot better than stock if using the Google camera port.
There's a lot to like about this phone - the audio speaker, the screen (LCD does the job just fine), the google assistant button (no Bixby) and so on. However, it does have it's shortfalls (mainly the camera which is good but not on par with other flagships like the P20 pro or the iPhone X or the S9+ and, of course, that battery which was bigger in the G6). So I think a lot of folks will enjoy owning this phone but to me it is not worth $750.00 for what you are getting. To me this phone continues the great progress LG made with the G6 but they still have work to do to get it into the top tier (if that's what they are aiming for with the G series and not the V).

Many tech reviewers failed to mention that the G7 is the "1st" to have 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Same with last year by introducing 18:9 display. A factor that you might consider if you want to grip your phone on a one hand usability and a bit taller.

Well, I am not from PhoneArena but I think this is pretty simple actually: S9 has better display, better camera, and better overall software. 1+6 has better display, way better software and faster updates, better battery life, while on camera department it's on the same level, or even better than G7. I don't know where are you living, but pricewise LG G7 is more expensive than even S9, not to mention 1+6 which is clearly cheaper. Feel free to disagree with me, everyone has its own opinion, as its normal.
I personally hate Samsung software. Everyone I know has a leggy samsung device. I had the s9 and returned it. For me its about functionality. Samsung just didn't fit my needs, wide-angle camera and quad DAC is all I need to be sold.

I don't know if LG G7 have HDR on/off option in the menu as in my LG G4, because with HDR On my LG G4 takes way better than normal shot, and HDR shot with my LG G4 is far different than any other device's HDR shot. And i love the super wide angle lense LG using, very useful for landscape photography.
They dropped the back button? Peace out LG that was the only thing keeping me from the Pixel line but with it gone, it's just a Pixel 2 with a worse camera.

The G7 is one of the best phone right now? Ehm.. no? - smaller battery (my V30 gets almost twice the battery life... 22h with up to 7h SoT...) - smaller wide angle - still only 4GB and 64GB (for most countries) - LCD + Notch (and because of the Notch the clock is left placed which is so annoying) - horrible camera hardware (too small sensors) - way overpriced - it has a f*cking bixby button (it doesn't matter that is starts Google Assistent. It's still a nor remappeble hardware button!) - no more IR port - this "super bright" display only works for 3min... - still mono speaker and f*uck this "there is a little distortion"! This is NORMAL on a wide angle! This stupid sentence is the reason why LG is reducing this awesome feature to almost useless. The G5 back there had 135°. And now we only have 107° left. The dual camera is a reason to pick the G7 over EVERY other phone? hell no. Just pick the V30. It's better in almost every point except this useless speaker trick. And it's way cheaper.

A thing worth noting about the 'boombox' speaker, the vibrations produced with any audio makes holding the phone feel terrible while audio plays.
