championship play off is unfair though. Its only done to raise money as its more entertaining. I think if they were going to introduce this drastic change it should be announced before start of season. It benefits people who already used chips as now it may not be an error whereas usually you use on dbl game weeks. Now there wont be enough Dbl Weeks.
For a cash league i would understand the frustration with this chip. I don't mind it, most fantasy games outside FPL are spicing up the games. However this one should of been revealed at the start. Do we get the budget back after the 3 weeks? Or is it gone?
imo thomas frank will be the best manager for this, Brentford can beat teams 5 places above for a +10 and score a lot of goals for +1 each but let's see
Brentford has the second worst “best 3 week” score according to the press release with 24. Bournemouths best score was when they got surprise results against great sides which if you can predict - bet instead! I am leaning to safe sides.

Also it benefits those who are not doing well because there are a lot more points from this chip than a normal chip. Moving the goal posts benefits those not doing well which is punishing the good players. Im personally not doing as well as I would like (top 10pc) so might personally help me (apart from not using my chips earlier) but its unfair to move goal posts.
The new chip is another nail in the coffin for the game, IMO. We need more players to make it fun. Complicating things will only benefit the most engaged managers. Do we really want the game to only be fun for the top 300K? In that case, watch the number of players drop off a cliff. Have fun is that...?
@Mac_Kymera Yes there is as there is people that like the sound of it and want to use it as they think it will benefit them. If you don't like it or have the required funds for it within the team you then don't have to use it
this chip is the height of stupidity. its killed the integrity of the season from a competitive standpoint. my Mini league where we play for money has been fully refunded because this is no longer a real season. announcing the specifics before the season, fair play. but dropping this bomb mid-season literally destroys the season (blocks chips in a 3 week block, requires cash, etc). mindbogglingly dumb. and yeah its not impossible to figure out, but the main point is YOU CAN'T MAKE UP MASSIVE RULE CHANGES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON
Isn’t it the same for everyone though? Everyone knows from when it can be used and you just have to plan accordingly. I suspect when people do their homework most will end up deploying very similar strategies anyway and there won’t be huge variance. Going for the Liverpool/Arsenal/Man City manager with a nice three game run. Everyone with the triple captain chip left will use it on Salah in the same week etc. There’s always a huge amount of repetition and people mostly end up with more or less the same template.
Why don't you tell everyone in your mini-league that the chip is not valid in your league and either disregard the points gained from it, or void any team that uses it? It's your league, make your own rules.
Good luck Haaland team, we can barely make a good team with the actual budget, saving extra 1.5 mil for this chip is so trash, nobody will play 0.5 Russel Martin or McKenna, let's be honest
Like Abdul says, I liked the Mystery Chip… that was up until it said you had to pay/use your budget. Since when do players have to eat into their budget to use chips? Price rises and falls will leave you eating into your budget even more if you’re unlucky with price changes. Plus almost everyone will play it during a DGW, so how is it beneficial? Not worth it imo.
agreed, i feel like it'd be so much better if you have a reserved assistant manager budget separately. like we have 3m total; so we could get pep for 2 weeks, ange for 3 weeks, etc
I don't like it. We love FPL cause its simple. Pick 15 players get as many points as you can. The challenge mode they made is what this is for. No one wants to play that cause its not what we love.
It's ridiculous, whilst I enjoy watching the opinions of top managers the AI is spoiling the whole game and taking away the sport similar to the over paid footballers 😢
