Allowing extensions is going to be a game changer for OBR. ALSO there is a dynamic lighting extension as well!
As soon as more chatacter sheet extensions release and a dice macro extension releases Owlbear will be my favorite VTT by far
I've been putting off transitioning to Owlbear 2.0 (because, you know, I'm lazy 😂), but I guess this is one more reason I really ought to do it now.
I transferred my campaign the other day and it was so easy. They have a converter to move the exported file to 2.0 and I had a bunch of maps with tokens and fog set up and nothing broke.
I too have put it off
IMO, the tool they provide with 2.0 to adjust the size and grid alignment of maps is worth it alone to make the jump. That is such a timesaver!
Same
This is absolutely a fantastic add on! I'll grab it was soon as I get home. Thanks for the video.
I love Owlbear! Thank you for sharing this. I'm totally using it.
Thanks for the heads up Sly. I'll figure this out before my next session this coming Saturday !! I''m loving OBR 2.0. Took me an hour to both learn it and setup all the maps for my last session a couple weeks ago !!
Very cool. Very smooth
Very helpful. Thanks.
This is excellent news
Very cool!
I wish there was a Pathfinder 2e version of this extension. It’d be easy to draw the stats from Archives of Nethys
That’s very cool! Thanks
I've been excited to see this extensibility in our hobby in both Owlbear and Foundry, especially since DDB fumbled this opportunity even prior to their acquisition. Mike - perhaps there's an interesting question here for the weekly show: aside from Patreon, what ways are there to monetize the use of these APIs so that we financially support an ecology of loosely coupled services?
Thanks! No idea there even WAS a 2.0. They'll be getting my money before the next game session :)
I imagine only DM's would really need to pay?
Yes
I hope to see this is for FoundryVTT as well. Closest thing in FoundryVTT is 5etools
This plug-in would be awesome to use, my group is pretty entrenched in Roll20 by now though. I wonder if there are useful extensions for it that I just haven't come across...
I prefer Old School 1e, I wish more Extensions covered them as well.
Cool
Any chance this will be developed for other RPGs (Pathfinder, OSE)?
It all depends on whether or not someone wants to put in the work to do so. As far as I know, the extensions are made by the community and not by owlbear rodeo themselves
I would love to know how you integrated Owlbear 2.0 with Open5e because I would love to do something similar to what you did in this video for my first campaign. I just don't know how
I like the plugin but I can't seem to get the statblocks or info for anything, I'm missing the buttons to access it, anyone know why?
I'm struggling with the dynamic fog of war. i can't make it semi transparent and it looks terrible. Does anyone know a good owlbear rodeo plugin for that?>
Am I crazy or did you do an episode where you imported a bunch of free token images into Owlbear 2.0?
So since LocalStorage is now disabled from 2.0 this means the Info Cards don't work anymore, right?
Any more info on that? Was looking to use the info cards as described in the video but the button for it is missing for me
This is very cool. I have been using OBR1.0 for my online game and tracking initiative in Improved Initiative. This will allow me to run everything in OBR2.0. I have been putting off converting to OBR2, but now is the time!
Improved Initiative will be tough to give up.
Will Owlbear Rodeo 1.0 be still available somewhere?
Not really. They've said they will eventually open source the code, but the short answer is no, they are devoting their resources to 2.0. Running two servers (especially since 1.0 was free with no monetization) doesn't make sense for them as a company.
But 2.0 is really good.
Does anyone know if you can turn on off for players or drop fog over this? My players are not privileged with initiative knowledge unless they try and figure it out on their own
What exactly do you want to hide?
