First date, nice Italian dinner, great movie............Can't remember anything about the guy, the food and never saw him again but I never forgot the movie. However, if I did see him again I'd thank him for the movie, it's been with me forever, the musical score too.

Tragic , but perhaps not hopeless. When Anthony Quinn looks up at the stars and collapses on the beach with the recognition of what he has done it is a very Christian moment. Sorrow penitence and then what who knows? Two of the all time great performances Quinn and Giulietta Massina.

Thanks to a post by Y Fer on a different channel, who pointed out its similarities to the Larghetto (4th movement) of Serenade for Strings in E major (Op. 22). When I first heard it in the film yesterday, it seemed vaguely familiar sounding like a famous composition I'd heard before then. So I am grateful to learn why that struck me as it did from such posts.

You can hear parts of this piece of music that would not be out of place if it was in a Wile E. Coyote/Roadrunner cartoon. Along with the Godfather movies.
#Welcome2LifeLaStrada I was humming this in a public bathroom and my sibling was in the other stall, she said, "Stop that. It's creepy as hell, and I can't even concentrate on peeing." XD XD XD My cousin was binge-watching Welcome2Life with me, and now we scare each other, by tapping each other necks at random moments while saying, "Sabaki" or humming it when the other person is unaware that we're close by. It has become our thing now. (We only do this for our own amusement, if you don't like it, well... I don't know what to tell ya, because we're going to keep doing it for fun.)
Maria Ramirez I think the theme just recalled the memory of the killer (Yoon pil-loo) about his childhood. The song represents the only period when his parents were in a better relationship (although it was not relevant with love for a man and a woman). When the killer sang the song he may feel peaceful. He got hurt, he remembered what happened in his childhood, he expected his father could love him more. It’s a tragedy but the theme did recalled his limited memory when he was young with his mom. :)
@@aprils2288 You're absolutely right, however if you're someone who has never heard this it's definitely creepy. I love how because he wanted to maintain alive a piece of his old life, but he gets caught by it which turns it into a serial killer's signature move. Personally, I love the musical piece and hear it now and then. Although, if I'm listening to it and my cousin walks in, he immediately walks back out and says, "Nope. I'm out." So, I know what you were trying to clear up, but my previous comment was only to make a few laugh; if they wanted to. But thanks, I'm already watching another Drama and reading your comment reminded me of one of the best I've ever watched. Bye-bye! 🤗🤗🤗✌✌
Watched this film for the first time last night, 4th August 2023, and the memory of it will stay with me forever
It’s amazing. That final scene is like a gut-punch.

The most beautiful and moving film ever made with the ever so talented Nino Rota for the music
I agree. Nino Rota is a great composer, and he alone adds to the beauty of this film.
Hermosa melodía creada por su autor el maestro. NINO. ROTA .

Secondo me Nino Rota è stato il più grande compositore del cinema italiano sebbene siano evidenti le influenze del cinema muto di Chaplin
