- Hebron is a small Adventist village north of Tanna island with over 50 people. People in there get water from a hole beside the sea and from the rain. Everyday the mothers and children had to walk down the hill to the sea and up the hill again carrying water for their needs. When water from the rock dried up during low sea tide, they have to climb hills to get water from swamps in the bush. Their water is not clean and healthy but its all they can get for drinking, cooking, bathing and washing.
In 2001 ADRA Solomon funded a water project for Hebron and other 6 villages. The water supply improved people's live, the piped water is a lot healthier and safe for drinking, washing, cooking and watering plants . Mothers and kids unlike before, spent less time fetching water and have more time in cleaning their homes and gardens.
Today they can have like regular bath, brushing teeth, washing hands before meal, growing flowers around their houses and many more.
