This is great...I burned out my 2v layout control panel LEDs....forgot to install the resistors I bought...lol...all good for us clever clogs...the show must go on! Cheers for streaming.
Thanks! Those crossing signals shown are my second set because I fried the last two. This system says you don’t need resistors, you just have to lower the voltage output. Something I read AFTER. Lol.
Wow - You said O Scale - Lionel 👍
• Cheers from the Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
Lol. It might be the last time I say O scale. 😉
Great review on a very nice system. Thanks for sharing. Dave
Thanks Dave!
Great video Mark 🤙tonight show needs you
Haha, Thanks Ron!
Great review. I need to look into powering my lights. Thanks for the honest review.
Thanks! It’s not perfect but unfortunately I don’t have anything to compare it to.
Thank you for sharing your details video as great watching every time
Thanks Robert! Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Mark, Great video and information i will definitely check them out 😎Darrell
Thanks Darrell!
Very nice review and this maybe something I will look into in the future. Thanks for the review, David.
Thanks David! Do your research.
Very interesting. Still need those on my layout.
Thanks Mr. B! They are a novelty for sure.
Thanks Mark, definitely seems easy enough, something that I like. Appreciate this post
Thanks Pappy! I made it look easy. Lol. Lots of sweat, tears, and tech support.
@@MMRails 🤣🤣 oh I'm sure
Very good demonstration. I was considering getting some of this stuff and you have convinced me that it might be worth the investment. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Bob! Do your research. I’m hoping more honest reviews start popping up.
Hey mark that’s a really cool system. I’m going to look into that
It’s cool when it works. Haha. Do your research. There are other systems that might be better. I have no idea.
Overall seems like a pretty fancy kit for a small business. Great job getting it going, it seems easier said than done with all that wiring and playing around with the adjustments however the results are excellent!
Thanks Harrison! I keep encountering issues so now I’m not sure if it was worth the money. I don’t know if it’s me or the system. Maybe it just needs more adjustments. Thanks for watching!
Great job, Mark. Success! Very nice informative video as always. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Drew! I’m happy it all worked out. Did you see my “Spotlights” video? Have a great weekend as well!
@@MMRails ha ha ya. Are you still looking for the tiny screwdriver? 🤣
@@DruSteel69 Haha! I meant the Woodland Scenics spotlight review. Two minutes long.
@@MMRails - oh no. I missed the notification. I’ll check it out now. 🤣
Nice review. Attaching thicker wires would be helpful for the Woodland scenics Just Plug lights
Thanks Marten. I always attach thicker wires now to thinner wires. It’s worth the time and effort.
Nice going Mark, it was a shame it didn’t work on the live stream. Nice review.
Thanks Steve! Murphy’s Law, everything works when no one is looking.
Excellent review Mark, you did a great job explaining how the system works. Now I just need to find a working Wig-Wag signal to hook up to it.
Thanks! I’m sure someone out there makes a working wig wag signal. If there’s a demand, there’s a supply. :)
Mark you blew a breaker, watch Heath too much , great video , nice job
Thanks James! I found the problem, and now I have a new one. If it’s not one thing it’s another. Not sure if it’s worth the money after all.
That’s awesome! Once they get going they look like they work really well.
Thanks Kris! It only took several hours of sweat, tears, and tech support.
Hi Mark. Loved the video. You may want to try and NOT have so much bare wire hanging out of the terminals "just in case" the get pushed together and short out... Cheers Brendon
Thanks Brendon! I appreciate the tip. Wiring is not my thing so any advice is always welcomed. I already fried my last two crossing signals.
Great video Mark and seems like its a decent system to use. 🤔 I have the single road cantilever from walthers and I'm glad you mentioned that this system works with walthers. Since my layout is kinda small I might bite the bullet and purchase this product. Will see though.$$ Thank you for sharing. I think I'm going to start looking into this adriuno thing going on🤦♂️🤷♂️😅 Good luck that's a whole new ball game 🤷♂️😅🤣 Have a great. Happy modeling!!! 🤙🤟😎
Thanks Jason! It was a rocky start but I finally have the flashers working the way I want them to. Do your researcher. Arduino might be cheaper. One day I’ll dive into that pool, for now, way too cold and shallow.
@@MMRails Absolutely and I've already looked on the web site using my ph however I think it would be wise for me to look on the laptop 🤦♂️🤷♂️😅 research to continue after work this evening 🤙🤟😎
Nice, I have been waiting for this!
I’d like to hear what you think of it if you ever try it.
@@MMRails I really like Jim’s stuff it’s just one of those things where I already have way too many projects:)
Thanks Mark when a "Blink-ity Blink" is a GOOD THING, also wondering how it would work with a Dbbl Main running together.
Thanks Bernard! I forgot to mention it in the video, but apparently it will work fine with double tracks. You just have to set the sensor to a longer range.
Nice review, need to give their n scale stuff a closer look
Thanks Chris! Orrrrrr, you could always go HO scale. Hahahahahahaha…. Ha.
Good review with positive recommendations for improvements. 👍👍 I bought the Walters signal setup 3 years ago. Only the signal heads made it to the layout. After watching this, I’m going to see if I can find the controller and sensors and try to install.
Question: How would you set it up for double track crossing? Would You need 4 sensors? Different distance to each track and different directions?
Thanks Fred! I have the Walthers system on back order. I’m going to compare the two. I forgot to mention in my video how double track works. All you do is set the sensor range to detect the furthest train and I believe then it will pick up both tracks. I noticed my sensor reset to default so this system isn’t perfect. We’ll see what happens next live show. That’s always the true test.
Hopefully you get your Walters and do video so I don’t have to burn my out😀
this was a cool review clicked the like
Thanks!!
good vid thanks lee
Thanks
Awesome video. I know you have some trouble but I'm glad you got it going and it's good to share your experience. I've always used Azatrax but if I ever decide to add crossing lights I'll have to consider this for sure.
Thanks Dave! You seem to have pretty good luck with Azatrax so why change? Not sure how you paid, but this system is quite pricey.
@@MMRails yea Azatrax isn't cheap either. I looked this morning and saw Azatrax has their own kit so I would likely stick with them. Both spring switch kits and my signal work perfect.
😊
👍🏻
i'm thinking since your able to do this maybe i can good job on this
Correct, if I can do this, anyone can.
@@MMRails lol
Is there a caveman version?...oh wait that is the caveman version...there is no hope for me. Excellent video! :)
Thanks John! I almost went caveman on it and smashed it out of frustration. Finally worked though. There still might be an easier way, hang in there.
Hi Mark - Great video! Love your sense of humor and delivery style. 7:09 mark - *solders heavier wire to magnet wire* - Brilliant. Do they have a bell module available? I went the straight dummy route. No detection, no bell. Toggle switch to manually turn on and off. And just use the bell on the loco decoder. Take care - Bill
Thanks Bill! They do have a bell module but I already spent enough money on this system. :) I was going to go your route and just have a switch but I saw this set up and it looked easy to install. It wasn’t as easy as advertised, but it works now and I don’t think I’ll be adding more.
Hey Mark you say you bought a starter kit right? Did you have this personalized for your needs or can I search for it on there web site? Thanks in advance. -Jason
Jason, you can find it on their website. If you can’t let me know, I’ll post a link. I bought an additional sensor, so much better.
@@MMRails Thank you Mark!! I was able to find the video on it and also the correct words to use in the search box on there website🤦♂️🤷♂️😅 Did flashers come with your order? The bundle I found had flashers as well as the other components for like 200.00 dollars. Does that sound about right? I already have the flashers from walthers.
@@jaybird111207 You can buy their flashers but I chose not to. If you use Walthers, make sure you make the adjustments that I made. You have to switch the polarity and reduce the voltage. Good luck!
@@MMRails I have the Walthers cantilever flashers so I'm just going to get the components I need at some point. 🤷♂️ definitely will make the right adjustments. Thanks again Mark!! 🤙🤟😎
Hi Mark, have you ever thought of going into the rabbit hole and learn about Arduino? 1st, you would save lots and lots of money. 2nd, there are lots and lots of videos out there. 3rd, there are lots and lots of people that can help. Putting the lots and lots aside, there's a Arduino railroad group, most codes are already written and my favorite, it's CHEAP.
You had me at cheap Lloyd. Haha. I have definitely thought about Arduino. I fell for the “plug and play” aspect of this system. Not sure it was worth the money looking back now. As I do more research and hear from others, I’m thinking it all comes down to the sensors. And really, it’s a novelty. Cool for a video or when kids come over, but will I use the flashers when I run trains? We’ll see. As for Arduino, I need someone to post a video that sells me on it. Wink wink.
I bought the starter kit with the three LED block signal. So far I can't get even get the LED's to come on. Big disappointment.
Sorry to hear that. Did you contact the owner? It takes some fiddling. It’s cool when it works but it’s not easy to get it working.
