I’m on a 200k challenge, got all the way up to 218k and now I’m back at 201k, all because I started taking extra trades during the day, all because I started changing my strategy rules during the challenge, all because I got a slight addiction to being in the trading hot seat in the day. I need to go back to being mechanical

Stick to one strategy. If you have more than one, you'll be confused as to which to execute. Simplicity is key. If you have more than one strategy, then it's no longer mechanical. You have to be mechanical to be a consistently profitable trader.

mechanical trading will never work, trust me. market conditions change all the time, the only way to be consistently profitable is to have a big element of discretion in your trading.

Dig deeper onto money management From the way you complain i can say that you have problem with ( probabilities issue ) Im back testing photon course the results arw good i face loses but its all part of the edge butttttt money management somwtimes save from losing trades and i end up with zero risk or even 1/1 Anyway study the course again and again back test alot ahh what matter is ur journal.
