I think Sihanoukville is said see-ha-nook-ville and is named in n honor of the former king Norodom Sihanouk. He was forced out in 1970 coup d’etat and spent many years in China in exile.

Hey there, I'm subscribed to your channel and this was a very good, informative video. I came into Phnom Pehn a little over a week ago and have been setting myself up before the job search begins. So far it's been great (if sometimes a little hot). The people have been wonderful and I've made some very cool local new friends. I'm going to share this video with my friend back in Florida who is considering a move. Thanks!

I've been thinking about taking my TEFL but wanted to do it in person since I do not have a teaching background. Would you suggest that it just do it online? And yes you butchered every town name except Kep and Kampot 😂
Thanks for the video and all the great information 👍

Personally, i find doing them online is the best.
The classes typically are generic, you have to still pay for room and board most the time. and the ONLY side benefit of a life class versus online is talking to others
But You look like a young healthy guy, go out to a coffee shop or a bar and do it for free.
The job placement benefits they typicaly offer are also just using agents as well, things you can get for free.
In 2024, i personally cannot see a benefit of doing a life class any more. Get it done online, have it in hand before you get out here and worry not
I promise you a smile and a decent personality will get you a job over someone that sat in a classroom for 2 months and paid 3 months of a salary that can barely hold a conversation.
Plus summer classes starting soon, get working before the "Tourist" start applying.
Check below I have a 15% off TEFL online that i personally use, its accredited in Thailand and i've used it all over SE Asia.
Even Japan's JET program accepted it, so all good
and sorry about the names, i am rather famous for destorying names of people and placing
But end of the day im still Nguyening :)

Thank you for your videos. Lots of great tips and info.
I wondering, What’s the teaching job market like for seniors? I’m a fit 70, with a TEFL certificate, a Bachelor’s, and experience teaching English in South Korea. Would it be worth it for me to give Cambodia a try? Are any schools (with high school or adult students) hiring older teachers?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

I would personally say Vietnam or Thailand would be better.. Cambodia is getting very competative with a lot of younger people, younger than you and me taking the jobs from us based on the age aspect alone.
Vietnam though i know a good amount of teachers in Da Nang and Hanoi that are in their 50's and 60's doing just fine
Age typically isn't an issue full if you can handle yourself and for say NOT act your age.
I think of one of my good friends David, same name as me yes he is 63 teaching in Saigon he has no issues and one of the coolest down to Earth people i know out here.
So it's possible 100%, Cambodia though i think for our age group its better to visit and be a tourist not invest years into education, the pay isn't worth the time to make the move plus the compeative market of no degree required is got it already flooded right now as summer is about to end here
