The nice thing is that because the conclave lasted less than a day he can keep his Wordle streak. That is, if he had time today after becoming the pope and all.
@aliensinnoh1Lol. I'm all about my Wordle streak, too! I'm not sure he'll have time. He may have to delegate his Wordle to an assistant sometimes. Lol
Mr. John Prevost is a great man , he was the principal of my and my children's grammar school . I feel comfortable saying that Pope Leo XIV is a good man . Mom and dad are looking down on him and as proud as if they were here . Congratulations Pope Leo XIV and to the Prevost family .
This was my father's family. Irish Catholic family, he was one of 7, he went into the Navy along with his older brothers, sister became a a Fransican nun, one brother became a Diocesan Priest, another sister a Catholic educator.
It’s really incredible that they elected an American Pope. His brother is hilarious and the family sounds down to earth…. No more gutters and roof for his brother. 😂
Keeping the camera on the brother, and not bringing the interviewer in the visual shot was great !!! It kept the focus. A very superior interview to the ABC station.
"I always put him on the roof so he can reach the branches. That's not going to happen anymore!" Wow, I admire their relationship. Seems like they have a lot of closeness and good humor.
can you imagine the casual talks they might have. "hey rob, I some branches I need taken care of, can you come by? "Sorry, I need to be God's earthly emissary of a billion people across the globe. maybe after mass."
I felt the same exact way! I think he's very humble, relatable, and down to earth, which must run in the family because his brother from Florida seems just as kind 😊
It sounds like possibly his entire life if he knew he was going to be a priest since first grade. In another interview he did he said a neighbor lady said back when he was in first grade that he was going to be pope one day!
I'd like to congratulate this interviewer on scoring this amazing interview. Hyper sensitive to a person who must have his guard up high. You got him to relax, and a very delightful story. Well done! Congratulations to the new papal family.
What a respectful and kind man. It is so obvious that our new Pope was formed by the Holy Spirit. He is the right man for the job and the right man for our times.
This guy is hilarious! 😂 very loving and fun family. The pope speaks 6 languages and follows the socks, yeah! Fantastic down to earth interview. Mom nDad rip can be so proud.
Such a sweet, funny and wonderful brother. As a Catholic from Chicago who grew up in Oak Park, IL, I am elated. I am inspired by this choice. We need Pope Leo XIV and the healing he can bring to the world…the meek shall inherit the earth.
If Pope Leo XIV sees this interview, he'll be proud of his brother, John Prevost. This was a great insight into our new Pope. Thanks to Mr. Prevost for sharing and thanks to the reporter (Christian Farr) who did a fine job. Finally, to the folks in the Pope's hometown of Dolton, IL (who have been through tough times but are seeing better times) I'll bet you're thanking your God tonight. God Bless the Pope!
How lovely. With a thoughtful, refreshing interview. I like that Robert Provost, now Pope Leo XIV, grew up in Middle America and had a wholesome childhood. He got his calling at such a young age, so it is sad that the life that he knew in Chicago changed radically, but he was meant for something different. He was called by God to serve. Again, very lovely learning about our new Pope from his older brother.
Well-spoken and tranquil disposition. Talked with his sibling Tuesday before the conclave asking about his socks! Speaks well of his baby brother, the pontiff. xo
Mr. John Prevost, you said it's surreal. Sir, the USA feels the same way. The FIRST Pope from America! We are also so extremely proud today. And man, we needed a GOOD day!
Crazy I grew up Catholic in Chicago going to Catholic schools and this guy sounds like so many people I know. Never thought the pope would be coming from my neck of the woods. I hope people treat him charitably because he is taking on a tough job.
You are so right, he is cute, he looks like he will be a very great enormous support to his brother. I hope and pray they are as sweet and kind as they look. They look like the sweetest that can be. Leo is a blessed name, very very blessed. They are adorable, by the Grace of GOD it will stay that way. TMH cover them, in The LIGHT.😊
He now has a huge responsibility as well. The Pope's brothers are now likely the only people in his life with whom he can totally unburden himself, be Rob. Just be loved for himself. With the weight of 1.4B people & the world as it is, to call John & just ask "did the Sox win last night?" and to hear his big brother say "I love you" is huge.
Congratulations to the Prevost family. What a blessing for all and May God protect and guide the new Pope Leo XIV to help bring peace and comfort to the world
Excellent interview. Obviously the reporter is good at getting the brother to talk, but John Prevost is also being very generous with his time and expressiveness.
“He didn’t think so” aka didn’t think he’d be chosen. That’s a sign of humility that’s important in any leader but especially a religious one. Incredible he was so devoted to religion at such a young age, too! I’m critical of many aspects of the Catholic Church but I have confidence in Leo XIV
Awesome, brother, and interview. All three brothers sound like they had good careers. Parents must be looking down and very proud of their son for this unbelievable accomplishment.
Wow, that is a total commitment to God. I can't imagine being an 8th grader who has committed their life like that..... Many blessings to you and your family.,.. may the good Lord keep you on your family safe. 🙏🏼
Wow. Very surreal. Your brother who you grew up with is now the pope. I was starting wonder if in the situation, if you're the pope's brother, do you still call him by his first name? But then HE corrected himself immediately and referred to his brother as Pope Leo XIV. I have a feeling that the pope might tell him behind closed doors, "Look, I'm still me. Just call me Rob." Because the pope gives off a very humble vibe. When Pope Francis called his sister at home back in Argentina to tell her the he was elected, he said, "Hello, it's Jorge." I think it must take these guys some time for all of it to sink in.
If he's anything like this brother then they chose the right guy. I'm finding comfort in this brother's interview.
Amen!
Same he seems like a down to earth good guy
"First we do Wordle," is perfection! Wishing both these Men long lives of great happiness and Gods joy.
Lol
Last world he did was Macho LOL and we guessed nacho first
I like this brother!!
"Be yourself and he'll have it made" that's beautiful coming from his big brother....
Mr. John Prevost is a great man , he was the principal of my and my children's grammar school . I feel comfortable saying that Pope Leo XIV is a good man . Mom and dad are looking down on him and as proud as if they were here . Congratulations Pope Leo XIV and to the Prevost family .
*principal
Wow!! Incredible comment. May God bless you and your family.
Love, Laura from New Hampshire
Sounds like he never married and had kids.
@LauraDawes-zh6hz Thank you Laura.
@CheapsKate77 Yes I should have proof read my comment , I think k that was auto fill .
A priest, a teacher, and a soldier (turned IT professional)
I don't know what their parents did but they sure raised well.
This was my father's family. Irish Catholic family, he was one of 7, he went into the Navy along with his older brothers, sister became a a Fransican nun, one brother became a Diocesan Priest, another sister a Catholic educator.
You meant to say pope, principal and officer surely.
A priest, a teacher, and a soldier walked into a bar...
Don't forget all the child abusers the priest gave safe harbor to. If there's a hell he belongs in it.
"Did you watch Conclave? Do you know how to behave?" ROFLOL!!!!
THAT was awesome!
My thoughts exactly! The Vatican is far from what Hollywood portrayed…
😂😂😂
Such a sibling line.
This guy is adorable. What a great asset and commercial for his brother, the Pope.
I love how he slips and calls him "Rob" but oops...Pope Leo! Lol They sound like just relatable down to earth ordinary folks. How adorable.
I know right. Now he is holy...not Rob.... 😂. It is nice to have insight on the Pope's young life.
The Pope was the baby ❤
He says it for the camera. He’s still Rob at the dinner table!
It’s really incredible that they elected an American Pope. His brother is hilarious and the family sounds down to earth…. No more gutters and roof for his brother. 😂
Excommunication can now be used as threats between the brothers.
this man is a born communicator, and so generous with his time and with sharing his memories of his family! i'm totally charmed by him :)
I’m not Catholic but am happy to see his brother so humble too.
I'm Jewish and I was totally charmed by this gentleman! It doesn't matter our faiths, a good person is universal 😊
Very well said!@bearyhot
Popes brother is also a humble person.
Is anyone else struck by how remarkably normal and HILARIOUS his brother seems? I feel like these are the Catholics that people enjoy being around.
❤❤❤❤❤
People's Pope
This reads like quite a backhanded compliment 🤔Are some of them not fun to be around?
Judas was very friendly too...
I agree, seem like normal folks.
What a great brother.
I'm not Catholic but I'm really looking forward to the welcome he gets on his first trip home to America. Congratulations Pope Leo XIV. 🇺🇸
Yep!
That interviewer was outstanding
Agreed
Keeping the camera on the brother, and not bringing the interviewer in the visual shot was great !!! It kept the focus.
A very superior interview to the ABC station.
Yes-agreed! Open-ended quesitons, and let him answer in his own way and time. Well done!
His brother made a powerful statement when he asked him how will his brother do, and he said, "If he be himself, then he got it made."
What a stand-up guy and it seems like a really good brother. Great interview too.
For me, the most powerful comment was "It's usually the other way around. He gives the advice to us."
John, have safe travels tomorrow. May God bless and keep your dear brother safe and free from worry and stress.
Yes indeed: Safe Travels!!
35 years as a Catholic school principal. What a wonderful family.
27 years…
What school?
Mr. Prevost seems like an admirable, amiable man. Blessings on the whole family!
"I always put him on the roof so he can reach the branches. That's not going to happen anymore!"
Wow, I admire their relationship. Seems like they have a lot of closeness and good humor.
can you imagine the casual talks they might have. "hey rob, I some branches I need taken care of, can you come by?
"Sorry, I need to be God's earthly emissary of a billion people across the globe. maybe after mass."
John Prevost is representing Illinois and his brother very well. Great interview, and thanks for posting!
Wow, this brother’s so cool and seems like a really nice guy.
Why do I love the brother? He's so funny and charismatic. I'm sure Pope Leo XIV has a similar disposition (humble and charismatic).
I felt the same exact way! I think he's very humble, relatable, and down to earth, which must run in the family because his brother from Florida seems just as kind 😊
I read somewhere that the Pope has a loud laughter he likes to joke. I appreciate that trait.
He's a natural born teacher with God-given talent to connect to others. What a great guy! I'm glad to see this is the brother and wish them both well
That’s a good big brother! Proud of his little brother❤
What a gem of a brother. Super regular down to earth honest conscientious...all the good stuff.
What a beautiful brother he wanted to take his mind off it and wanted him to laugh because it’s such a big responsibility ❤
Nice family, regular people. Happy for them, but wish their mom and dad could be here to witness such an incredible occurrence.
I thought the same. Maybe Pope Leon was emotional because his parents didn’t get a chance to see it
Wow that's a lot of questions he answered. Very personable
What a lovely brother❤
He has served the Lord, since 8th grade. 🙏❤️🕊
It sounds like possibly his entire life if he knew he was going to be a priest since first grade. In another interview he did he said a neighbor lady said back when he was in first grade that he was going to be pope one day!
What a charming guy! Congrats to the Prevost family, enjoy your trip to Rome!
And many blessings continue at the Prevost family.
I'd like to congratulate this interviewer on scoring this amazing interview. Hyper sensitive to a person who must have his guard up high. You got him to relax, and a very delightful story. Well done! Congratulations to the new papal family.
Yes, and allowed the brother to talk and share his memories of his brother.
His Brother Sounds So Humble May Peace Be With you Pope Leo and Your Family 🙏💞🙌✝️🕎🛐
What a respectful and kind man. It is so obvious that our new Pope was formed by the Holy Spirit. He is the right man for the job and the right man for our times.
I agree. Looking forward to his leadership.
I am Jewish and I totally agree with you. So happy to see Catholic's going in this direction.
If only that spirit DIDN'T form child abusers in his churches.
I'm Jewish too, and I'm completely charmed by this gentleman. what a wonderful family! No matter our faith, being a good person is universal!
What a lovely man. May God bless you, your family and the Holy Father. 🙏🏻 🕊️
This interview was a delight to listen to ❤ what a great family.
This guy is hilarious! 😂 very loving and fun family. The pope speaks 6 languages and follows the socks, yeah! Fantastic down to earth interview. Mom nDad rip can be so proud.
Um, Sox.
Such a sweet, funny and wonderful brother. As a Catholic from Chicago who grew up in Oak Park, IL, I am elated. I am inspired by this choice. We need Pope Leo XIV and the healing he can bring to the world…the meek shall inherit the earth.
Retired teacher here. "We have to laugh." Thankful Rob has a new job and can stay off the roof. Best brother interview!
Like a brother. How wonderful for the Holy Father to have a family like this. ❤❤
There is only one Holy Father, and he ain't the Pope.
@kylehansen2122get over it father is how catholics refer to a priest . We get it.
What a fun, authentic person ! Thanks for a good interview !
I absolutely love this man! If Pope Leo is anything like him, we are gonna be great!
Family heading to ROME 🎉❤to see Rob / pope
What a good brother.
His brother seems delightful. I bet the new Pope is just like him. So cheerful, pleasant and relatable.
A very likeable and friendly man 😊
The meaning of well mannered and educated family.
First Pope from the USA. Pope Francis I was from South America.
@mchapman1928 relax most of the world refers to the USA as America. You know what they meant.
@randalMarsh-united states of America v9k
@mchapman1928He is the first pope from America period! United States if America is the country's name
@mchapman1928 The Americas and America, two different meanings brother. Stop with the semantics.
I love the landline ringing in the background hahah
It’s crazy to imagine being that casual American dude living like any of us and hearing his brother becoming Pope……….
It was a great interview. It says a lot about the family and their upbringing. I’m sure he’ll be a great pope.
Great interview
Prayers for the brother who isn't feeling well and for their whole family as they adjust
sad Families are always trying to be together, I know.
What a wonderful thing to say about his brother. What a blessing his parents saw him in Peru
Such a sweet relationship...
Really nice interview. Thank you. What an honor. Few Popes are made IN HISTORY and here’s the big brother of one. An amazing occurrence.
Crazy I grew up Catholic in Chicago going to Catholic schools and this guy sounds like so many people I know. Never thought the pope would be coming from my neck of the woods. I hope people treat him charitably because he is taking on a tough job.
he's taking the seat of Antichrist as all popes do.
That brother was so cool.
Such a cute, quaint, wholesome, good guy. Now he has to go and see the Michaelangelo and Raphael work up close, in person!
My Brother the Man!! Dolton, Illinois stand up. It’s nice to hear something positive from Dolton! God Bless!
is this man the older brother?
@tommas2674this man is the middle brother. The older brother lives in Florida.
@tommas2674Middle brother
@tommas2674Yes. They are a year apart.
Middle brother.
Great interview! You asked all the right questions!!
So humble, such an honor❤❤❤
A big love between brothers. Thank you for let us know how wonderful human being is our new pop Leo❤❤❤
His 2 truths and a lie would go crazy.
"Do you have your red socks?" 😆
No, it’s White Sox. Is it okay for a pope to be a fan of the team with the scandal???
That's such a good joke 😂🤣
i dont get it
@nocheapdopamine725 It's a joke about supporting the Boston Red Sox.
@nocheapdopamine725 Historically pope's have worn red shoes. So I think he was teasing him about possibly being elected.
I am humbled by seeing a man when all I could see is a Pope.
So true.
Congratulations to the Prevost family. What a blessing for all and May God protect and guide the new Pope Leo XIV to help bring peace and comfort to the world
I pray he’ll do the best he can for his people and country.
What a wonderful person ❤
Awww, what a beautiful man! Prayers for him too!!!! Thank you for your service to catholic education!
Omg…this is fabulous. Wordle🤣
Excellent interview. Obviously the reporter is good at getting the brother to talk, but John Prevost is also being very generous with his time and expressiveness.
What a lovely man. So exciting. Happiness & God's love to this family & for the world.😊
what a breath of fresh air❤ much love to the new pope's family, and GO SOX!!!
Beautiful interview and brother ❤
❤❤😂 " Hey Pope how bout some gelato" 😂😂❤ love ya John
he has such a beautiful sense of humor. what a wonderful interview
This is great. Thanks for talking to one of the brothers. Makes him seem real now.
Such an Honor 🙏🏻
“He didn’t think so” aka didn’t think he’d be chosen. That’s a sign of humility that’s important in any leader but especially a religious one. Incredible he was so devoted to religion at such a young age, too! I’m critical of many aspects of the Catholic Church but I have confidence in Leo XIV
❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼 His brother is just a darling!! May God oversee and guide our new Holy Father Pope Leo XIV 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
the affection in his voice, he's so excited. this is so sweet and endearing. what a PR gift for the vatican
I can only imagine how proud he must be of his brother! 😊
so humble!
Seems like a very sweet man from a kind family. I’m not catholic but I enjoy biblical theology.
What a cool man. He seems so down to earth and quite humorous. I hope Pope Leo has some of the same traits.
They are so South Suburban Chicagoans. I love it!
10 mins from me lol
Wow this guy is great. We need more people like him.
The interviewer did a great job!
This is so cool! Must be so excited and proud.
This is the best interview I’ve seen of him yet on the actual day!
I love that no matter how high you make it in life--you can even become the pope--but your siblings will still keep you honest
This is delightful.
Such a beautiful human being, thank you for sharing your family with all of us 🙏🌹☦️
Awesome, brother, and interview.
Love this interview!
Great interview! NBC’s Christian Farr 🤙🏼
This interview is the best thank you!
