Nicktoons Zombified (2011)

- Zombified is an series of bumpers that initially aired on Nicktoons in October 2011. The shorts' are also known as "HallowMean". These bumpers were on Nicktoons' website, reaired in October 2012, and was previously available on RUclips, but the bumpers become lost media until as of August 15, 2022. It's unknown if any more bumpers for this exists.

I've never seen these bumpers before, but they're legitimately terrifying. The characters' zombie designs and the off voice, these are actually pretty scary. Apparently these are lost media and watching them, I think I can see why they were lost for so long, probably didn't want to traumatize their audience.
The Bessie one is the most terrifying one and I can see why most people remembered it, it's certainly more "graphic" the others, and the distorted voice helps the creepiness, what makes it worse is the "hello? hello hello?" getting deeper too.
Then the "jumpscare" which isn't on any other bumper, the fact her face looks nothing like her too, excluding the glasses. It's no Scary Maze screamer, but still probably terrifying to young kids who weren't expecting a sudden close up. Definitely very well made for sure.
Cosmo / Wanda's one is pretty scary looking, but not as scary as I expected when I first heard about it, I think it's definitely the big, bright, empty eyes that do that.
Fanboy / Chum Chum is just goofy as hell.

"A Spongebob squarepants bumper with zombified spongebob and Patrick
Laughing maniacally. They were chanting out the word "Jellyfishing."
(Still me talking about it) I don't know what happens after the "nicktoons gets zombified" logo near the end but I have a guess:
Spongebob's left eye falls out of it's socket dangling there and his jaw almost falls off also dangling there at the same timeline as the eye.
Patrick's arms fall off and both of his eyes both come out of their sockets with the same timing as spongebob before the bumper ends.

The distortion of Bessie's voice while she's limping around a hallway really amplifies the eerie tones to these bumpers.
The cheaply sliding animation of these mixed with the needlessly flashy and just about discernible lighting would be genuinely horrifying as a kid.
I’m pretty damn relieved I never caught these when I was younger.
Like it kinda reminds me of that Black Licorice flash game levels of bad yet terrifying animation.
Bessie's one is the most terrifying, due to the fact she had a jump scare at the end, her eyes looked very realistic looking, her "Hello" getting deeper, and imagine if there was a little blood in there, they would've banned it.
Out of the three of these HallowMean bumpers..the Mighty B one is the most scary to me. Zombie Bessie just wandering around the remnants of her home, calling to her dog companion Happy.. What would be cool though is if Nick brought this idea back in new bumpers for Halloween at some point.
Maybe Bessie can come back for revenge

there are almost definitely no more bumpers. these 3 were all that was on nick's servers, and while they aren't the greatest at archiving bumpers, if a spongebob one existed, it would DEFINITELY be there.
Someone confirmed that there was a SpongeBob one, but it’s most likely Lost Media that will never be found

I slightly remember it, I was in my aunt's house, we turned in the tv and we were seeing spongebob, the episode finished and then there appeared the bumper, it was something like this:
It began with the "nicktoons gets zombified" then there appeared spongebob and patrick running, they were "babbling" (just like fanboy and chum-chum) I kinda remember them saying jellyfishing, then it appeared the "happy halloween" and spongebob and patrick were close to the screen (spongebob's nose fell with a sound similar to his shoes") after that I was like "tf did I just watched"
After that there was a mighty b episode (which I didn't knew what was mighty b) and it finished, then there appeared the bessie bumper which I remember screaming, it didn't scared me, but the jumpscare took me off guard, I remember it because my mom came in, asking me "why are you screaming?
I'm glad they got found!
The Mighty B one is actually very creepy tbh... and I'm 22 years old. Imagine what effect it had on children!

I feel like I remember an Otis one- But that was prolly just my lil kid brain filling up with falsehood
It'd be cool if there was one for Invader Zim, where you see Zim limping around the base while doing his trademark laugh but all distorted and raspy, and then a rusty withered GIR jumps towards the screen and screeches "DOOM!", and then at the end after the Nicktoons logo says "Happy Halloween", you see Zim's left eyeball fall out of his socket and dangle for a split second.

@@ZeepAtomic If CN made Halloween bumpers like that, I think that would be cool, just imagine if CN did that, I think if CN made a bumper of Ben 10 like that, we would see the inside of the Rust Bucket with a shadow of zombie Ben casted over the sink, the camera moves to the zombified Ben, limping around inside the RV saying "hero...time" in a distorted, raspy voice, then after the CN logo says "Happy Halloween", Ben's forearm with the Omnitrix on it falls off and bounces away from the floor.

Oh my gosh... I remember the Mighty B bumper... It haunts me badly and it was horrifying to see Bessie zombified... including the part when she took her glasses off... Now today, im 15 and here i am, looking at Bessie again after so many years to refill my nightmare fuel.

Over 2 years ago I randomly remembered the Bessie one with very faint details. I thought it was maybe robot themed, maybe post-apocalypse? I tried looking in Mighty B bumper comps, commerical breaks ect and came out empty handed. With the help of the LMW forums I sit here watching that very bumper. Thanks guys :)

The fanboy and chum chum one scared the shit out of me when I was little, it sounded like chum chum called my name at the beginning, but that's how my tiny self at the time perceived it
So this is what the Nicktoons Graveyard looks like. Pretty sad to see the shows that first air on Nick then air on Nicktoons for their last years.
I honestly don’t remember these but for real, the Bessie (aka Mighty Bee) was fucking horrifying cause like. Fanboy and Chum Chum and Wanda and Cosmo (while terrifying to some extent) were mildly scary but Bessie was a whole new level.

Like in Marvel's What If Zombies episode. The Avengers still had their powers as Zombies, and they were quite Dangerous, especially Wanda Maximoff.

I'm 16 year old that was born in 2006, and these bumpers [especially the mighty B one] are pretty horrific. I can't imagine the amount of kids getting nightmares or potentially c-ptsd after witnessing this at night.

The creepiest one in my opinion is the Fanboy & Chum Chum one; seeing the arms of a lanky 3D render composted in this way is oddly terrifying.

I remember seeing only a glimpse of these as a kid or I probably saw something else similar to it. Still this is pretty cool. I mean if any kid were to watch these late at night yeah I can see them being scared. On the other hand a decent zombie story can be made.
The Fairies had a zombie infected fairy escaping to the human world and bite either Cosmo or Wanda. With either of them biting each other and infecting the other. As for Bessie. What if during one of her sells she gets lost in a quarantined part of the city. She is lost and stumbles upon a lone zombie. Her thinking it's a customer wearing a Halloween costume. Gets close and it's too late for her. She gets bitten and well you know the rest.
What about for fanboy and Chum Chum

This excites them but...there is only one shortcut and it's the easier way to get there. Through the old cemetery and once outside the gates the two debate if they should either go in or find another way. Fanboy rushes in and Chum Chum follows after but what they didn't notice was one of the graves opening. After they got their candy and are on their way back through the cemetery. They sit on a nearby bench close to the open grave they missed. Chun chum drops a gumball that rolls out into the fog. He chases after it and Fanboy waits for him...all alone. Minutes pass and Chum Chum comes back but doesn't look so good. The two decide to head back to their tree house. Little did they know...a zombie followed down. Later that night as the two are sleeping. Chun Chum wakes up and feels worse than he did before. He checks his left arm where he got bitten. Soon he coughs violently and falls to the floor. Fanboy wakes up hearing the sound of glass breaking. He decides to investigate and doesn't notice Chum Chum. He is still groggy. He notices one of the windows is broken and as he goes to investigate. He gets tackled to the floor and the zombie that followed the two...proceeds to bite him on the neck. Fanboy calls out for Chum Chum and does hear his footsteps approach him. However in his final moments as a human. He sees Chum Chum now as a zombie and walking towards him to turn him into a zombie.
The Mighty B! one is the reason I started watching the show

Good Glob. I had the misfortune of coming across these ads on the Nicktoons website when I was 10. Bessie’s in particular scarred me so much that it actually ruined The Mighty B! for me. I had a hard time seeing Bessie the same way afterwards.

I made up ideas of Ben 10, Dexter's Laboratory, and The Powerpuff Girls:
Ben 10: zombie Ben limps across the Rust Bucket while breathing heavily and mumbling "hero time", and his left wrist falls off his body at the end of the bumper.
Dexter's Laboratory: zombie Dexter walks around the lab with zombie Dee Dee springing up from the floor and introducing herself, and Dexter's glasses fall off and expose his grotesque eyes at the end of the bumper.
Powerpuff Girls: zombie Buttercup swings her arms like she's punching, while zombie Bubbles is jumping on the bed, and zombie Blossom awakens from the side of the screen, and Bubbles jumps off the bed and falls apart.
Here's ZeepTheWocky's idea for a KND Zombified bumper:
Zombie Numbuh 1 creeps around the treehouse looking for KND operatives, with zombie Numbuh 5 jumpscaring the viewer and the two zombie KND operatives charge to the screen with Numbuh 1's sunglasses falling off his face and exposing his rotten eyes.
and finally... Dominick Long's idea for Chowder Gets Zombified:
Zombie Chowder runs around the kitchen devouring... well... everything, and he eats the camera with his belly exploding at the end of the bumper, now THAT's scary.

I know this is off topic but... Why are these 3 bumpers in a 4:3 aspect ratio if these where made in 2011?
That is pretty weird.
Nick still had the 4:3 aspect ratio from 2011-2015, sometimes in other countries, the ratio would be 16:9 with the bumpers being widened. And in some videos on RUclips, the bumpers would be 16:9. This aspect ratio would become 16:9 with their 2015 bumpers.
