I had a micro destination wedding in Tulum (which is the most expensive part of the Riviera Maya), and it was the BEST decision I ever made. It was 28 ppl + 11 staff, it was around USD$8000 with some accommodations included (Bride+Groom and parents of the bride) and the Wedding Planner.
Our family still talks about how amazing it was, and ppl think we spent over 30k or more on it. We wanted quality rather than quantity.
We had HUGE flower arrangements, amazing music, amazing decor, a 4 course meal with a chef and 3 waiters (it was not buffet, and guests got their meals served), a 1 tier cake with cupcakes for guests, unlimited cocktail drinks (open bar with 2 bartenders/mixers), and 3 types of appetizers for 3 different times during the night after dinner, a violinist for my entrance, DJ and dancefloor for 5 hours. Our money was well spent!!!! I cant recommend a destination wedding enough.

I hate taking phones out at weddings too and in general. At the last wedding I went to (small 30+ guests destination wedding ), they had the planner get on the mic before the bride entered to say she did not approve of phones to please silence them and put them away because they would ruin the ceremony and the video. It did work except for one person… there’s always the one.
That party also lasted until 2 AM.One thing I think helped people have energy and I would recommend if you guys are able to was that they brought out small appetizers at like 12 AM and that was a life saver bc the drinking and dancing takes a toll…

I had the same “rule” when i got married. If I didn’t speak to someone in over a year or just not in my life period, no invite. Including family. I feel like traditional latin weddings, your elders want you to invite anyone you’ve ever met in your life, including their friends. I had to check that really quick! 🤦🏻♀️😂

I had 3 glasses of wine before walking down. I have bad anxiety so I needed something to keep myself calm. I understand Henry for being a bit nervous. Having every stare at you can be a bit intimidating. But drinking some wine definitely helped me & I remember my whole day! I knew when to stop🙂 as soon I entered the room, my only focus was my spouse.. My anxiety left my body. I will forever remember that 💕

50k for a wedding in Columbia? For 50 people? And theyre acting so “unique” by being like oh it’s just a day, we aren’t bridezillas, we’re not trying to spend too much. I’m sorry, but they are trippin. They have to know they’re spending a lot of money.
In Mexico you can have a very extravagant wedding at a 5 star resort for like 10k. In the US you can have a very very nice small wedding for 50k.
Edit: If they got it like that, i’m happy for them. I want them to have the beautiful wedding they’re envisioning. I just think they need a reality check.
I was thinking the same thing!! Here in DR a COOL ASS wedding for 50 people would probably cost like 10-15k USD which is like 550-700k Dominican pesos which is an incredible budget for a boogie wedding
