      Oh yeah. My fav is UEF. The feeling of power when you get a summit class. BOOM!

    Very nice! You covered a lot of the early ships and asymmetrical tech level fights, which is especially helpful.
    Just a few things that can be added pertaining to T3:
    One reason the Tempest is rarely used is because even when it submerges, enemy battleships can target the ground above it and their splash damage will still hit it. The Czar laser will also rip it up using ground-fire.
    Late-game UEF navy is considered the strongest, followed by Seraphim. The UEF shield boat grants a huge advantage to battleship play, allowing them to wear down other factions as long as the boats are allowed to recharge their shields. The actual HP of a shield boat is stupidly low however, so a small number of subs can get in and snipe them.
    Late-game Seraphim *can* dominate using the sub-hunter. Against sub-hunters, ground-firing with battleships may be the only way to hold them off.
    Late-game Cybran benefits incredibly from Mermaids, since battleships often fire for minutes at a time without visual confirmation of their target. Support commanders are also important, to build HARMS without putting your build capacity on the surface.
    Late-game Aeon is my least favorite naval faction. However, they do have access to the coveted floating shield. It's a bad idea to try to move these across the water: they can't keep up with your battleships and will slow them down. Airlift them in and drop them next to your ships as you move into position.

      the seraphim overall anti air is kinda funny though, since i thought they had highest AA on their cruiser, combined with their t3 anti air gun being the lowest dps though 100% accuracy i think

    I had a 1v1 ladder match where I just built literally 10 naval factories and had them spam out submarines. Nothing can stand up to that many submarines and nothing that early can counter it, because that early everything is still T1. Once I navy block the enemy I go Frigates, which are Cybran and those control the air. From there it's just a matter of teching up and getting destroyers to finish them off.

    id say the best way to describe UEF is there units love to specialise in what they do.

    also other advantages: any faction except for the seraphim can retreat and survive into the water, cybran can stealth itself and get t3 torp def going, aeon can stay mobile with the t4 factory and uef can shield itself and has a handy t3 transport for your sACU's to reach their destination and new home quikly, then its make air units in the carriers (uef strength) keep avoiding mass incursions (aeon strength) and getting back onto land with units (cybran t2 strength) the only few reasons sera cant do that is because their sACU's have no RAS so the eco is too small, most attacks will come from the surface and their only home advantage would be t3 subs, which is costly AA. barely every happens but fun to do when it happens on setons

    I just want to say in campaign I had 4 salems against 3 aeon destroyers. I dodged roughly half of the aeon shots and still lost horribly. There is just such a stat discrepancy, and the bigger the navies get, the harder it is to dodge the aeon destroyers.

    Nice tutorial as usual, I always enjoy it. :) What I missed a bit though is the Tempest as submarine. I'm not very experienced in FA yet, but the submerged Tempest seems to be a reasonable addition to the navy. You already mentioned it's long torpedo or actually harmonic depth charges range (more than any other torpedo weapon besides Atlantis) and the very strong torpedo defense in your "All naval units!" tutorial. Combined with its high intel range it seems to be a nice support for the navy that is hard to remove due to the torpedo defense and high HP. (But at what cost, of course.)

    The note about Shift+G, while only helpful in FAF (since it was apparently modded in) is arguably one of the coolest tips here, if only because my Navy's pathfinding is always ridiculously idiotic. XD

    BRNKoINSANITY Thanks for this tutorial as well. It is not bad but in my opinion not as good as the faction tutorials. I miss the in depth facts and techniques. I wish a additional tutorial in which you are explaining the techniques you left out of this. You could explain how to use torpedo-bombers and things like that. Then I think you're series is really well done!
    BTW you spend my a smile today. Thanks for that ^^

    Actually one can dodge 80% or more of salem shots with the sera destroyer by going in circles and still kill the salems. Also you want to avoid getting close to salems because then you will have a really hard time dodging them.

    Cybran T2 amphibious tanks shoot torpedoes while underwater. Not sure what the damage on them is, but it'll eventually get rid of that pesky cruiser assaulting your factory

    • @satannstuff
      @satannstuff 8 лет назад +1

      +Tyler Houseknecht It's only about 4 damage, enough to protect a raiding group from a few t1 subs but not much more than that, it's only purpose is to make it more expensive to intercept the tanks in the water.

    Seraphim carriers are beasts

  • @abcd-yg2rx
    @abcd-yg2rx 3 года назад +2

    Î think Aeon are a bit weaker than other factions. Due to the lack of engeeniring stations even if they have enough mass and energy they waste it and it takes more time to get enough engeneers so that they can use all the mass they have at disposal. Furthermore experimental units are weaker . Galactic colossusses can win 1 vs 1 only against the Monkeylord ; from the distance they re much weaker than UEF fatboy and Megalith cause they always lose before they get near enough. The experimental flying aircaft carrier is too fragile.

    Ok, dumb question. I am just getting used to the vanilla version of the game... How do you build the factory and then have your acu immediately start building other buildings? I like the idea of a build queue for the buildings and I keep seeing it done with no explanation..... Also, THANK YOU FOR THE EXPLANATIONS OF FACTIONS! You answered most of my questions! :)

      there's no 'vanilla'. SupCom and SupCom FA are two games. Both had the same command system. The only difference is the GUI. There's a bunch of small differences, but not important to note. Shift is life in SupCom.

    The Tempest should be able to beat any other battleship. Simply press the submerge button...done. UEF & Seraphim has NO torp defense or offense, and Cyrbran's is laughable. Also, its build time is much less even though it cost more.

    • @justanerdiguess4910
      @justanerdiguess4910 8 лет назад +1

      +skidmoda Uh... No torp offense for UEF or Seraphim? What about the Atlantis. That has torps. And it can spam out torp bombers. And the Seraphim have the T3 Sub Hunter. That's one of the best naval units.

      Alex Burg In reference to their battleship 1 on 1. Obviously all factions have some torp defense, but I was referring solely to the battleships.

      Well if it's just Battleships, then I think the Seraphim one would have the highest chance of winning if it is prepared. I don't think the Tempest would like 3 Ship-Launched nukes hitting it.
