    That is a fantastic looking Mk1.
    Obviously that Burton engine is a bit more of a beast than the standard crossflows. I had over a dozen Mk1 and Mk2 escorts back in the 80's and early 90's, and they were so simple to work on compared to modern cars, I really miss those days.
    My friend had four 1.6 engines in his garage, and one Saturday, the two of us took my 1.6 Mk2 escort engine out of my car, and put each one of his four engines in and tried them out, then we put my engine back in, and still had my car back to normal by tea-time 🙂

      It's such a joy to work on compared to modern cars.
      Not the most powerful at 170bhp but more than enough when you're driving on a loose surface.
