Not sure when this holiday park originally opened but it is still there - built on the site of Nodes Point Battery which began construction in August 1901 and was completed in April 1904. All the guns - a total of 4 - were scrapped in 1956 and the site sold. Apparently, there are still some visible remains of the old site.
Yes the underground magazines are still accessible if you know how 😉 . Lots of original Victorian perimeter fences and walls remain, as does later WW2 additions .
